A[2025枣庄中考]
From an early age, I began to like Chinese culture a lot. When there was a chance to study in Beijing as an exchange student, I took it at once. In my first 24 hours in Beijing, I felt very nervous. I didn't see one foreigner. But on my first day of school, I was greeted by many foreign faces. The students came from all over the world. I would be in a class with Chelsea from Norway and Charlie from my motherland—the UK.
None of us had studied Chinese before, but our language skills improved quickly. By the end of the first month, we could all make simple sentences. Some of these sentences, though, were quite funny. We often sent our language teacher Sophie into wild laughter. We had a happy time together.
The first month was very tiring. There were so many new things to learn. Thankfully, our school organized many events for students. We talked a lot about cultural differences and our future plans. It was a great chance for us to practice speaking Chinese.
In October, my Chinese friend Zhen Hua showed me around the city. He took me to some of his favorite restaurants. Chinese table manners were very different from those in the West. Eating Chinese food was like an adventure, and it became my favorite part about living in Beijing.
My six-month stay in China made me excited. I want to visit China again to look for more adventures.

B[2025泰安中考]
围棋 Weiqi, commonly known as Go in English, is a board game that originated in ancient China. The game is considered one of the Four Arts that Chinese literati(文人) were required to master. Besides Weiqi, they had to learn Chinese calligraphy (shu), painting (hua) and guqin playing (qin).
Weiqi has a history of over 4,000 years, even older than Chinese chess. According to some historical records, the game, known as Yi in its early years, is said to have been invented by Yao(尧). Seeing that his son had a bad temper(脾气), Yao was rather worried. So he decided to find something that could help educate his son, and a simple board game came to him.
The rules of Weiqi are simple: using black and white stones(棋子), two players take turns placing their stones on empty cross points of the board. The goal is to surround(包围) a larger total area on the board while preventing one's own stones from being taken by the opponent(对手). Stones do not move and are only taken off the board if they are completely surrounded.
The scene of two people playing Weiqi appears in many traditional Chinese paintings. The image of a player holding a stone over the board, looking for a place to put it, was later turned into a popular Chinese idiom(成语), which means “unsure about making a move”. The expression is still widely used today.
With its development, Weiqi grew in popularity. Later, it spread to Japan, South and North Korea and Western countries. Today, it has become an international board game.

Talk to people you disagree with
Everyone sometimes has disagreements with friends or family members. For example, you might not agree about what game to play, which restaurant makes the best pizza. 1. Disagreements are uncomfortable. There are some steps you can take to make the conversation meaningful. Here is how.
See their attitude
Even if you disagree with others, you can still listen to what they say. Let them know that you're paying attention to them by listening carefully with interest. Another way to show that you're listening is by asking questions or repeating what they said. 2.____
Use polite language
When someone has an opinion you don't agree with, don't pay more attention to it. 3. Instead, focus on speaking calmly(沉着地). For example, you may begin with “I feel” or “I see this another way”.
Stick to the facts
If you have a strong opinion, it's better to stick to the facts instead of feelings. 4. Then relax your shoulders and speak in a calm voice. If you are stopped by some person, you can remind the person that it's your turn to speak. Then give him another chance to speak later.
Find common ground
If you find that you can't change the other person's mind, and they may not change yours. 5. You may also get a better understanding of each other's opinion. In the end, it's worth the effort because healthy communication builds strong relationships and communities.
A. Still, look for the points you agree on. B. Start by asking if you can share your opinion. C. If this happens to you, you'd better say sorry to your friends. D. Avoid using impolite adjectives, like “stupid” “foolish”or “silly”. E. You can start by saying, “OK. I understand you, you are saying...” F. 摄像头新规:防范个人隐私泄露 Have you seen cameras in malls or on the streets They're there to help keep us safe. However, if there are too many cameras or if they're put up without permission(允许), they can be bad for our privacy(隐私).
Starting April l, China introduced new rules to better use these cameras. The rules make it clear who can install(安装) them and where they can be placed. According to the rules, only relevant government departments(政府有关部门) and management units(经营管理单位) can set up public cameras. The rules don't allow cameras in places like hotel rooms and changing rooms. So, can we still install a camera at our front door The answer is yes. Professor Liu Weijun from the People's Public Security University of China told CCTV that the area in front of your home isn't public, so you can use it for safety. However, it shouldn't harm others' privacy or safety.
The new rules also explain how people can use the videos. They are only for lawful purposes, like solving crimes and emergency response. For example, if a child goes missing, the family can watch the video after getting permission, Professor Che Hao from Peking University told the People's Daily.
The rules also explain how to check camera use in our daily lives to protect privacy. Cameras in public areas must have clear signs. If you see a camera without a sign, you can report it to the police.
