不完全爆破是指爆破音(/p, b, t, d, k, g/)在特定情况下不完整释放气流,仅作出发音姿势而不完全爆破的现象。
(1) 爆破音 + 爆破音
当一个爆破音后面紧跟另一个爆破音时,第一个爆破音失去爆破(仅作口型停顿,不释放气流)。
爆破音(6个): /p, b, t, d, k, g/
示例:
/t/ + /k/: act kind [ k (短暂停顿) ka nd]
/d/ + /g/: bad girl [b (短暂停顿) g l]
/p/ + /t/: stop talking [st (短暂停顿) t k ]
(2) 爆破音 + 摩擦音/破擦音
爆破音后接摩擦音(如 /f, v, s, z/)或破擦音(如 /t , d /)时,爆破音不完全释放。
摩擦音(9个):/f, v, θ, , s, z, , , h/
破擦音(2个):/t , d /
示例:
/t/ + / /: white shoes /wa (短暂停顿) u z/
/d/ + / /: and that [ n(短暂停顿) t]
/k/ + /s/: taxi ['t (短暂停顿)si]
(3) 爆破音 + 鼻音/边音
爆破音后接鼻音(/m, n, /)或边音(/l/)时,爆破音通过鼻腔或舌侧释放,而非口腔爆破。
示例:/t/ + /n/: button /'b (短暂停顿)n/
