The Silk Road
Once, in a desert, three businessmen rested in a small hotel. They came from different places: a silk trader from Chang’an, China, a horse trader from India, and a tea trader from Shanxi, China.
The silk trader was a tall and thin man. He traveled with a group from Chang’an. They sold silk and Chinese goods along the roads to the Middle East and parts of Europe. Everywhere they went, people welcomed Chinese culture and products warmly.

The horse trader, an Indian man, learned Chinese through the trade between India and China. His usual route took him from Xizang to Sichuan. He crossed rivers and mountains. The route was difficult, but he found joy in experiencing new cultures.
The tea trader, an old man from Shanxi, came with a long line of traders. They relied on camels and horses to transport goods to northwestern China. For the old man, trading on this route was not just for making a living; it was more about passing down the family tradition.
