Sentence patterns
主语+be 动词(am/is/are)+动词-ing 形式+
表示位置的介词短语.
此句型是现在进行时的肯定句
“be 动词+动词-ing 形式”是现在进行时的标志,
其中 be 动词要随着主语人称和数的变化而变化
方位介词(短语)+地点名词,如:in the kitchen
描述某人正在某处做某事
问句:Where is + 主语(第三人称单数)
答语:He’s/She’s +表示位置的介词短语.

问句是由 where 引导的特殊疑问句;其中
where 意为“在哪里”,用于询问地点
主语为第三人称单数,故 be 动词要用 is
询问他人(单个人)的位置
