弱读 (Unstressed Words)
一般来说,句子中传达重要意义的实词常常会重读,在句子中起粘合作用的助动词、代词、连词、冠词、情态动词等常常会弱读,弱读时,音发得短而快。这些词往往都有自己的弱读音形式(weak form)。
eg:A: Why do you /duj / like pandas
B: Because they're / e / very cute.
A: What are you / ju/ doing
B: We're /w / jogging.
英语中的助动词和情态动词在句子开头往往弱读,在句子末尾一般重读。
