Hi! I have to say I’ve had the pleasure to see so much of the world. Six years ago on a trip, my mother made a video of me dancing freely in Thailand. I put it on the Internet. Some friends started passing it around and soon millions of people watched it. How lucky I was! And since then, I’ve travelled to many countries on all seven continents, such as New Zealand, Britain and Canada. I love this kind of exciting life travelling around the world. What’s more, during the trip in Britain, I first met my husband.
Quite a few people wanted to dance along with me, so I started inviting them to join in almost everywhere I went. When I dance with people, I see them smile and laugh. It makes me truly excited. People want to feel connected with each other. They want to be heard and seen, and they’re curious to hear and see others from places far away. I share that idea in my book. It’s exactly what drives me to travel. Now I’m working on the book about my journeys. I hope you will like reading it in the future.

Three Most Culturally Significant Miao Festivals
Miao New Year
It is celebrated at different times of the year in different
regions, usually in the period from the ninth to the eleventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar and lasting 5 to 15 days. During the festival, Miao people dress up in traditional costumes and there are large parades. The locals celebrate by beating drums (鼓), dancing to the music of lusheng, horse racing and sometimes horse fighting or bullfighting.
The Lusheng Festival
The largest Lusheng Festival is held in Kaili, Guizhou. It is celebrated from the 16th to the 20th of the first lunar month. During the festival, Miao people from surrounding villages all come together in traditional dress. The men play lusheng while the women dance. They believe that this ceremony will bring a good harvest and good health in the coming year. However, the festival is not simply about playing lusheng. It also features other activities typical of Miao people, such as singing, bullfighting, and horse racing.
The Sisters’ Meal Festival
Held from the 15th to the 17th of the third lunar month, it is the most popular festival among young men and women of Miao people. Before the festival, Miao girls go to the mountains to gather wild flowers and leaves, which are then used to make coloured dye (染料). When the festival begins, Miao girls meet by the river banks to make “Sister’s Rice”. They dye the rice blue, pink, yellow and white to represent spring, summer, autumn and winter.
When the men arrive, each of them singles out the woman he loves and sings to her. The woman responds to the song by giving the man a cup of rice wine and the Sister’s Rice. If the rice is offered with a pair of red chopsticks, it means the woman returns the man’s love. If only one chopstick is offered, it is a polite refusal.

Georgia, who works for a popular fashion store in the UK, left her purse at a gas station after her company party in early December. She was heartbroken, but thinking someone must have taken it away, she gave up the idea of going back to look for it and didn’t phone the station to ask about it. But her tears quickly dried when an off-duty firefighter named Nyma showed up at her door.
A ring camera caught Georgia and Nyma’s exchange, and the owner of the store posted the video on the store’s website. In it, Nyma rings her doorbell and Georgia answers it using a phone app. Nyma explained where he found the lost purse and said he decided to drive straight to her house, so she wouldn’t have to experience an extra moment of panic.
Georgia was moved to tears and kept offering to send Nyma money for his good deed, but he refused. He simply asked her to pay it forward, and explained that it was no trouble for him though Georgia knew he needed to drive hours to get to her house. Because she wasn’t home at the time, he left the purse in an empty garbage bag and left.
The owner and Georgia were so touched by the gesture, and they started a search for the mystery man so they could give him a proper “thank you”. Georgia uploaded the video. It didn’t take long to find him. They invited him to the store for an official meet—and he went.
“He is such a kind man,” reads another post. “It was an absolute pleasure to meet him. The video has got millions of views and we hope he will be a positive influence on many.”

C
Culture shock occurs when people have been suddenly thrown into a new culture. Newcomers may be anxious because they don’t speak the language. Neither do they know the customs nor understand the people’s behaviour in daily life.
Quite often the visitors find that “yes” may not always mean “yes”, that friendliness does not necessarily mean friendship, or that statements that appear to be serious are really intended about jokes. The foreigners may be unsure about when to shake hands, when to start conversations, or how to approach a stranger. The concept of culture shock helps explain the feeling of puzzlement and confusion.
Language problems do not lead to all the setbacks that people feel. When one has lost everything that was once familiar, such as understanding a transportation system, knowing how to register for university classes, or knowing how to make friends, difficulties in coping with the new society may arise.
When an individual enters a strange culture, he or she feels like a fish out of water. Newcomers feel at times that they do not belong to the culture and feel deserted by the native members of the culture. When this happens, visitors may want to refuse everything about the new environment and may glorify and sing their own praises of the positive aspects of their own culture. On the other side, more visitors may look down on their native
country by rejecting its value and instead choosing to approve of the value of the new country. This may occur as an attempt to accept the new culture in order to be taken in by the people in it.

