The melody of the song went back to 1893. Two sisters—Patty and Mildred Hill from America—wrote the song together. Patty was a school head teacher, and her elder sister Mildred was a pianist. At first, the song was called Good Morning to All. Teachers at the school used it as a happy morning greeting to kids. The melody was easy to remember. And the lyrics went like this:
Good morning to you
Good morning to you
Good morning, dear children
Good morning to all
On a student’s birthday, the teachers changed the lyrics of “Good morning to you” to “Happy birthday to you”. The song soon became popular. Children across America loved the song so much and started singing it back to their teachers on their birthdays.
In 1924, Robert H. Coleman used the Hill sisters’ lyrics as the first verse (节) and “Happy birthday to you” as the second, making the song even more popular. Today our knowledge of food and what it does for bodies is far more advanced than that of the ancients. Now we know about vitamins and how each kind of vitamin helps in the growth of a special part of our body. There are on the market all kinds of vitamin pills which one can take to make up for one’s lack of certain important things that are needed for normal health. Of course, if we eat well and properly, the food that we eat will take care of our body without these pills. Vegetables contain a lot of vitamins. For example, tomatoes are rich in vitamin C. So there is no need to take any kind of vitamin pills unless our doctor tells us that our bodies are short of something that can be supplied by them.
Generally speaking, everything we eat does some good to our body, but if we eat too much of one kind of food and don’t give enough care to others, then we may be in trouble.
We are often told that we must eat more meat at each meal to get the necessary protein. That is only partly true for protein is not found only in meat. We can also get it from some vegetables such as the soybean. The soybean can be cooked in many ways and it is a great source of nutrition.

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) was one of the most important German composers of the Baroque period (a time in music history) . Born into a family of musicians in Eisenach, Germany, he began learning music from his father when he was young . After his parents died early , he moved in with his older brother, Johann Christoph Bach, who taught him to play the organ and harpsichord (a type of old piano) . Even when life was hard , Bach’s love for music grew .
Bach had several important jobs during his career. He first worked as a church organ player in Arnstadt and later became a court musician (playing for royalty) in Weimar, where he wrote many pieces for the organ . From 1717 to 1723, he served as Kapellmeister (music director) in K then, creating works for instruments like the Brandenburg Concertos . His final job was in Leipzig, where he led church choirs and wrote over 200 cantatas (religious songs for choir) , including the famous St. Matthew Passion .
Bach’s music is known for its complexity and depth . He mastered counterpoint— a way of combining different melodies together —as heard in The Well-Tempered Clavier, a book of musical exercises . Unlike composers like Mozart or Beethoven, Bach often focused on using 1-2 main tunes and creating detailed patterns , making his work feel like “solving a math problem” . Though not well-known during his lifetime, his music became famous after his death .
Family was very important in Bach’s life. He married twice and had 20 children, 10 of whom lived to grow up . Four of his sons—Carl Philipp Emanuel, Wilhelm Friedemann, Johann Christoph Friedrich, and Johann Christian— also became famous composers , continuing the Bach family’s musical tradition .

US teenagers use “LOL” (laugh out loud) when talking about a funny video. In China, post-00s (00后), a group born between 2000 and 2009, like to use “Xswl” (laugh my head off).

Is there a connection (联系) between volunteering and health Can volunteering offer a way to make kids healthier
Scientists found that volunteering in schools or communities will do good to the health of kids. According to a new study this year, kids who volunteer aren’t just helping their community. They might be helping themselves as well.
People did a survey among the parents of about 50,000 kids aged 6 to 17 in the United States and found that kids who took part in community service were 34% more likely (可能) to grow up healthily than those who didn’t. And kids aged 12 and older who volunteered were 25% less likely to have anxiety. The survey shows that volunteering can help raise levels of happiness and mental (精神的) health.
In another study, 40% of high school students said that they felt sad or hopeless before. So there’s a clear need to pay attention to (关注) students’ mental health. Giving back to the community may be one of the possible ways. Doing something to help the community may bring people a lot of joy. It not only makes them feel close to those around them, but also makes them happier and healthier. So, why not give it a try, for your health and happiness

Eating in space is different from eating on the Earth. The food that astronauts carry with does not look like the food you eat. Some food is carried in closed bags. It is cooked and frozen before the astronauts get it.
All the water is removed from the food. In the spaceship, the astronaut puts the water back. He “shoots” hot or cold water into the food bag with a special gun. He eats the food that comes in bite sizes. The astronaut puts a whole piece into his mouth at once. There can be no crumbs (碎屑). Crumbs would float around the spaceship and get in the way. Meat and cake often come in bite sized pieces. Astronauts cannot drink liquid from open cups. It would float in drops in the air. Therefore, the astronaut shoots the liquid into his mouth or uses a straw to suck it out of a sealed package. This is done so that it will not spill or possibly cause any damage to machines.
At the International Space Station, 300 different types of food are planned to be on the menu. The meals are very similar to the meals we eat on Earth.

【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要讲述了在太空中饮食与在地球上不同,介绍了宇航员携带食物的方式、食物特点、饮水方式以及国际空间站的食物种类等情况。
95.第一段指出“Some food is carried in closed bags.”,这直接说明有些太空食物是装在密封袋里的。
96.第二段提到“All the water is removed from the food. It is cooked and frozen before the astronauts get it.”,说明以特殊方式携带的食物是煮熟且冷冻且去除水分的。
97.第二段描述了宇航员在太空中的各种饮食操作,如给食物加水、吃特定大小的食物、用特殊方式喝水等,由此可以推断出宇航员必须学习许多新的和不同的东西。
98.第二段说明原因“Astronauts cannot drink liquid from open cups. It would float in drops in the air.”,说明宇航员不能用开口杯子喝液体是因为水会以水滴的形式漂浮在空气中,也就是水会从开口杯子中出来。
99.文章整体围绕在太空中饮食的特殊之处展开,从食物携带、处理到饮水方式等都和地球上不同,所以“eating and drinking in space is special”能概括文章主旨。
