三、 阅读理解(本题共20小题;第一节每小题2分,第二节每小题1分,满分35分)
  第一节 请认真阅读下列短文,从短文后各题所给的A、 B、 C、 D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

A
Improvements in technology often happen overnight. Some gadgets(小器具) get smaller and faster. Others are replaced(代替) by newer things like smartphones. Here are some old gadgets that people used to use.

Do you have a landline at home? These are phones that people plug(插入) into their living room walls. Mobile phones didn’t use to be so popular at that time, so most families had a landline. But landlines only worked at home. What did people do when they were outside and needed to call someone? They looked for a pay phone! Now, most people have their own mobile phones and many homes no longer have landlines.

People today store plenty of information online, or on SD cards. But in the 1980s and 1990s, people used to use floppy disks. The first floppy disks were large, expensive, and not very useful—each disk could store just 175 KB of information! Later, floppy disks got smaller and better. But even the best ones could only hold 1.44 MB. You would need three or four disks just for one song, and about 22,000 disks to match the storage(储存空间) available on a 32 GB phone!

It’s easy to take photos today. People often have thousands of photos just in their phones! But photos used to cost much, and people took fewer of them. To take a photo, you had to buy a roll of film. This allowed you to take up to 30 photos. After finishing the roll, you left it at a shop. The shop developed the photos to make them be seen, which you could collect after a few days.
Technology changes all the time, and the gadgets we use today will one day be old. What do you think will be next to disappear?

( B )26. What is the title for each paragraph?
a. Goodbye disks b. Music to my ears c. Picture this
d. Call me e. Film development
A. ①—d; ②—b; ③—e B. ①—d; ②—a; ③—c
C. ①—c; ②—a; ③—b D. ①—c; ②—b; ③—e
B

( D )27. What can we learn from the passage?
A. No homes have landlines now.
B. Floppy disks could store much information.
C. You could take 40 photos with a roll of film.
D. The improvements in technology change people’s life.
( D )28. What would be the best title for the passage?
A. The changing phones
B. The gadgets of tomorrow
C. The gadgets we are using
D. The tools we used to use
D
D

B(核心素养·语言能力)
阿拉伯语学习
“Motasharefon bema’ refatek!” is often heard in Arabs’ daily talks. This greeting in the language Arabic means “Nice to meet you!” You may find Arabic difficult to understand, but the following facts can offer you some basics.
Arabic is a language of over twenty countries across the Middle East and North Africa. It’s also one of the six official languages of the UN. Now about 400 million people worldwide speak Arabic.

Arabic has different varieties(种类). One of them is Modern Standard Arabic. It is taught at schools in all Arabic-speaking countries and used formally in media. Colloquial Arabic is another variety that people in the Arab world usually use in their everyday life.
Arabic is written from right to left in a beautiful and flowing script. Written Arabic is formed from eighteen different curves with dots ( ) above or below. The curve ( ) with one dot below is pronounced /b/, two on top is /t/, and three on top is /θ/, while the curve ( ) with two dots below is pronounced /y/.

A main feature of Arabic is the three letter root(根) system. Almost every Arabic word is based on a root of three letters. If you take a root and add other letters to it, you can create many words related(关联) to the meaning of that root. For example, “k-t-b” is a common root in Arabic. Some words from that root are kitaab (“book”) and maktaba (“library”).
There are more facts about Arabic for you to explore. You’ll find that learning about it helps open up the door to a different culture and provides a new way of thinking about the world.

( A )29. How many varieties of Arabic are mentioned in the passage?
A. Two. B. Three. C. Four. D. Five.

C(跨数学·数学魔术)
Everyone knows magic tricks are fun, but not enough people realize that Maths can be as well. Here is one of the most popular tricks to show you how amazing Maths can be.
Firstly, pick a friend with good Maths skills. To play the trick, your friend needs to know how to add numbers and do subtraction(减法).
Then, write down 1,089 on a piece of paper without showing anyone.

Thirdly, ask your friend to write down a number with three different digits(位数). Tell him not to show you the number. Make sure the three digits cannot be the same. For example, he could pick 481.
Next, let your friend write down the number and reverse it. For example, the reverse of 481 is 184.
After that, make it into a subtraction problem. Now your friend has two numbers. Get him to subtract the smaller one from the larger one. In our example, the result should be 481-184=297. If the result contains only two digits, ask your friend to add a zero at the beginning.

Next step, reverse this number as well. Ask your friend to take his answer and reverse the order of the digits again. If he added the zero at the beginning, remind him to include it as part of the number. For example, the reverse of 297 is 792.
Here comes the most exciting part. As the final calculation, get your friend to add the last two numbers and write down the result. In our example, 792+297=1,089.
Finally, tell everyone that you know the last number your friend wrote down. Show others the piece of paper with the 1,089 you’ve written down earlier.
In the trick, the last number will always be 1,089. If your friend has a different answer, he has not followed the instructions, or he has made a mistake.