Spend any time in London, England’s capital, and you’ll quickly realise that it’s a multicultural community. Look around at your fellow passengers on the underground or the bus. They’re of every skin colour and dress differently from one another. Listen, and you’ll hear many other languages besides English spoken. Some of these people will be tourists who are in London to see the sights. But others, in fact probably most, will be living their lives there, along with millions of others.
Along with white British people, there are Britons from, or with parents and grand-parents from, the Caribbean, India, China and most other places. This makes London a wonderful place in which to live. The reason is that when people settle in a place, they don’t just buy a house and live there, but bring aspects of the culture of their “old country” with them.
A number of restaurants offering dishes from different parts of the world can be seen in London. You would come across French, Italian, Chinese, Indian and even Polish restaurants in London.
However, London’s multiculturalism isn’t just about food. Many types of people are gathered in one space, but the way they live differently shows in that space. They have different religious beliefs. Alongside one of the most famous old English churches, St Paul’s Cathedral, you’ll find mosques, temples and synagogues (犹太教堂).
London even speaks its own special kind of English. Language experts created the term “Multicultural London English” to identify the dialect (方言) of English that appeared at the end of the last century.
All of this makes London a very surprising and varied place to call your home. But, in a way, this has long been true. In the 18th century, the compiler (编纂者) of the first English dictionary, Samuel Johnson, once said: “He who is tired of London is tired of life.”

根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Can you remember a time when somebody was kind to you Perhaps a person allowed you to go in front of them in a queue. Maybe your sister phoned you to ask how your week was going. Or perhaps a stranger or a friend helped you in a much deeper way. 36
Few people would disagree with the idea that a kind action is good for the soul. It is a win-win situation, leading to a sense of well-being for both the receiver and the giver. As a simple example, let’s imagine you have a workmate who always does a very good job. 37 Your workmate will be happy to receive some praise and, in addition, you will probably feel good about yourself for having spread a little joy.
38 The idea behind this is that it doesn’t take any major plan to be kind, just a little bit of effort. Many believe that kindness can be taught and that it is contagious (有感染力的). So by being kind to others, a brighter community and world will be created.
Some websites suggest more imaginative ways to show kindness. 39 The first is interpersonal kindness. Some examples are donating old clothes to charity or writing a
positive online comment about a restaurant that you like. The second is environmental kindness, which could mean simply recycling or organising a group event to clean a local park or beach. The third category is less obvious: personal kindness, which means treating yourself kindly. Some examples are taking a walk in nature or setting yourself a goal to complain less.
 40
A. Doing something good can be very hard.
B. You praise him and show your admiration.
C. Generally, these fall into three categories.
D. Offering kindness can bring happiness.
E. There are a million ways to offer kindness.
F. People are encouraged to do random acts of kindness.
G. If you are kind to yourself, you will naturally be kinder to others.

根据下文中的“The idea behind this is that it doesn’t take any major plan to be kind, just a little bit of effort.”可知,行善并不需要什么宏大的计划,只需要一点点努力,空格处应提到鼓励人们去做一些善举,选项F“人们被鼓励去做一些随机的善举”符合语境。
39. C 【解析】 考查学生对上下文的理解。根据下文中的“The first…The second…The third…”

Grandfather was a wise man. No matter how badly behaved I had been, I could tell Grandpa anything and my secrets were 41 . He loved me and would never give them away.
I remember a time when a group of us were playing baseball behind Mrs Ferguson’s house. I hit one pitch just right and…slam! It ended up breaking Mrs Ferguson’s kitchen window! We all 42 !
After I got home, I told Grandpa about it. He knew we had been 43 many times about the dangers of playing where we shouldn’t. 44 he just listened.
“I was wrong,” I told him, with my head down. “I hate myself for what I did. Is there a way 45 ”
“Well,” he said, “Mrs Ferguson has a problem, just like you. If she knew you 46 and you were afraid of her, she would be sad. I’ll bet she wishes you would give her a chance to be 47 . It’s your decision. Are you planning to 48 nothing happened Just keep quiet and hide what you’re not proud of ”
“I don’t know,” I 49 . “Things might get worse…”
“Let’s think it through,”he said finally. “If you were Mrs Ferguson, what would you do ” I didn’t know what she might do. I had been 50 that Mrs Ferguson would stay mad at me, so I ran. On the way home I imagined that she was a mean witch chasing me.
“Well,” I said, taking a deep breath, “one solution is to tell Mrs Ferguson I’m sorry and offer to fix her window.”
“If you call her,” asked Grandpa, “what’s the 51 that can happen ” I had to think for a moment. I realised that even if she did not accept my apology, it could not be any worse than seeing the 52 on Mum and Dad’s faces.
Grandpa smiled when he knew I had figured it out.

