Li Bai (701-762) is a Tang Dynasty poet (诗人). People call him the “poet-immortal (诗仙)”. His works are cool and nice. He writes more than 1,000 poems in his life.
Which one of them do people like best It may be Thoughts on a Tranquil Night. You can find this poem in Chinese textbooks and books like *Three Hundred Tang Poems*.
The poem *Thoughts on a Tranquil Night* by Li Bai is like a short, beautiful story. It’s about missing home very much when you’re far from home. The poet uses only 20 words. Every word of the poem is not difficult but we can feel his strong feelings when reading the poem.
In the poem, the poet sees a pool of light from the moon before his bed. He wants to know if the cold feeling is because of the frost on the ground. When he looks up at the bright moon, he feels a little warm because the moon makes him think of his homeland. But at last when he puts his head down, wishing he were at home. This makes him feel homesick (思乡的) a lot.

The River Thames is the longest river in England and the second longest in the United Kingdom, after the River Severn. But the Thames is the most famous. That's probably because it's in London, the capital city. The Thames goes through London and other parts of the south of England.
Some of the best-known places in London are by the Thames: the Big Ben clock on the north side of the river; the London Eye on the south side, with its view (风景) of the city; and St Paul's Cathedral (圣保罗大教堂), which had to be built again after the Great Fire of London in 1666.
