We’re so lucky to have firemen to come to save people and put out the fire. The Jacksons didn’t lose everything because the firemen came so fast.
And what about our police who protect our families, our homes and important things The police helped so many families this year. They saved people and pets, and protected our houses and things after the heavy rains.
Think about all the other jobs in this community. We have people sweeping the street and keeping our community sanitary. We have road workers repairing holes in the streets to protect not just us, but our cars! And what will this community be like without (没有) the teachers in our school and the medical workers in our community hospitals

Is there a connection(联系)between volunteering and health? Can volunteering offer a way to make kids healthier?
Scientists found that volunteering in schools or communities will do good to the health of kids.According to a new study this year, kids who volunteer aren't just helping their community. They might be helping themselves as well.
People did a survey among the parents of about 50,000 kids aged 6 to 17 in the United States and found that kids who took part in community service were 34% more likely(可能)to grow up healthily than those who didn't.And kids aged 12 and older who volunteered were 25% less likely to have anxiety(焦虑).The survey shows that volunteering can help raise levels of happiness and mental(精神的)health.

There are lots of trees and beautiful flowers in the neighbourhood, so the air there is fresh. We have a big garden, a swimming pool and some playgrounds. We can have a good time playing there.
All my neighbours are nice and helpful. Some of them are volunteers with different skills. If we have any problems, they can help us. They also help old people do some shopping and clean their houses. If children have problems with their lessons, they will give them a helping hand.
I will do some things for my neighbourhood. I am going to pick up the rubbish in the community centre. If my neighbour is not good at English, I will help her/him with her/his English after school. My community will be a good place to live in.
