Success is often seen as the opposite (对面) of failure. For teenagers, it means achieving goals like good grades or getting along well with classmates. Some schools once judged success mostly by grades, but now they focus more on moral (道德) education and character-building to help students succeed in human relationships.
Schools provide chances for students to find their hidden talents. For example, those good at speaking can join speech competitions, and those interested in arts can perform for classmates. Teenagers can also feel successful by joining their favourite clubs.
Teenagers learn that success needs hard work. Great efforts are needed for projects. They should avoid doing things later than planned, which leads to too much work and stress. Another important quality is responsibility, which helps them finish tasks.
Sticking to moral values is also key to success. Honest teenagers win the trust of friends, leading to good relationships. Self-motivation (自我激励) is another important quality, as self-motivated teens have the strong will and drive to finish a task and enjoy a sense of achievement.

When I was a kid, my mum often let me help her make popcorn on cold winter nights. We would get out a pan, some oil and butter (黄油), and wait for the first popcorn to jump with an exciting sound. Then, we would shake the pan over the stove (炉子) to keep the popcorn from burning—shake, shake, shake, and pop, pop—until the pan was filled with delicious popcorn! Mum would pour it all into a big bowl and add some salt on top.
Later, we would all come to the living room. Dad would sit in his chair, while my mum, brothers, and I would relax on the sofa. There was always a lot of popcorn to share, and Mum even let me eat the half-popped kernels (玉米粒). The funny thing is that I have already forgotten the shows we watched, but I still remember the smell of the popcorn, the warmth of the bowl, and the joy of being with my family. I felt so loved, safe and happy. We didn’t have a big house, expensive snacks or much money, but our love for each other was everything.