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Ariana caught another whiff (臭味) and tried to hold her breath. She moved away slightly, but Ashley only moved closer and continued talking. Ariana felt trapped. She wanted badly to tell Ashley that she didn’t smell very good. But how could she do that without hurting her feelings Instead, she gathered the
remains of her lunch to throw in the trash, thankful for the excuse to get some fresh air. She looked back to see Ashley eating quietly. Ashley’s hair was tangled (乱糟糟的), and her clothes were dirty. Ariana forced herself to go back to the table and take her seat, vowing that she would not sit with Ashley tomorrow.
When Ariana got home from school, she complained to her mother, “There’s a girl named Ashley who likes to sit next to me in school, but she smells bad.”
“She’s probably having a tough day,” said her mother.
“No, it’s not just one day. She smells bad a lot,” Ariana explained. “Nobody else likes to sit next to her, either.”
“I don’t think you understand Ashley’s situation, so let me ask you this…,” her mother’s tone was serious. “Who makes sure that your hair is combed every morning so you’ll look nice when you go to school ”
“You do,” answered Ariana.
“Who makes sure you’re bathed and cleaned every day And your clothes are washed and neatly ironed ”
“You and Daddy,” Ariana said again.
“Do you live in a nice home Do you have enough to eat ”
Ariana nodded, beginning to feel guilty. She was starting to understand now. Ashley couldn’t help her situation because she was only seven years old—the same age as Ariana. Grown-ups are supposed to take care of kids.
“Why doesn’t her family take better care of her ” Ariana asked.
“Not all children live in the best situation,” her mother said.“The best thing you can do for Ashley is to treat her with kindness and sympathy.”

Paragraph 2:
At the end of the school year, the second grade prepared to go on a field trip to the zoo.
The day before the trip, the teacher announced that the class needed to bring a lunch from home. Ashley was absent, and Ariana worried that her friend would not have a lunch because Ashley always ate the school lunches. So, the next day, Ariana asked her mum to make an extra lunch for Ashley—just in case. She was right. When Ariana gave the lunch to Ashley, tears welled up in Ashley’s eyes, and she thanked Ariana for her kindness and consideration.

Let’s begin with our reading club. It was first started in 1968 and has 90 members now. Every Thursday afternoon they gather together to exchange their ideas on books and you may join them to share your views. If you are a music lover, come to our music club. This club has a total of 85 members who usually
meet on Saturday. Sometimes they go to concerts together and sometimes they give performances themselves. For those who enjoy outdoor sports, the bicycle club can be a good choice. Trips are usually organised on Wednesday and last at least two hours.

The Qixi Festival, the Chinese Valentine’s Day that fell yesterday, was not only a disappointment for forgotten lovers, but also for businessmen left with empty pockets.
The cold welcome has caused experts to seriously worry that the lovers’ festival, marked for generations since the Han Dynasty (202 BC—220 AD), is dying out. Some have even called for the government to make the festival a legal Chinese Lovers’
Day. But the effectiveness of such a measure is in doubt, although efforts to preserve traditional festivals are worth high praise.
A growing number of traditional Chinese festivals, such as the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, share the same fate as the Qixi Festival.
Young people are showing less interest in traditional culture as symbolised by these festivals. Even if all traditional festivals are finally made legal, the risk of them becoming purely formalised celebrations with little meaning is not reduced. If the younger generation fails to appreciate the cultural significance of these holidays, there is little that can be done.
Concern about the traditional holidays also reminds people of the growing influence of foreign cultures as the country opens wider to the outside world. With traditional festivals becoming less important and imports such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day gaining widespread popularity, the public including cultural professionals has tended to measure traditional Chinese festivals in economic terms.
Business rather than culture has begun to play a dominant (占主导地位的) role. More and more people are interested in how much money can be made during the holidays.
In fact, what makes traditional festivals unique and what keeps them alive are their cultural elements. After all, it is unique culture that contributes to the world’s diversity with globalisation.

