Read about Ma Li's day and order the events.
Last Friday started terribly. First, my alarm clock didn’t go off, so I woke up late and had to rush to the bus stop.
When I finally reached my classroom, out of breath, my teacher was already waiting at the door. Many others were also late because of the rainstorm. As a result, she said we weren't having a test after all! What luck on my unlucky day!
By the time the bus came, I was cold and wet. I was still worrying about the test when the bus driver said that we would be late. There was a landslide along our usual road.
I had a test that morning, so I was reviewing my notes while I was waiting for my bus. All of a sudden, thunder rolled across the sky. Then it started to pour. The wind was too strong for me to use my umbrella!

识别并运用表示时间或连接事件的词汇、短语,比如:表示时间先后:First(首先),Then(然后),By the time(到······时候),When(当······时),All of a sudden(突然)等;表示因果或结果:so(所以),As a result(结果)等。
1. It was a common weekday, but unexpected bad weather turned my usual day into an unforgettable experience.
2. I still remember the afternoon when a sudden thunderstorm hit while I was on my way home from school.
3. Last Saturday, what started as a sunny morning quickly changed into a terrible snowstorm that I'll never forget.

1. At first, the sky only got a little dark, but soon strong winds began to blow and dark clouds covered the whole sky.
2. Suddenly, heavy rain poured down, and raindrops hit the ground with a loud “pat-pat” sound.
3. After that, thunder roared loudly and lightning flashed, making the street look bright for a moment.
1. I hurried to find a place to hide, holding my schoolbag tightly and feeling both scared and worried.
2. I tried to walk forward, but the wind was so strong that I could hardly stand straight.
3. My clothes got completely wet, and I felt cold all over, hoping to get home soon.
1. That experience not only made me realize the power of nature but also taught me to stay calm in unexpected situations.
2. Although the day was full of twists, it became a valuable memory that helped me learn to prepare for sudden weather changes.
3. Looking back at that stormy day, I know it's important to keep calm and think of ways to protect myself when facing bad weather.
A Day of Unexpected Weather
It was a usual Tuesday afternoon. At 3 p.m., the sky turned dark gray suddenly. At first, I thought it would just be light rain and kept walking home from school.
Suddenly, strong winds blew hard. Raindrops hit my face like small stones. I rushed to a bus stop shelter, but the heavy rain flooded the street soon. Thunder roared and lightning flashed, making me scared and cold as I held my schoolbag tightly.
Just then, my neighbor Uncle Li drove by and offered me a ride. We got home safely by 4:30 p.m. Mum dried me and made hot chocolate. Finally, the rain stopped at 6 p.m., leaving a rainbow. That afternoon taught me to stay calm and prepare for sudden weather changes!

1.It was very hard to fight the fires because of the high temperatures and changeable winds, but the rescue workers refused to give up.
(1)句中It不是真正的主语,真正主语是后面的to fight the fires。
句型:It + be 动词(am/is/are/was/were)+ 形容词 + to do sth.(真正主语).

The lights went off all of a sudden.
The river flows across the village.

It rained heavily. As a result, we canceled the picnic.