( D )33. To play the trick, how many steps should you follow?
A. 5. B. 6. C. 7. D. 8.
( B )34. If your friend got “99” after doing the subtraction, what did he need to do?
A. Go on with the other steps.
B. Change the number into 099.
C. Tell others the number he got.
D. Choose another number to start again.
D
B

( D )35. What does the underlined word “reverse” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A. To get something inside out.
B. To turn something upside down.
C. To turn or move something to one side.
D. To change the order of something to its opposite.
( C )36. Which is the best name for the Maths trick?
A. The 481 trick B. The 2 numbers trick
C. The 1,089 trick D. The subtraction trick

You couldn’t deeply experience Chengdu if you don’t prepare to do anything. Sit on a bamboo chair, stretch(伸展) your feet out and let the afternoon slow away. Listen to hot water being poured into teacups. Taste melon seeds(瓜子) or boiled peanuts. And teahouses are the right places for you and should always be on your must-go list.

Sichuan is one of China’s major tea-producing regions. Chengdu was famous for its teahouses as early as the Tang Dynasty. For centuries, teahouses were places for fun and tea. There, customers can enjoy storytelling, music and especially Sichuan Opera. That is not a popular art form these days, but Yuelai Teahouse beside Jinjiang Theatre still arranges operas every Saturday afternoon.

You will find most of Chengdu’s traditional teahouses in parks. Heming Teahouse in Renmin Park attracts lunchtime office workers and afternoon visitors. When noise gets too much because of more visitors, move on to Shaocheng Teahouse in the same park. Visitors there are older and quieter. They bring songbirds, hanging their cages in trees, and have fun. However, new-style teahouses have opened to attract the younger generation. They want to taste traditional tea in a more modern style. The most famous one of them is Mi Xun Teahouse in Taikoo Li, which is right in the city’s most fashionable shopping area.

As in all teahouses, the tea comes in separate packets which can be kept warm. Maofeng green tea from Mount Emei, southwest of Chengdu, is the traditional favourite. Pour the leaves into your cup. Don’t let the water level in your cup get too low, since any bad taste from the leaves is left on the bottom. You can enjoy your tea all afternoon and order nothing else.
In Chengdu teahouses, people relax themselves by staying away from busy work and life. The capital of Sichuan is developing fast too, but it has managed to keep its slower style that has been lost in many other Chinese cities.

请认真阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容回答问题。
In a little fishing village in Southern Thailand, there are some boys who like to play football. They play with a lot of excitement and interest, running, jumping and kicking. These boys are really good at controlling the ball because their football field is a raft(木筏) in the middle of the sea. They live on Koh Panyee Island, but even though it is small, the football team from the village has been very successful. The Panyee Football Club has won the Thai Youth Football Championships seven times since 2004.

The story of the Panyee Football Club began in 1986 when some young boys from the village were watching the World Cup Football Championships on TV. Suddenly, one of the boys said, “We watch football on TV, but we’ve never played it.” The boys made a decision. “Our football team starts today. We want to become world champions!” They shouted. But the villagers laughed at them. They asked, “But have you found a football field yet? How can you practice?”

The boys made up their minds to make their dream come true. They used old fishing boats and pieces of wood to make a floating football field. They practiced for hours every day, even when it was very wet and smooth after a heavy rain. In their first year, they made it to the semifinals of the local football competitions.

Improvements in technology often happen overnight. Some gadgets(小器具) get smaller and faster. Others are replaced(代替) by newer things like smartphones. Here are some old gadgets that people used to use.

Do you have a landline at home? These are phones that people plug(插入) into their living room walls. Mobile phones didn’t use to be so popular at that time , so most families had a landline. But landlines only worked at home. What did people do when they were outside and needed to call someone ? They looked for a pay phone! Now , most people have their own mobile phones and many homes no longer have landlines.
People today store plenty of information online , or on SD cards. But in the 1980s and 1990s , people used to use floppy disks . The first floppy disks were large , expensive , and not very useful—each disk could store just 175 KB of information! Later , floppy disks got smaller and better. But even the best ones could only hold 1.44 MB. You would need three or four disks just for one song , and about 22 ,000 disks to match the storage (储存空间) available on a 32 GB phone!

It’s easy to take photos today. People often have thousands of photos just in their phones! But photos used to cost much , and people took fewer of them. To take a photo , you had to buy a roll of film. This allowed you to take up to 30 photos. After finishing the roll , you left it at a shop. The shop developed the photos to make them be seen , which you could collect after a few days.
Technology changes all the time , and the gadgets we use today will one day be old. What do you think will be next to disappear?

