一、祈使句
祈使句一般用来表示请求、命令、劝说、号召、警告等。祈使句的主语一般是第二人称you,但往往省略。为表示礼貌,祈使句经常在句首或句末加please,句末用please时,前面通常加逗号。如:Put on your seat belt, please.= Please put on your seat belt. 请系上安全带。
常见的祈使句类型如下:
①以系动词be开头的祈使句。如:Be polite! 要有礼貌!
②Don’t+动词原形+其他。如:Don’t be late for class! 上课不要迟到!
③Let+主语+动词原形+其他。如:Let’s turn off our phones. 让我们关掉手机吧。
④No+动词 ing/名词,表示“禁止”。如:No parking! 禁止停车!No photos!禁止拍照!
二、情态动词can,have to,must
1. can(详见七上Unit 5)
can表示许可时,意为“可以”。其否定形式为can’t。
如:You can use my pen, but you can’t take it home.
你可以用我的笔,但不可以把它带回家。
—Can Anne watch TV on weekdays 安妮可以在工作日看电视吗?
—Yes, she can./No, she can’t. 是的,她可以。/不,她不可以。
2. have to
have to 意为“必须;不得不”,侧重于客观上的需要。have to可以用于不同的时态,有人称和数的变化。其否定形式为don’t/doesn’t have to,意为“不必;不需要”。
(1) 肯定句:主语 + have/has to + 动词原形(+ 其他).
如:We have to be quiet in the library. 我们在图书馆里必须保持安静。
(2) 否定句:主语 + don’t/doesn’t have to + 动词原形(+ 其他).
如:You don’t have to tell him about it. 你不必把这件事告诉他。
(3) 一般疑问句:Do/Does + 主语 + have to + 动词原形(+其他)
肯定回答:Yes, 主语 + do/does.
否定回答:No, 主语 + don’t/doesn’t.
如:—Does Mary have to follow the rules 玛丽必须遵守规则吗?
—Yes, she does./No, she doesn’t. 是的,她必须遵守。/不,她不必遵守。
3. must
must 意为“必须”,侧重于说话者的主观看法。must没有人称、时态和数的变化。其否定形式为mustn’t,意为“不准;禁止”。
(1) 肯定句:主语 + must + 动词原形(+ 其他).
如:You must be careful when you ride a bike. 你骑自行车的时候必须小心。
(2) 否定句:主语 + mustn’t + 动词原形(+ 其他).
如:You mustn’t talk to your mother like that. 你不准和你妈妈那样说话。
(3) 一般疑问句:Must + 主语 + 动词原形(+其他)
肯定回答:Yes, 主语 + must.
否定回答:No, 主语 + don’t/doesn’t have to.
