二、阅读理解
Last term, I joined the art club at school. I was super excited as I really loved painting. But right away, I faced a big problem. The teacher asked us to paint an outdoor scene with oil paints, and I’d never used them before.
At first, I thought it would be easy. I put paints on a small plate and started mixing. However, the oil paint was thick and sticky. It was really difficult to spread it neatly on the big white paper. All my efforts ended up in a mess. The colours I mixed were off. The sky I painted was dark gray instead of blue, and the grass looked like mud. I failed over and over. I felt so down that I even considered giving up.
One day, while I was in the club room, looking at my bad paintings, anew girl named Lily came in. She saw I was sad and asked what was wrong. I told her all my troubles. She smiled and said, “Don’t worry. I was bad at this at first. Keep trying, and you’ll get better.” She showed me her old paintings. They weren’t great, but I could see she’d improved. She said she learned from computer videos and asked the teacher for help.
Lily’s words made me want to give it another go. After school, I watched lots of oil-painting videos. I learned colour-mixing and brush-using. In the club, when I was confused (困惑的), I asked the teacher. The teacher was kind and gave me good advice.
Finally, the art show arrived. I was a bit nervous. When I put up my painting, many students and teachers came to look. They said it was beautiful and colourful. I was so proud of myself.

From an early age, I began to like Chinese culture a lot. When there was a chance to study in Beijing as an exchange student, I took it at once. In my first 24 hours in Beijing, I felt very nervous. I didn’t see one foreigner. But on my first day of school, I was greeted by many foreign faces. The students came from all over the world. I would be in a class with chelsea from Norway and charlie from my motherland—the Uk.
None of us had studied chinese before, but our language skills improved quickly. By the end of the first month, we could all make simple sentences. Some of these sentences, though, were quite funny. We often sent our language teacher sophie into wild laughter. We had a happy time together.
The first month was very tiring. There were so many new things to learn. Thankfully, our school organized many events for students. We talked a lot about cultural differences and our future plans. It was a great chance for us to practice speaking chinese.
In october, my Chinese friend Zhen Hua showed me around the city. He took me to some of his favorite restaurants. Chinese table manners were very different from those in the west. Eating chinese food was like an adventure, and it became my favorite part about living in Beijing.

And then she shared her school life. At last, she said the PE teacher was very patient and she expressed her thanks to the teacher. She also said the students were very lovely and friendly. “I’m so lucky to have the chance to take the PE class,” she said excitedly.

Our school library is on the second floor of the teaching building. It is bright and quiet, with shelves full of books of different kinds, such as storybooks, science books, and magazines.
The library has helped me a lot. I often read there after class, which improves my reading skills and broadens my knowledge. It is also a perfect place to study and do homework. To give back, I want to volunteer in the library, helping to organize books and keep it clean. I also plan to donate some interesting books to share with others.
I love our school library and hope it becomes even better!(共27张PPT)

Lessons on My Farm
Three years ago, I started the “Farm Labour (劳动)” program. I wanted city kids to experience what they enjoyed and learned on my farm. I host three or four kids at a time. Most of them come for a week. Every morning, I take the kids through a two-hour hands-on farm class.
There is a lot to learn. For example, I don’t expect a child to know how long it takes for a chick to hatch (孵化). But I’m often surprised when they don’t know how to pull a cart (手推车) around a corner or climb over a gate.
Don’t get me wrong. I love educating kids and then cheering them on when they manage to do these simple tasks independently. It’s just that, two generations ago, these skills were
common knowledge. City kids today rarely get to touch real tools or take on hard chores (农活). These encounters (遭遇) can be unpleasant and even painful, so it’s understandable that parents want to protect their children from them. The problem is, when they do, something necessary is lost.
Farms can also be dangerous. We’ve never had a serious injury, but many kids have been stung (蜇伤) by bees, pecked by a chicken, or kicked to the ground by a small naughty horse. Children are often stronger than I think.
At first, I was worried the repetitive (重复的) chores would bore my young visitors, but much to my surprise, the opposite is true. They find the chores fun and they need labour education. When they come for return visits, as so many do, they eagerly ask me, “ When do we get to dig out the potatoes ”

