Step 1. Lead-in Activity: Warm-up Discussion Ask students to look at the unit opening photo and answer the Look and share questions. Invite 2-3 students to share, then introduce: "Today we'll learn about some of the world's most amazing natural wonders and how to describe them." Step 2. Presentation Activity 1: Complete 1a (Match Places to Pictures) Present the six natural wonders and their pictures. Ask students to match each place to its photo. Check answers and practice pronunciation of each place name. Activity 2: Introduce Superlative Adjectives Explain superlative adjectives and their use in describing unique natural features. Step 3. Practice Activity 1: Complete 1b Play the first listening recording. Ask students to fill in the Description column with superlatives.Check answers and discuss the meaning of each description. Activity 2: Complete 1c Play the recording again. Ask students to fill in the measurement column with the correct numbers from the list. Practice saying large numbers together. Activity 3: Pair Work: Number Pronunciation Drill Give students a list of large numbers. Students take turns saying the numbers aloud, with their partner checking for accuracy. Step . Production Activity 1: Complete 1d (Talk About Natural Wonders) Model the dialogue with a student. Ask Ss to work in pairs to create similar dialogues using the information from 1b-1c. Activity 2: Extend the Discussion Ask students: "Which natural wonder would you most like to visit Why " Step 5. Summary Vocabulary: Natural wonders and superlatives. Target Sentences: --What's the ... place on earth --It's the ... Its measurement is ... Numbers: Large numbers (e.g., 8,848.86, 9,000,000). Step 6. Homework Basic: Copy the natural wonder names and their descriptions 2 times, and practice saying the large numbers aloud. Improving: Write 3 sentences describing natural wonders. Advanced: Research one natural wonder and write a 4-sentence paragraph about it, including its location and one unique fact. Connect to the unit theme, activate prior knowledge, and build interest in natural wonders. Build vocabulary for natural wonders and link words to visual images. Introduce key grammar for describing natural wonders. Train students to listen for descriptive superlatives. Train students to listen for precise measurements and practice large number pronunciation.