C(跨数学·数学魔术)
Everyone knows magic tricks are fun , but not enough people realize that Maths can be as well. Here is one of the most popular tricks to show you how amazing Maths can be.
Firstly , pick a friend with good Maths skills. To play the trick , your friend needs to know how to add numbers and do subtraction(减法).
Then , write down 1 ,089 on a piece of paper without showing anyone.
Thirdly , ask your friend to write down a number with three different digits(位数). Tell him not to show you the number. Make sure the three digits cannot be the same. For example , he could pick 481.
Next , let your friend write down the number and reverse it. For example , the reverse of 481 is 184.
After that , make it into a subtraction problem . Now your friend has two numbers. Get him to subtract the smaller one from the larger one. In our example , the result should be 481-184 =297. If the result contains only two digits , ask your friend to add a zero at the beginning.
Next step , reverse this number as well. Ask your friend to take his answer and reverse the order of the digits again. If he added the zero at the beginning , remind him to include it as part of the number. For example , the reverse of 297 is 792.
Here comes the most exciting part. As the final calculation , get your friend to add the last two numbers and write down the result. In our example , 792+297 =1 , 089.
Finally , tell everyone that you know the last number your friend wrote down. Show others the piece of paper with the 1 ,089 you’ve written down earlier.
In the trick , the last number will always be 1 ,089. If your friend has a different answer , he has not followed the instructions , or he has made a mistake.
( D )33. To play the trick , how many steps should you follow?
A. 5. B. 6. C. 7. D. 8.
( B )34. If your friend got “99” after doing the subtraction , what did he need to do?
A. Go on with the other steps.
B. Change the number into 099.
C. Tell others the number he got.
D. Choose another number to start again.
C. The 1 ,089 trick D. The subtraction trick

You couldn’t deeply experience Chengdu if you don’t prepare to do anything. Sit on a bamboo chair , stretch(伸展) your feet out and let the afternoon slow away.
For centuries , teahouses were places for fun and tea. There , customers can enjoy storytelling , music and especially Sichuan Opera. That is not a popular art form these days , but Yuelai Teahouse beside Jinjiang Theatre still arranges operas every Saturday afternoon.
You will find most of Chengdu’s traditional teahouses in parks. Heming Teahouse in Renmin Park attracts lunchtime office workers and afternoon visitors. When noise gets too much because of more visitors , move on to Shaocheng Teahouse in the same park. Visitors there are older and quieter. They bring songbirds , hanging their cages in trees , and have fun. However , new-style teahouses have opened to attract the younger generation. They want to taste traditional tea in a more modern style. The most famous one of them is Mi Xun Teahouse in Taikoo Li , which is right in the city’s most fashionable shopping area.
As in all teahouses , the tea comes in separate packets which can be kept warm. Maofeng green tea from Mount Emei , southwest of Chengdu , is the traditional favourite. Pour the leaves into your cup. Don’t let the water level in your cup get too low , since any bad taste from the leaves is left on the bottom. You can enjoy your tea all afternoon and order nothing else.
In Chengdu teahouses , people relax themselves by staying away from busy work and life. The capital of Sichuan is developing fast too , but it has managed to keep its slower style that has been lost in many other Chinese cities.

The curve ( with one dot below is pronounced /b/ , two on top is /t/ , and three on top is /θ/ , while the curve ( with two dots below is pronounced /y/.
A main feature of Arabic is the three letter root(根) system . Almost every Arabic word is based on a root of three letters. If you take a root and add other letters to it , you can create many words related(关联) to the meaning of that root. For example , “k-t-b” is a common root in Arabic. Some words from that root are kitaab (“book”) and maktaba (“library”).

( D )35. What does the underlined word “reverse” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A. To get something inside out.
B. To turn something upside down.
C. To turn or move something to one side.
D. To change the order of something to its opposite.
( C )36. Which is the best name for the Maths trick?

You couldn’t deeply experience Chengdu if you don’t prepare to do anything. Sit on a bamboo chair , stretch(伸展) your feet out and let the afternoon slow away.

In a little fishing village in Southern Thailand , there are some boys who like to play football. They play with a lot of excitement and interest , running , jumping and kicking. These boys are really good at controlling the ball because their football field is a raft(木筏) in the middle of the sea. They live on Koh Panyee Island , but even though it is small , the football team from the village has been very successful. The Panyee Football Club has won the Thai Youth Football Championships seven times since 2004.
The story of the Panyee Football Club began in 1986 when some young boys from the village were watching the World Cup Football Championships on TV. Suddenly , one of the boys said , “We watch football on TV , but we’ve never played it.” The boys made a decision. “Our football team starts today. We want to become world champions!” They shouted. Enjoy the world and love our life
Hello , I’m Millie. Today I’m really happy to be here to share my thoughts on
reading. Books are like windows to the world. I used to be shy and quiet, but reading changed me. I started reading storybooks when I was young. Through books , I met brave heroes , kind friends , and wise teachers. I travelled to faraway lands and learned about different cultures.
Reading made me more confident . I began to share stories with my classmates and express my ideas freely. It also broadened my mind and enriched my life. I hope everyone can read more books and explore the world in this way. Let’s enjoy the world and love our life through reading!
We only live once , but if we can try to make it meaningful , once is enough! Thank you for listening!