Last weekend, I took Lucy to a park, where she discovered a track with large bumps (凸块) and sharp turns. At first, I thought Lucy was able to ride her bike along the track, but she quickly found that her bike was too low to the ground and kept getting stuck on top of the bumps.
Lucy looked at me with fear because she was still abiking newbie. I tried to encourage her, too, but really, I was thinking—this is going to be a disaster. Not because I thought she would get hurt. More because I thought she wouldn’t be able to pick up enough speed to balance, then get really discouraged, and give up quickly. I imagined her throwing her bicycle to the ground and then crying all the way home.
But I was only half right. Lucy did have a lot of trouble riding the bike. She couldn’t find her balance. She fell many times. At one point, she almost started crying because younger kids were getting angry that she was slowing everyone else down. But she did not give up. She kept picking herself up and trying again. She even took the bike off the track and into the main park to practice pushing off and picking up speed on a flat ground. When she felt more confident, she came back. Then she did it over and over again until she finally reached her goal of going around the whole track without falling once. Then she didn’t want to leave and everyone was cheering her on.
This was nota day that ended in a disaster. It was a day when Lucy learned that perseverance (毅力) pays off.

In our lives, we often meet different people and face various situations. But have you ever thought about who you really are Understanding oneself is the key to a happy and meaningful life.
Knowing your strengths (长处) and weaknesses is important. Everyone has their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, you might be good at painting, which is your strength. The night before I left for college I didn’t sleep much. As my
parents drove me to whitewater the next morning, I watched my
town slowly disappear with tears in my eyes. I thought about many things and asked myself repeatedly why I hadn’t chosen to attend a university a little closer to home. But I reminded myself I was leaving for the education program, to play soccer, and to open up my eyes.
The first few weeks were challenging. When I wasn’t at soccer practice, I was going through photos and other memories, tears running down. I ran up quite a phone bill that first month. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that soccer wasn’t really my cup of tea. Then I focused on getting to know the girls on my floor. Strangers quickly became close friends—some felt like family within months.
My first trip home was one I really looked forward to. But when the day finally arrived, I didn’t really know what I’d expected. My family didn’t seem much different, and my bedroom remained untouched. But the whole atmosphere (氛围) was different. Suddenly I felt like a visitor and the place I had spent many years now seemed a little foreign. I met up with many old friends and attended a high-school football game. But when I looked at the people who I used to talk with, somehow I didn’t have much to say.
I returned to school and felt lost. I wasn’t very close to my new friends yet, but a lot had changed with my old ones. I was going through the transition. It’s a time to let go of the past, focus on the present, and aim for the future. If I hadn’t experienced this, I’d have missed out on many things—great late-night talks, water fights, and so on.
College life isn’t easy. There are many things to get used to. But it’s a time to grow and become stronger. When my first year ended, I found myself crying all the way back home, for the same reasons I had cried all the way to whitewater. But I knew my friends would still be there.

Zhao Xiang is a seventh grader who loves music. He has a good voice and is in a singing club. Recently, he had a problem. His school would hold a singing competition. His class teacher, Mr. Yao, talked to the class and they decided to sing a chorus masterpiece * at the competition.
For the performance, Mr. Yao even invited his wife, a local musician, to guide the practice. Zhao xiang thought it was a good chance for him to show his talent.
At the first practice, things did not go as what Zhao xiang had expected—he was too good to join the others. The musician was not satisfied and Zhao xiang felt bad. Mr. Yao saw everything and he came up to Zhao Xiang and comforted him, “Please remember, Zhao Xiang, singing a chorus is NOT one person’s job. Everyone has to work together to achieve a good result.” Zhao Xiang realized that his voice would not help if he failed to work well with others.
三、阅读表达(2025 陕西)
Zhao xiang changed his way of singing—he did not sing so loud as he used to and his voice became more mixed with the others’. He even helped the musician to train those who had trouble in singing by showing them how to breathe (换气), how to control voice and sing gracefully. The practice was hard, but everyone was happy with him—the class teacher, the musician, his classmates, and even his parents—about his development!
At last, the Big Day came. The whole class was on the stage. They tried their best and they made it! When the headmaster read out first prize, everyone jumped up and shouted with joy. They threw Zhao xiang up into the air. Zhao xiang felt great because he knew he was not just singing for himself but for the class as a team. 二、阅读理解
In the fall of 2022, my husband got a chance to spend three years in Nanjing teaching international law. When we got to China, I began to study Chinese. It was really hard for me to speak putonghua.
For me, it wasn’t the grammar. “I want to buy this book” is pretty straightforward: “我想买这本书”. And I could memorize lots of Chinese characters (hanzi). However, many words sound alike but mean something different. Take the sound “jiàn” for example, it always leaves me guessing—the warship (舰) or the arrow (箭), to meet (见) or to build (建)
Then, somewhere along the way, I started talking to people around me in chinese. I tried to communicate with the women in the markets about how to cook vegetables. Sometimes I talked to taxi drivers about the songs on the radio. Gradually I could listen to songs and understand the lyrics without looking them up. I finally reached the point where I could enjoy living in china without using a dictionary.
Now, as our year is up and we pack up to leave, I’m finding my Chinese has improved. I search Baidu maps in Chinese, keep my mobile phone contacts in Chinese, and send wechat messages to Chinese friends in Chinese. But mostly, I don’t worry about my performance anymore and enjoy every experience to speak Chinese. Every language is different. For me, finally, I’ve learned that the key to learning Chinese is to enjoy living in China.

