Have you ever shown your photos on your favorite social media (媒体) Or have you expressed your feelings and emotions on your online page If yes, do you know what you have posted on the social media can cause problems you could not expect
Cathy, who is going to be fifteen, posted online an invitation to her birthday party with her address in it. And guess what! 500 people came to the party, and some even broke the windows and plants, making a total mess of the house. The girl’s birthday party finally became a nightmare (噩梦).
Many teenagers think they know everything about social media, and that such a thing could never happen to them. Studies show that each year more than three million young people in the world get into trouble because of their online activities.
So do remember these if you really want to share something online.
Share with care! Not everyone will like what you write online. Think before you post anything. You never know who sees your texts, pictures or videos. Before clicking “post”, you should ask yourself, “How will I feel if my family or teachers see this ” and “How might this post be bad for me in five or ten years from now ”
Be polite when you write! Imagine someone is unfriendly in real life. The same is true of online communication. No one likes it when you “shout” in your messages. If you feel angry or frustrated while you’re writing a message, wait a bit. Read it again later and then send it.
Protect and respect! Never share your passwords with anyone. It’s not wise to post your home or email address online. Don’t say bad things about people. If you get messages like that or see them online, talk to your parents or your teachers.
I’d say none of these things promises (承诺) 100% online safety, but each will help you to be safer.

Life circle of monarch butterfly
In the last 25 years, the population (总数) of monarch butterflies has reduced by hundreds of millions, according to
(根据) the Wildlife Service Species report. The black and orange butterflies face insecticides (杀虫剂), loss of milkweed—the plant monarchs lay eggs on and the caterpillars’ only food, and habitat (栖息地) loss.
City people making a difference
The smaller population led Field Museum researchers in Chicago to ask: what makes a successful monarch garden Hasle, an ecologist (生态学家) at the Field Museum, and Karen Klinger, a geographer, are working to answer that question. Many stops along the monarchs migratory route (迁徙路线) are trying to help out the butterfly, looking for more places where milkweed might grow. “We think, in one way, cities are giving an important place for a lot of insects (昆虫),” Hasle said. Although the project is still very new, there are already some findings. Unlike some other field work derailed by the environment, the monarch project worked well with more people staying home to watch over their gardens.
According to the weekly reports participants (参与者) sent, more successful gardens had more milkweed and flowering plants or much larger fields. But Klinger said one participant with only one plant watched eggs change all the way to a chrysalis. “So,” she said, “you just need one plant.”
________
In 2020, during the second season of the study, the number of caterpillars dropped, even though there were more participants.
Chicago saw a hot, dry summer in 2020, which may have affected (影响) the health of the milkweed plants. In 2021, the reports out of Mexico noted illegal logging (非法砍伐), as well as trees hit by wind and drought (干旱). But they also said spring and summer weather were hard for milkweed flowers and egg development in the southern U.S., which affected the growth of butterflies.
Not giving up
Now is the perfect time to start planning to plant some milkweed, Hasle and Klinger said.
“The best thing to do is what you can do,” Hasle said. “One milkweed plant in a pot (花盆) on your window board is doing something. Probably it gives you something to look forward to during the boring winter in Chicago.”
32.According to the report, which is NOT the reason for the reduced populations of monarch butterflies
A.The habitat loss. B.The colors of caterpillars.
C.The use of insecticides. D.The loss of milkweed.

How much do you know about Chinese oil-paper umbrellas They are not just tools (工具) to keep people away from rain or sunlight, but also works of art (艺术品) with rich cultural meaning in China.
Chinese oil-paper umbrellas are one of the world’s oldest umbrellas. According to historical records, the first oil-paper umbrella came out during the Eastern Han Dynasty. They soon became very popular, especially among the literati (文人). They loved to write and draw on the umbrella to show their literacy tastes and painting skills.
Oil-paper umbrellas are a necessary part of traditional Chinese weddings (婚礼). A red oil-paper umbrella is needed when the bride (新娘) goes into the groom’s home. That’s because people believe the umbrella can help stop bad luck. Also, the sound of oil-paper in Chinese sounds like “youzi”, which means having more children.
It takes quite a lot of time and effort to make a Chinese oil-paper umbrella by hand. Luzhou in southwest China’s Sichuan Province is now the only main production place for handmade oil-paper umbrellas in China. There, craftsmen (手艺人) must complete more than 90 steps and use over 100 different tools to make a single umbrella. With all their efforts, a traditional oil-paper umbrella made in Luzhou can stand strong winds and 3,000 openings and closings.
