As a child, Farhan often climbed trees whenever she had problems, staying there until she calmed down. Nature has always been there for her. This is why she has been trying to be there for nature when it needs her help.Farhan brought her love for nature to her college years. She took a master’s degree in environmental management at the University of Queensland in Australia. In 2009, while studying at the university, she had an opportunity to work with Carbon Capture and Storage Institute, an international think tank that focused on carbon capture and storage to cut down emissions (排放), and earned some money. In 2012, along with several of her coworkers, she formed the Forest, Nature, and Environment of Ace h Foundation (HAkA).In 2014, HAkA achieved one huge victory, making an oil company pay $30 million for the damage it caused to the ecosystem. Farhan said this landmark victory was historic because it was the first time that Indonesia had fined a company for burning forests. Besides, HAkA also stopped the construction of a dam that put an elephant habitat in Indonesia at risk. HAkA, now a 12-year-old institution, also has programs for women such as assistant lawyer and citizen journalism training and forest guard groups.Farhan said they saw a need to empower women as protectors of the environment because women are much more affected by the effects of environmental destruction and climate change. The conservationist said disasters such as crop failures could affect the financial status (财政状况) of families, making it more likely for them to force women to be in arranged marriages to get out of poverty or relocate to areas full of violence (暴力).Farhan has won several awards and she commented, “The work should include everyone from all walks of life. The recognition belongs to all fighting on the ground.”24. What did nature mean to young Farhan A. A mother of all things. B. A shelter for wildlife.C. A magical theme park. D. A comforting partner.25. What drove Farhan to start HAkA A. Her working pressure. B. Her economic condition.C. Her program in university. D. Her passion from childhood.26. What does Paragraph 4 mainly talk about concerning HAKA A. Its strict standards. B. Its business model.C. Its major successes. D. Its running system.27. Why did Farhan call on women to be environmental fighters A. They are more subject to eco-crisis. B. Their hope for better jobs disappears.C. They are loaded with family duties. D. Their life is threatened (威胁) by violence.CRecently, a growing number of young Chinese prefer a zero-sugar diet, showing a health-focused and wellness-driven approach to life. This “zero sugar” trend has now moved from dining tables to social interactions, giving rise to the increasingly popular idea called “zero sugar socializing”.Zero sugar socializing refers to young people keeping a certain level of distance and independence in their relationships, avoiding relying too much on others for emotional comfort. Just like zero-sugar foods, this style of socializing stresses a non-sticky, non-dependent approach.According to the Insights Report on Social Trends in 2024 released by the Just So Soul Research Institute, young people today usually have around two close friends. When asked about their ideal state with friends, 54% of them chose “frequent contact while still having their own space”.In moments of loneliness, digital characters become new companions and ways of communication for netizens. “The popularity of digital friends and idols s comes from their down-to-earth nature, serving as ‘spiritual companions’,” wrote Xiaoqiaoliushui in a comment.“Choosing zero sugar socializing is an expression of young people’s pursuit (追求) of self-fulfillment,” noted Wang Zhongwu, a sociology professor at Shandong University. With busy study or work, young people now prefer friendships with low social costs, featuring a relaxed and fashionable atmosphere. The rise of this social mode stresses independence in interactions, turning socializing into a burden-free experience.“Zero sugar socializing isn’t equal to ‘zero socializing’ but rather encourages young people to put independence first in their connections,” said Wang. He believes it fits the trends of social development and meets the practical needs of modern life. However, while enjoying the ease and freedom brought by zero sugar socializing, young individuals should not overlook the pleasures and significance of traditional social interactions.28. Why does the author mention a zero-sugar diet in the first paragraph A. To give an example. B. To introduce the topic.C. To make comparisons. D. To support an argument.29. What can be learned about zero-sugar socializing A. It is a way to avoid social contact with others.B. It meets young people’s need for digital friends.C. It represents a choice for self-dependent relationships.D. It encourages young people to have more close friends.30. What might be a reason for the popularity of zero-sugar socializing A. It features zero social cost.B. It focuses on health and wellness.C. It makes up for young people’s loneliness.D. It leaves young people freedom and space.31. What can be a suitable title for