Tea has long been a popular drink in China.Chinese people love different kinds of tea.Among them, black tea and white tea from Fujian, green tea from Zhejiang and Anhui, and dark tea from Yunnan are some of the favorites.
In the Song Dynasty(960—1279),tea culture reached new heights. The beauty of the Song tea came alive through diancha. Powdered(粉状的)tea was whisked(搅打)with water into soft “clouds”.White tea was often used to make the “clouds”as white as the moonlight.Tea artists used clean water to draw pictures on them with a teaspoon. The way of serving diancha became a living art.It later influenced Japanese tea culture.Today, more young people are learning and passing it on.
Yunnan's dark tea, especially Pu'er, got famous because of the Ancient Tea-Horse Road.
And it won popularity around the world. In 1976,Frenchman Fred Kempler found a new kind of Pu'er from Yunnan in a Hong Kong shop.In the same year,he visited Yunnan, bought nearly two tons, and began to sell“Yunnan Tuocha”in Europe.Since 1986,Yunnan's Pu'er Tuocha has got many prizes at food expos(博览会)in France,America and other countries.Today you can see an old Australian lady holding a cup of tea of sun-dried Pu'er,though she still enjoys her English- style black tea with milk and sugar.Tea is a bridge of friendship among nations and peoples.
Tea is enjoyed timelessly from ancient to modern times. Each cup of diancha,as white as the moonlight, turned tea into art,and art into eternity(永恒).Tea is also loved globally from the East to the West. Each cup of Pu'er,with the smell of sunshine, turns tea into friendship, and friendship into a shared future.

The library is just seven square meters in size but houses thousands of books on different subjects.“It might be the smallest library in the world,”said Xu Dawei, the owner.“But in another sense,it's also the biggest because the books keep moving.Once,a reader took a book on Chinese garden history. After finishing it,the reader passed it to a neighbor. The neighbor then took it to Germany!”
“I've read thousands of books,”Xu said.“Books have truly changed my life.”The idea of starting a library took shape in 2000,when Xu recommended(推荐)online a list of his favorite books to university students, but many of them said they couldn't find those books in their school libraries or local bookstores. So he began sending his books to readers for free.“They all wrote me letters expressing their thanks. It inspired me to take it farther, turning my book-gifting into a physical space,”Xu said.
“All the readers have to do is come.Even if they finish a book and decide not to pass it on,at least the book benefited(使受益)one person and perhaps their family, helping them fall in love with reading,”Xu said.“And this is my dream.”

As we often use eyes to touch nature, most of us“lose”the ability to listen to the world.
Peter writes music. He likes sounds and uses natural sounds as part of his music. He often went out to the wild with his microphone and recorded interesting sounds to put them in movies or to use them in his own songs. Instead of trying to capture just the sound of one animal or bird,he recorded the sound of everything all together—the animals, the trees, the wind and the earth. He called these recordings“soundscapes”—the sound of a certain place.Every soundscape Peter recorded had a lot of information.
Back in his workshop,Peter used a computer to make a picture of all the sounds going on in a place. Each animal, bird and insect had its own place on the picture—its own notes in the music. The busier the picture, the richer the life in that place.“While a picture may be worth 1,000 words,a soundscape is worth 1,000 pictures,”Peter said.“Our ears tell us the sound of every leaf and animal and speak to the natural sources(来源)of our lives, which may hold the secrets of love for all things, especially our own humanity."
But not everything is satisfying. When Peter began recording over forty years ago,he could record for ten hours and get one hour of usable material good enough for a movie. Now,because of human activities,it can take up to 1,000 hours or more to get the same thing. Some of the places he has recorded over the years have slowly fallen silent. His sound pictures show that although nature might look the same to humans,it has lost part of its orchestra(管弦乐队).
So next time you are in the forests, try another way to look—shut your eyes, and listen.
( )13.Why did Peter record natural sounds
A.To write songs for a music group.
B.To discover rich lives in the forest.
C.To use some of them in his music.
D.To make music about birds singing.
( )14.What is a sound picture in the text
A.The sound of every leaf and animal in nature.
B.The sound recorded in the natural environment.
C.A picture of music with sounds of 1,000 animals.
D.A picture of music with natural sounds in a place.
( )15.What can we learn from Paragraph 4
A.Recording sounds needs less material.
B.Sound pictures are the same as before.
C.Some beautiful sounds in nature are lost.
D.Human activities improve recording results.
( )16.What does the writer mainly want to tell us
A.Nature is the source of our future. B.Nature has wonders to be heard.
C.Making music enriches our lives. D.Making music needs information.
