The idea “humans are made from stardust (star-made material)” was first brought to public in the 1980s by the astronomer(天文学家) Car Sagan. It might seem mysterious. But Car explained the science behind it.
Long time ago, the Big Bang(大爆炸) created hydrogen1 and helium2. These lighter elements(元素) were turned into heavier ones like carbon3 and oxygen4 through nuclear fusion(核聚变) caused by some stars. Such stars that helped produce new elements were called “element factories”. When the stars died, those elements were spread across space. Over time, they went together and formed new stars, planets, and...humans!
Car said we humans could be a walking museum. The carbon in our cells, the oxygen we breathe, the iron5 in our blood, and even the calcium6 in our bones were once part of a star billions of years ago. Our left hand might have atoms(原子) from a red star while our right hand could have the atoms from a blue one! Oxygen atoms in the water we are drinking might be older than the Earth. How about the pizza we are eating The carbon in it could be “stardust” 4.5 billion years ago. Every atom in us is like a tiny time capsule(胶囊) with an unbelievable space story. We’re carrying the space’s history.
The fact is that everything around us--the trees in our schoolyard, the animals on our farm, even our smartphones--is made of “stardust”. So next time when we look at the night sky,we should remember: The star Sirius(天狼星) might have donated some of our oxygen. The Orion Nebula(猎户座) could be the “birthplace” of your calcium. That shining light might be our atomic cousin! And we’re not just on Earth--we are in space! That is what’s called family ties.
Notes:1-6均为化学元素,对应元素符号为:H, He , C , O2 , Fe , Ca 。

One day a storytelling competition 28 (hold) in the school. I loved reading but never dared to speak in public. My best friend Lucy encouraged me, “Your voice is like warm honey! Just be 29 (you).” The competition day arrived. Standing backstage, my hands shook. Suddenly, the glasses fogged up from nervous sweat. I almost took them off, but I remembered I couldn’t see the words without them. Taking 30 deep breath, I walked onto the stage. As I began reading, something magical happened. The audience disappeared. I became the brave princess in the story and this pair of glasses 31 (shine) like a crown(王冠) at that time. When I finished, all the people in the hall cheered for me. After the competition, I asked Lucy why I didn’t look silly 32 glasses. Lucy smiled, “Your glasses make you, YOU. 33 you wear them, we see you even become more confident.”
Now I keep my glasses clean and bright. I even add cute star stickers on the frames(镜框). When new students ask about my glasses, I say proudly, “They help me see the world 34 (clear) and let the world see the real me.”

Do you want to be an astronaut in the future Every year on April 24, it’s Space Day of China. It’s a day to celebrate the country’s growth in space exploration. The successful manned space missions(任务) are a big part of it. Ever since Yang Liwei made it to space in 2003, as many as over 20 Chinese astronauts have gone to space. Being an astronaut is cool but sometimes dangerous.
In space, astronauts face many problems. There is little gravity there, which influences their bodies. Also, they should be away from family and stuck in a tiny spaceship for a long time can make them feel sad or stressed out. What’s more, if something goes wrong on their mission all of sudden, they have to work out how to fix it under huge pressure. That’s why astronauts have to be smart, strong and ready for any challenge before they can go to space.
To make sure that Chinese astronauts complete their missions and return to Earth safely. “Eight types, covering more than 200 subjects of training, are set.” Huang Weifen, chief designer of the astronaut system for China’s manned space project, told CCTV News. Apart from physical training, it also includes basic science knowledge and mock (模拟) missions. Before astronauts can go to space, they train like this for at least three and a half years. One of the hardest parts of the training for astronauts is the underwater training. This helps them get ready for the weightless environment in space. Huang explained that astronauts wear diving suits(潜水服) that weigh more than 100 kilograms and stay underwater for six hours at a time. Moving around in the water with such a heavy suit is really tiring.
44.What qualities(品质)do you think astronauts should have (Please list two points) (2分)

According to the survey, 16% show little interest in reading. 12% don’t know what to read. And 4% have other reasons. Most students, about 68%, think they have no time. However, I think if we truly want to read, we can always find time.
First, we can use spare moments wisely. We can read during short moments while waiting for the bus. Also, always carrying a book makes it convenient to read. Every minute counts.
Second, we can create an AI reading agent. It creates our own reading plans, records our reading time and reminds us about our reading tasks. It can help us manage time well.
Dear friends, time is like sunshine—if you look for it, you’ll always find some. Let’s swim together in the ocean of reading.