How can you remember a song from your childhood to this day Why do your teachers use songs to teach you English It seems there is a scientific reason for this.
Researchers are now studying the relationship between music and remembering a foreign language. They find that remembering words in a song is the best way to remember even the most difficult language.
“Singing could be a new way of learning a foreign language. The brain likes to remember things when they are used in a catchy and meaningful way,” said Dr. Karen Ludke. The findings may help those who have difficulty learning foreign languages. On his blog, Dr. Ludke writes, “A listen-and-repeat singing method can support foreign language learning, and open the door for future research in this area.”
Many language teachers know the value of using music and singing. Hua Zhuying, a teacher at a Chinese language school in washington D.C. depends heavily on songs in teaching Chinese. She says, “I use music all the time to teach children Chinese. For little kids, we usually use English songs to teach them the Chinese lyrics. So it’s easy for them to start because they know the music. Not only does it work, but it is fun for the kids.” “Sometimes, I think if I were taught English that way, maybe I would speak much better English than now,” Hua Zhuying adds.
Our brain likes music, especially for remembering. So, if you still have problems in learning a language, why not try singing it out

Try to increase the number of your new words. If there are four or five new words on a page, write them in your notebook. But you don’t have to write them while you read. Instead, try to guess their meanings as you read: mark them with a pen. Then come back
when you have finished reading to look them up in a dictionary and write them in your own vocabulary book. Then try to remember them.
Try to read regularly. For example ,read for a short time once a day. Fifteen minutes every day is better than two hours every Sunday. Fix (固定) a time to read and keep to it. You could read for fifteen minutes when you go to bed, or when you get up or at lunchtime.
Read what interests you. Choose a book or a magazine about a subject that you like, because you are going to spend time and money reading it. So, choose an interesting book. You can also read newspapers. There are many English newspapers in China. For example, 21st century Teens. It is easy enough for you to understand. There is something interesting in it.

Do you understand English better than you can speak it That’s really normal. It’s the process of learning. Probably you have a lot more practice in listening and reading than in speaking. But speaking practice is equally essential for truly mastering the language. Here are some practical ways to help you improve your speaking skills.
One effective way is to actively use new words and phrases in imaginary conversations. When you learn a new word, think about how you can use it in your next conversation. For example, once you learn the word “excited”, imagine saying “I’m excited about the school trip next week!” practice by talking to yourself can help you feel more confident when speaking in a real-life context.
三、阅读表达(2025 邯郸二模)
Another helpful way is to connect new words and phrases to your existing (已有的) knowledge, like related words, company names, or song lyrics. Suppose you learn “ambitious (雄心勃勃的)”. You can think of a hard-working classmate and say, “He is so ambitious that he always sets high goals for himself ”. This makes it easier to remember new words.
Moreover, instead of just translating words in your head, write down any new words you learn in a complete sentence with a context. If you learn “efficient”, you can write “our new study method is more efficient than the old one”. Instead of a word for word translation, this helps you remember the sentence structure and how the word is used naturally.
Most importantly, avoid relying on a translator or AI. When you can’t think of an English word, try to describe what you mean in other English words. For example, if you can’t remember “elevator ”, say “the thing we use to go upstairs”. This trains your brain to think in English. This practice is crucial (关键的) because we won’t always have a translator at hand.
Remember, improving speaking skills requires active practice and progress takes time. So stay patient and keep practicing, and you’ll gradually speak more fluently.