Through intercultural communication, we come to create, understand, and transform culture and identity. Intercultural communi-cation is communication between people with different cultural identities.
One reason we should study intercultural communication is to enhance self-awareness. Our thinking process regarding culture is often “others-focused”, meaning that the culture of the other person or group is what stands out in our view. However, the old saying “know thyself” is appropriate, as we become more aware of our own culture by better understanding other cultures and views.
Intercultural communication can allow us to step outside of our comfortable, usual frame of reference and see our culture through a different aspect. Additionally, as we become more self-aware, we may become more ethical communicators as we challenge our tendency to view our culture as superior to others.
As was noted earlier, differences matter, and studying intercultural communication can help us better negotiate in our changing world. Changing economies and technologies intersect with culture in meaningful ways. Technology has created a global village where vast distances are much shorter due to new technology that makes travel and communi-cation more accessible and convenient. However, as the following “Getting
Plugged In” box indicates, there is also a digital divide, which refers to the unequal access to technology and related skills that exists throughout much of the world. People in most fields will be more successful if they are prepared to work in a globalised world.
Obviously, the global market sets up the need for intercultural competence for employees who travel between locations of a multinational corporation. Perhaps less obvious may be the need for teachers to work with students who do not speak English as their first language and for police officers, lawyers, managers, and medical personnel to be able to work with people who have various cultural identities.

Awe (敬畏) experiences are typically connected with the perception (感知) of something incredibly vast or powerful. These are often related to nature—such as looking at a broad view of mountains or up at the billions of stars in the night sky. “Awe is the feeling of being in the presence of something vast that goes beyond your understanding of the world,” said Dacher Keltner, a psychologist at the University of California, Berkeley.
At the University of Chicago’s Human Nature and Potentials Lab, research has shown that children over the age of four can perceive and respond to awe-inspiring experiences. This early sense of awe influences their motivation for learning and self-perception. When exposed to awe-inspiring visuals, such as vast natural scenes or natural disasters, children feel a “small self” compared to their feelings after viewing everyday nature imagery, which makes them more motivated to explore things that interest them and to understand things in the world that they hadn’t learnt much about yet.
While awe is a highly personal experience, evidence suggests that it has significant social effects. In one experiment, participants who were asked to stand staring at tall trees for a minute were more likely to help others than those who looked at a building, suggesting that being in an awe-inspiring environment increases morality and reduces feelings of self-centredness.
“This is especially critical in the age of social media,” said Dr Keltner. “We are at this cultural moment of self-centredness, criticism, and entitlement (优越感); awe gets us out of that. It does this by helping us get out of our own heads and realise our place in the larger context, our communities,” he explained. “Might awe cause people to become more invested in the greater good, giving more to charity, volunteering to help others, or doing more to reduce their impact on the environment Our research would suggest that the answer is yes.”

There’s little scientific agreement on how much money is enough to make humans happy. 36 After that, higher incomes don’t necessarily lead to greater happiness. But other research finds no such cutoff point. Money may not be a path to absolute joy, but it can certainly help. Here are a few research-supported suggestions on how to get the most happiness out of your spending:
Experiences Make Us Happier Than Things
Gilovich, a psychology professor at Cornell University, says that buying an experience will probably result in more happiness than buying new things.
37 That’s great for surviving after a major negative change or the loss of a sense like sight or smell. But that adaptation is not so helpful if you’re looking to enhance your well-being. Humans will soon get used to a new dining table or a fancier car. But experiences remain novel and connect us to other people.
Beyond that, our tendency to compare material objects is greater than our tendency to compare experiences. It’s easy to compare the size of a house or the price of clothing. 38 “You build your experience around you,” says Gilovich, which means you get your own, unique memories to treasure and your own social connections to develop.
Time Is Worth the Money
Don’t want to clean your bathroom Hate cleaning out the car 39 A study published in PNAS in 2017 found that buying time for activities you enjoy brings consistent emotional rewards.
Spend on Others
Like spending on experiences, “prosocial” spending helps build social connections. 40 Social psychologist Lara Aknin notes that giving creates a positive cycle. She says, “Giving to others makes us happy. The happier you are, the more likely you are to do it again.”
A. But experiences are often more personal.
B. This includes giving to charity or treating a friend.
C. That doesn’t mean money can solve all one’s problems.
D. For one thing, humans have a habit of adapting to new situations.
E. Most people fall into one of the two groups, the researchers found.
F. One 2010 study suggests an annual income of $75,000 is the magic number.
G. If you can afford to buy your way out of the tasks you most dislike, you should.

