Dumplings, my favourite food
Dumplings are a traditional Chinese food. People in the north have the tradition of eating dumplings during festivals.
Dumplings have a wide variety of flavours, which vary according to fillings. Among all the fillings, I like a mixture of the Chinese cabbage and meat because each bite of it will relieve me of the tiredness and give me the taste of home that I cry out for. When making dumplings, we should first fill the wrappers with the mixture of fillings and then stick the edges of the wrappers together.
Making dumplings is really teamwork. Not only can making dumplings establish an emotional bond but it also represents the reunion of families.

Through their music journey, the Beatles were a force for change, with their varied music styles—from basic rock and roll music to complicated and progressive sounds. Their music is always joyous and hopeful for a better future. Listening to their songs always gives me inner strength to face everything in life.

A Wonderful Golden Autumn Concert
The golden autumn concert that we had been looking forward to was held in our school stadium on Saturday morning, October 5th. It started at 8:30, lasting about three hours.
At first, our headmaster gave the opening speech and then the hosts announced the performances began. All performances were given by our school students and teachers. There were Chinese classical music, Western music, modern dance, popular songs and so on. Our monitor played a piece of classical Chinese music with the Guzheng, which won loud applause. The modern dance performed by the young teachers pushed the concert to the climax and the concert ended with applause and cheers.
After the concert, we felt excited. Not only did it offer us relief from study pressure but also it lifted our spirits.

As for me, I prefer traditional and classical music. Traditional music is just like a thick book, which can be read slowly and repeatedly. There are many traditional arts in China, such as calligraphy, painting, paper-cutting, and opera, to name just a few. Of all these traditional arts, Chinese painting is my top preference.

This May Day saw numerous visitors to the “Meet the Artists” exhibition in our city museum. I enjoyed every second of the show and was particularly attracted by Van Gogh’ s Starry Night and the Sunflowers. Exposed to his colors, forms and imagination, I seemed to have reached his passionate inner world.
Overall, the exhibition was well-organized and informative. However, it would be better if more information about the artists and their backgrounds were provided.