the text A. A New Trend of Independent FriendshipB. The Rise of Zero-Sugar Diet Among Chinese YouthC. Digital Friends: The New Companions for Lonely NetizensD. Escape from Reality: How Young People Avoid Social InteractionDResearchers in Switzerland recently taught the one-armed, four-legged ANYmal search and rescue robot to play badminton against a human. This is not the first time robots have been trained to play sports. They’ve run marathons, skied and played ping pong. There’s even a football RoboCup.However, it’s not all fun and games. “Sports require skills,” says D’Andrea, a professor in robotics and AI(人工智能). “If you want to create robots that have the ability to deal with the physical environment, you can use sports as a way of training.” The skills can then be put to work in environments that are too dull, dirty, or dangerous for humans. Sports also catch people’s attention and serve as an interesting way to show new technological advances.Though the skills robots learn from sports are mostly used in factories or dangerous jobs, the technology is already becoming a big part of sports themselves. For example, technologies like electronic line-calling (ELC) are taking the place of line judges in tennis games. However, there’s doubt whether this improves the viewer experience. For the fans, the joy of sports is that you never know what will happen. If a robot tennis player takes the field, it might attract people’s attention at first but, after a while, would anyone want to watch it “People enjoy watching sports because they connect with the athletes. Anything that lets robots play instead of these athletes is not going to be a success,” says D’Andrea. The same is likely true for anything where human’s feelings play a central part. For over twenty years, the Japanese government has spent billions in developing robots for elderly people in care homes. But the use has been low, and it has so far shown the robots create more work for carers than they alleviate. There’s a difference between pushing what tech can do and applying those tools in the wrong places. So, for now, sports people can rest easy. “I think we have to be careful that we don’t go too far just to save time and effort,” says D’Andrea. “I would ask the question: why do we want to take the place of people ”32. Why are sports used to train robots A. To test robots’ sporting ability. B. To improve athletes’ sports skills.C. To draw public attention to sports. D. To develop skills for real-world tasks.33. What is the key to a successful viewer experience A. Match results. B. Human’s feelings.C. Athletes’ efforts. D. Advanced technologies.34. What does the underlined word “alleviate” in Paragraph 5 mean A. Arrange. B. Stress. C. Reduce. D. Change.35. What is the best title for the passage A. Robot Athletes All for Fun! B. When that happens, try spending some quiet time alone and ask yourself: What did I love doing as a kid that made time fly 36 It’s simple, but it’s a good place to start rediscovering your hobbies and interests.Have you ever been so into a game, drawing, or music that you completely lost track of time That’s what is called the “flow state”. 37 I might find it on my roller skates, while you might find it through basketball or writing stories. When you enter this state, it lifts your general happiness.Even so, many of us feel bad for taking time for hobbies. We’re often pressured to live a certain way: work hard, achieve measurable success, and always stay busy. However, if you keep pushing yourself without a break, you’ll finally run out. 38 . But it gets easier over time. Having a hobby isn’t a waste of time— it’s a way to renew your energy. The good news is, you don’t need hours of free time to enjoy your hobbies. If what you love isn’t something you can do during the day, look for tiny moments of joy. 39 You could also play basketball for ten minutes after school. These small breaks become little islands of peace in a busy student life.40 Start small, stay gentle with yourself, and remember: this isn’t selfish—it’s self-care. Dear Peter,I’m really excited to share with you my School Hike to a rural village last week. Our day began with a long and pleasant hike across green wheat fields that stretched as far as the eye could see. It is the first in a series of three, the other two being healthy eating and responsible drinking. As you may know, when the anti-smoking campaign came in a few years ago, the number of smokers went down dramatically. However, since then, recent reports show that these figures have been going up again, particularly among the under 20s. This video is designed to discourage teenagers from taking up the habit. The video itself follows a few days in the life of an unhealthy teenager and the effects smoking is having on him. This is quite different from the lives of those of his healthier, more active friends. Basically, we want to get across the idea that there’s a cost linked with smoking -a cost in terms of money, friends and your health. OK, has anybody got any questions 2 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源列表 江苏盐城市建湖县上冈高级中学2025-2026学年4月高一年级第二学期第一次学分认定考试英语学科试题.docx 英语听力.mp3
