什么是从属连词？
从属连词是指用以引导复合句中从句的连词。在复合句中，用作状语的从句叫作状语从句。状语从句可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、结果、目的和让步等类型。

一、although的用法
从属连词although、until、so that和if引导的状语从句
although意为“即使；尽管”，引导让步状语从句，可用though替换。
例句：They got on well together although/though they were total strangers.
虽然他们完全是陌生人，但他们在一起相处得很好。
尽管队伍输了，但队员们仍为他们自己感到骄傲。

二、until的用法
1. until意为“直到……为止”，引导时间状语从句，主句谓语动词用延续性动词。
例句：By law, you are a child until you are 18.
从法律角度讲，你一直到18岁都是个儿童。
例句：I won’t leave until the rain stops. 我直到雨停才会走。
2. “not...until...”意为“直到……才……”，主句谓语动词通常用非延续性动词。
三、so that的用法
1. so that意为“为了，以便”，引导目的状语从句，一般放在主句后，且不用逗号隔开，相当于in order that，从句谓语中多含有can、could、will、may等情态动词。
例句：I gave you a map so that (=in order that) you wouldn’t get lost.
我给你一张地图以免你迷路。
2. so that 还可引导结果状语从句，意为“因此，所以”。 此时从句中一般不含情态动词。
例句：He practised every day, so that he made great progress.
他每天练习，所以他取得了很大的进步。
四、if的用法
if意为“如果；假若”，引导条件状语从句。含if引导的条件状语从句的复合句通常遵循“主将从现”“主情从现”或“主祈从现”原则。
例句：I will come if I’m free. 我有空的话会来。
（主句用一般将来时，从句用一般现在时）
例句：You can buy it if you really like it. 你若真的喜欢它，就可以买它。
（主句含情态动词，从句用一般现在时）
例句：If you see him, give him this note. 你若见到他，把这张便条给他。
（主句是祈使句，从句用一般现在时）
