4.语法----动词不定式:动词不定式是动词的一种非谓语动词形式,基本形式是“to+动词原形”。动词不定式没有人称和数的变化,在句子中不能作谓语。但仍保持动词的特点,可以有自己的宾语和状语。动词不定式在句中可以做主语,宾语,宾语补足语,定语或状语。
动词不定式作主语。
动词不定式做主语时,通常用it做形式主义,真正的不定式主语则放在后面。常见句式有:
(1)It is +adj.+for sb. +to do sth. 如:
It is important for us to communicate with our parents.(对我们来说和父母交流很重要。)
(2)It takes sb.+ some time +to do sth. 如:
It takes me twenty minutes to ride to school every day.(每天骑车到校花费我二十分钟。)
2)动词不定式可以作宾语
英语中有些动词后可以跟动词不定式作宾语。常用动词不定式作宾语的动词(词组)有:afford, agree, want, would like, hope, decide, wish, try, learn, expect, begin, help, offer, start, fail, plan, promise, refuse等。如:We all hope to win the gold medal.(我们都希望赢得金牌。)
He decided to take a trip on weekends.(他决定周末去旅游。)
当动词不定式做宾语,且后面带有宾语补足语时,常用it作形式宾语,真正的宾语即动词不定式放在后面。如:
I think it important to get into a good university.(我认为上一所好大学很重要。)
动词不定式可以和what, which, when, where, how等词连用,如:
Nobody told us what to do next.(没有人告诉我们接下来做什么。)
We didn’t know where to go.(我们不知道去哪里。)
3)动词不定式作状语:
(1)动词不定式可以作目的状语,可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。如:He got up early to catch the early bus.(他早起床赶乘早班公共汽车。)
To get better grades, I must study harder.(为了取得更好的成绩,我必须更努力学习。)
(2)动词不定式用作结果状语,常与enough 或too连用构成固定结构。如:
The room is large enough to hold so many people.(这个房间足够大能容纳这么多人。)
He is too young to go to school.(他年龄太小而不能去上学。)
4)动词不定式作宾语补足语
(1)常见后接动词不定式作宾语补足语的动词有:advise, allow, ask, tell, encourage, expect, force, invite, order, require, want, warn, teach等。如:
The teacher told us to sing a song together.(老师叫我们一起唱一首歌。)
My parents often encourage me to face any difficulty bravely.(我的父母亲经常鼓励我勇敢地面对任何困难。)
(2)在动词后面作宾语补足语的不定式,可以带to,也可以不带to。如: After school, she often helps her parents (to) do housework.
英语中还有几个动词后用不带to的不定式做宾语补足语,他们是:一感(feel),二听(hear, listen to),三让(let, make, have),四看(look at, see ,watch, notice).
5)动词不定式作定语
(1)动词不定式作定语时要放在被修饰词的后面。如:
I have something important to tell you.
(我有一些重要事情要告诉你)。
(2)如果是不及物动词,并且和被修饰的词存在逻辑上的动宾关系,要在不定式后加上适当的介词。如:
I need a house to live in.
(我需要一所房屋居住)。