I’ll never forget the Wednesday when I made a(n) 50 to jump in and see what happened. Returning home from the

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Sam was from a poor family. After graduating from university, he managed to find a high-paying job working in a reputable company. As his salary was very important for him to support his family, he worked very hard, devoting himself to his
tasks and always ready to assist others. Nevertheless, he had a shortcoming—he was often late for work, which had caused some minor losses for the company on previous occasions, although the damages were relatively insignificant. However, this time, the consequences were about to become more severe.
It was a busy morning, and Sam had overslept, leading to yet another delayed start to his day. He hurriedly dressed and dashed out of the door, hoping to make up for lost time while driving. As he drove along the familiar route to work, a sense of unease settled in his mind. He couldn’t shake off the feeling that something important was about to unfold.
Then, in the distance, he noticed something unusual on the side of the road. Curiosity inspired, Sam slowed down and eventually came to a stop. A group of concerned individuals had gathered around a fallen child. The little one, who was on his way to the nearby kindergarten, had suffered a serious injury from the fall. The child’s mother stood beside him, weeping in deep sorrow. Sam parked his car on the roadside, ensuring it was safely out of the way of traffic. He took a closer look at the
child, whose face seemed somewhat passion (同情) rose in his heart as he witnessed the anxiety of the mother and the pain across the child’s face.
“Is everything alright Can I help in any way ” he asked, trying to comfort the mother, who, with her eyes red and filled with tears, explained how serious the situation was. The nearest hospital was a considerable distance away, and she was unable to transport her injured child alone.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;

Paragraph 1:
Sam decided to drive them to the hospital, even though it meant being late for work.
He skillfully drove through the busy streets, ensuring the safety and well-being of the mother and the child. An hour or so later, when he hurried back to the office from the hospital, Sam was already late. Just then, Mr Johnson, his boss, caught sight of him and wasted no time expressing his anger. He declared that Sam would be fired. Sam said, “But Mr Johnson, that’s…, that’s unfair…” Fueled by anger, Mr Johnson responded, “You’re fired right now!” Sadly, Sam left.
Paragraph 2:
However, that evening, Sam received a phone call of apology from Mr Johnson.
It turned out that the child whom Sam had rushed to the hospital was Mr Johnson’s own son. Based on his wife’s description, Mr Johnson realised that it was Sam who had selflessly aided his son. Filled with great regret for not giving Sam an opportunity to explain before firing him, Mr Johnson sincerely apologised. He extended an invitation to Sam to return to his company, acknowledging his mistake. Sam was overjoyed by the offer, realising that whoever does a good deed will never be let down.

M: I’d like to check out. My name is Neil Green. I stayed in Room 124.

M: 950 yuan! Is there a mistake
W: Please check the bill carefully and see if there’s any mistake.
M: Of course, I’ll check it. The room is 150 yuan per day. I stayed for 3 days. The car is rented by the day. The charge is 200 yuan per day. I used it for 2 days. I just drove to the shopping mall and the beach.
W: In any case, you’re expected to pay for extra hours and miles. I understand that you rented the car by the day, but last night you went to a concert, which means an extra charge of 100 yuan.
M: Your car charge is much higher than I imagined.

W: Hi, Jim. I heard that you just moved to a new place.
M: Yes, I just moved in last week. You know, I’d been in an old apartment for three years. I was tired of it. The new apartment is cheaper, though it’s a little far from my office.
W: I see. That’s OK though.
M: It has a balcony and an air conditioner. It’s perfect, except for my new roommate.
W: What happened
M: You know, my work is tiring and I really want to go to bed early, while he stays up very late every night, making loud noises. He often chats online until midnight, and sometimes he even does the laundry at midnight.
W: Why don’t you talk to him
M: I tried, but it didn’t work. He doesn’t pay any attention to my words. I’ve complained to the landlord, but he hasn’t done anything about it.

