Attending a party in a foreign country
What gifts to bring: guests will often bring something to drink for the host or for others at the party. Depending on the invitation, guests may also bring snacks or sweets, or even some dishes to eat.
How to dress: some parties have a specific dress code, such as formal or fancy dress, where people wear costumes based on a specific theme. If it is not a formal party, smart but casual clothes are probably best.
Safe conversation topics: It is best to be friendly and respectful during conversations, so the topics should reflect that. One can talk about food and drink, travel, hobbies, work (not too much), and cultural differences (in a respectful way). It is best not to talk about politics, religion, money, or personal relationships. It is best to see how others speak as a guide and to ask lots of respectful questions to encourage others to talk to you.
