Maple syrup comes from maple trees. People get it from big maple tree farms in the countryside.
Culture Tips
Groundhog Day is on February 2. On that day, a small animal called groundhog comes out of its hole in the ground.
If it’s sunny, the groundhog comes out of its hole, sees its shadow(影子), and goes back into its hole. This means winter will last six more weeks.
If it's cloudy, the groundhog can't see its shadow and stays outside. This means spring will come soon.

How are you I’m so happy to know about spring in Edmonton. It’s really interesting! Now I want to tell you something about spring in my city.
The spring weather here is different from yours. It’s warm and gentle, and the temperature is usually around 10℃ to 20℃. We often have soft wind and light rain. They make all the plants grow fast and flowers start to bloom. The whole city is full of green and colourful flowers. It’s neither too cold nor too hot, so it’s nice for going outside.
Post-writing
I have lots of fun activities to do in spring. On weekends, I usually go for
bike rides with my friends in the park. When the wind is nice, we fly kites
in the square and it’s so exciting!
We have some special customs to welcome spring. The most important
one is Tomb-sweeping Day. On that day, we visit our ancestors(祖先)’
tombs, clean the area and bring some flowers. It’s a time to remember
our family members. Besides, people also like to go for spring outings.

We go to the mountains to get close to nature and welcome the new spring
together.

Language points

“not...until...”表示某一动作或状态一直到until所表示的时间为止才发生，之前并未发生。
