Narrator: A young man’s uncle leaves him one thousand dollars in his will. What will the young man do with it

In Tolman’s office, Mr Tolman, a lawyer, has just finished reading Gillian’s uncle’s will.
Tolman: Well, there you are. Your uncle wrote his will two months before he died, and now I’ve read it to you. What do you think
Gillian: (Laughing) It’s not going to be easy to spend a thousand dollars.
Tolman: After spending this cash, you must tell me in writing how you spent it. Will you do that
Gillian: Yes, I’ll do it.
Tolman: (Giving Gillian a packet) Here’s the money, one thousand dollars.
Reading
Narrator: Gillian knows that the uncle’s caretaker, Miss Hayden, got just ten pared to that, a thousand is a lot. How should Gillian spend his money He asks several friends, but doesn’t find the answer. Finally, he decides to return to his uncle’s house.
Scene 2 __________________________________________
In the living room, Miss Hayden is sitting at a table, writing letters. She looks up when Gillian comes in.
Gillian: I’ve just come from Tolman’s. He found a mistake in the will.
Miss Hayden: He did
Gillian: My dear old uncle left you a thousand dollars, not ten. Tolman asked me to bring it to you. Here it is. (He puts the packet of money on the table.)
Miss Hayden: (Excited) Oh my! Wow!
Gillian: (Smiling) Can I write a note
Miss Hayden: Of course. (She gives him a pen and some paper, and leaves. Gillian writes a short note, and then reads it.)
Gillian: “Paid to the best and dearest woman in the world, one thousand dollars. I hope she will be happy forever.”

Gillian: (Laughing) As I usually do!

Gillian quickly takes the note from the desk, then tears the note into pieces and puts it in his pocket.
Gillian: (Smiling) It’s all right. There’s no need to read it. ________ Goodbye, Mr Tolman.
Gillian leaves the office, happily singing a song.

Gillian tore the note into pieces because he didn’t want Mr Tolman to read it.

Gillian’s uncle planned this to test how Gillian would use the one thousand dollars.
The moral of the story is that being selfless and using money to do good deeds is valuable.
