The librarian, Mrs.Chen, noticed my situation. She never made me feel uncomfortable. Instead, she gave me a quiet place to sit and enough books to read. Sometimes she left snacks near me, as if she had just forgotten them.
One day, she asked if I liked writing, and I said yes. Then she began giving me nice notebooks, saying the library was giving away old ones. Years later, I learned that she had bought them herself. Mrs.Chen offered me warmth and safety when I had nowhere else to go. She helped me quietly, without making me feel embarrassed.
Now I am in college, planning to become a teacher. I often think of her kindness and the difference she made to my life. Last year, I wrote to tell her how important she was to me. She replied that she always believed I would succeed.