Everyone has a dream, and so do I. When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of being different kinds of people. At first, I wanted to be a teacher because I thought it was cool to teach students new knowledge. I could see the sweet smiles on their faces when they understood something new. It felt like I was lighting up their minds. But later, after watching many exciting medical dramas on TV, I changed my mind. I hoped to become a doctor. I was deeply attracted by how doctors worked under pressure, using their skills to pull patients back from the edge of death. It seemed so amazing to me.
Now, as a middle school student, my dream is to be a scientist. I really like science, especially chemistry. I love doing experiments in the science lab at school. Every experiment is a source of wonder. Every time I see a chemical reaction happen, I feel so excited. I believe that science can change the world. I dream to make some great scientific discoveries in the future. Maybe I can find new ways to make our environment cleaner or develop better medicines to help sick people. I even dream of walking on the moon or even travelling to Mars one day.
I know that the path to becoming a scientist is long and full of difficulties. But I’m ready. To make my dream come true, I am working hard at all subjects, especially math and science. I will also read more books about science and attend science lectures. I am sure that as long as I keep trying my best, my dream will come true one day.

To achieve my goal, I will work hard to improve my English skills by reading more English books. I also plan to practice public speaking to become a better communicator. With these efforts, I believe I can make my dream come true.

Dreams can give us goals in life and make us work harder. With a dream, we can find happiness and become better people. My dream is to become a doctor, because doctors save lives and help people feel better.
To make my dream come true, I will try my best every day. First, I will listen to teachers carefully in the school. Next, I will read books about medicine and watch videos to learn more. China has made some changes in its food labels (标签) recently and three of them have become a heated topic.
To begin with, the government requires food labels should be made easier and clearer to read. Information, such as sugar, salt and unhealthy fats in their products, should be clearly included on the label. By doing so, the government hopes this will encourage healthier eating habits among people. At the same time, it is required that common allergens (过敏原) should be included on the label as well, which will possibly help people avoid risks.
Another new requirement is that labels such as “no additives (添加剂)” or “zero additives” should no longer be allowed. The government says labels like these have already led shoppers to believe that a product is healthy when it is in fact not. Take a famous food company as an example. In order to increase sales, the label “zero additives ” was added to its products, proving there were no harmful things. However, recently the label has been questioned. Tests have found small amounts of harmful additives in its products. Many people came to believe the “ zero” label was just a marketing lie.
The use of digital labels is also worth panies are being advised to have QR codes (二维码) included on food labels. This allows customers to get more information about the product. This is helpful for people who want to learn more about what they are eating. More than 400 products have already used this smart labeling system.

If you are in a bad mood, you might lie in bed, hide at home, or do nothing. In less than a day, your body will certainly have problems, and your mental (心理的) state will also be problematic. Here are some suggestions to help you guide moods.
Practice breathing. Taking a deep breath for yourself actually allows your emotions to calm down and become much more relaxed.
Gently touch your own Danzhong acupoint (膻中穴). Touching it makes you feel much better. If you don’t want to touch it, you can clap. Applauding (鼓掌) makes us happy. The palm (手掌) has a rich array of tactile neurons (触觉神经元), which make you feel very happy when you touch them. So applauding is not given to others—it’s for yourself.
Make sure to exercise. A ten-minute workout will produce positive effects, and a thirty-minute workout will produce beautiful results. Why The movement brings changes in neural circuits (神经回路), producing an important brain nutrient factor called brain-derived neurotropic factor, BDNF(脑源性神经营养因子), which is the “fertilizer (肥料)” of the brain.
When you encounter something uncomfortable, find something to do. What you do is not important. Just do it. Taking a shower, changing clothes, mopping the floor, singing and dancing, and even shouting can all help with your mood.

Emotion(情绪) Management
Emotions act as our body’s warning sign. Positive emotions help us stay healthy, but negative ones are bad for our health. Studies show that long-term stress or worry may harm the heart, stomach and brain. And it even weakens the body’s immune system (免疫系统). For example, too much worry can cause stomachaches, and stress often makes people forget things easily.
三、阅读表达(2025 石家庄模拟)
Positive emotions work like a protective umbrella. Research shows that people with positive emotions may have better heart health. What’s more, happiness improves our immune system and helps reduce pain. Scientists have found that happy people get fewer colds and feel less sick when they do. This shows that positive emotions are good medicine.
Negative emotions can be like dark clouds in our minds, but don’t worry—there are ways to manage them. First, take deep breaths if you feel upset. This will help your body relax quickly. Next, do some sports like running or playing ball games to reduce stress. Besides, share your feelings with people you trust, like parents or close friends. They might have great ideas for you! Finally, listen to your favorite songs to be happy. These methods can help calm your mind and manage negative emotions well.
Just like cleaning up old photos helps your phone work better, managing emotions keeps your mind clear. Don’t hide your emotions. Learning to live with them well is the secret to health.