Fashion inspired by traditional Chinese culture is experiencing revived global interest, with designers and their collections increasingly impressing fashion show audiences. At China-France Fashion Week, held at the China Cultural Centre in Paris, designers showed 30 outfits (服装), each presenting the cultural heritage of Quanzhou, a coastal city in East China’s Fujian Province, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021.
“The event promoted a dialogue between tradition and modernity, Eastern and Western aesthetics (美学),” said designer Meng Yueming, 33. Borrowing elements (元素) of the city’s heritage, including zanhua, the traditional dress of Hui’an women, local tea culture, and architecture, Meng mixed traditional and modern elements into his designs.
Describing the show as “fantastic”, Isabelle Lawson, executive director of the French International Art Salon, said it was a “brilliant” idea for the designers to transform Quanzhou’s landmarks and architecture into the designs.
The week was designed to deepen China-France cultural exchange and strengthen cooperation in the cultural and creative industries between China and France.
“Before this show, my understanding of traditional culture was superficial, but when I dug deeper, I found a treasure in front of me to explore,” Meng said, adding that he felt that using Chinese elements is important for native designers and companies to go global.
Meng’s experience highlights how an increasing number of designers are drawing on their heritage and cultural traditions while celebrating their own cultural identity. For Meng, it is a good time for Chinese designers to find their voice on the global stage, and to show how rich and graceful Chinese fashion can be today.

Human beings’ curiosity about outer space hasn’t declined in the past decade, and with Jeff Bezos’ historic commercial flight to the edge of space this past summer, dreamers are that much closer to experiencing the Galaxy (银河系) for themselves.
It’s reported that one company is aiming to make space a reality for people, and is pioneering a new age of space tourism. In 2019, the California-based company Gateway Foundation first explored the idea. Its dream was to make visiting space, in excellent accommodation, a future vacation choice. The project, now called Voyager Station, is run by Orbital Assembly Corporation, a construction company led by head of the Gateway Foundation and former pilot, John Blincow.
Space tourism draws closer as Orbital Assembly Corporation has announced plans to build the world’s first to space hotel named “Voyager Station”, which is expected to open in 2027. With a date in close sight, the hotel’s architects and engineers are hard at work, aiming to design an out-of-this-world experience. They plan to decorate the suites with elegant
bars and restaurants with a touch of space, as well as Earth-viewing lounges (休息处) and unique space food treats. The team is also taking advantage of the reduced gravity that will be felt in the station to plan to let their guests weightlessly carry heavy objects, jump higher or run faster in ways people can’t normally do on Earth.
Gravity will remain in the rooms and bars though because Voyager Station’s scientific design makes it possible by creating artificial gravity within the hotel. The hotel is designed as a wheel that will steadily move and create simulated (模拟的) gravitational force, much like when a glass of water is spun around, the water doesn’t pour out. The hotel’s guests won’t feel much different than being on a huge ship steadily moving.

Every great idea begins with a spark (火花) of realisation—and for Snehha Naarsaria, an accountant and a mum in Portugal, that spark came from her own home.
Financial literacy (素养) is no longer a skill reserved for adults; it is becoming a fundamental part of a child’s education. But teaching financial concepts to a child turned out to be harder than Snehha Naarsaria had expected. There were no engaging tools, no reliable resources, and no clear way to introduce these essential skills to a young mind. This disconnection between knowledge and application struck her deeply and that was when the idea for Fin Free Kid was born.
Fin Free Kid is an innovative initiative that equips children with essential money management skills through appealing books, flashcards, DIY kits, posters, and an immersive (沉浸式的) course. It offers comprehensive learning resources which cover different aspects of financial literacy. The resources aren’t just about teaching—they’re about empowering kids to think independently, make informed decisions, and develop habits that will serve them for life.
With a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction, the programme has earned widespread praise for its exceptional service and transformative impact on young learners. Parents have reported a noticeable shift in their children’s attitudes and behaviours after using Fin Free Kid’s products. Many children have developed the habit of saving money and learnt to make more thoughtful spending choices. A feature in The Economic Times described Fin Free Kid as “a pioneer in financial education for kids, bridging the gap in a crucial area of learning”.
With its growing popularity and the trust of parents across Portugal, Fin Free Kid plans to introduce advanced resources for older children and expand its partnerships with schools to integrate financial literacy into courses. “Our mission is to ensure that every child has the tools and knowledge to deal with the complexities of the financial world, ” says Snehha Naarsaria, “The changes we’ve seen in children so far are just the beginning. Together, we’re building financially literate generations.”

What sort of decisions we make determines who we really are. Living with integrity feels good, and once we get better at it, our careers and personal lives can develop better.
What does integrity actually mean Integrity is the ability to live your life depending on your own ethics (道德标准) and morals. 36 Besides that, you must also know what you intend to do with your life and what your purpose is.
Here are a few approaches to developing and maintaining integrity!
Identify your values clearly.
The first step to developing your integrity is to identify your values. Every person has a set of values that they live by. You must acknowledge them as you go further in life. 37
Assess each and every choice.
38 Practising integrity means making the right decision no matter what. Some seemingly right decisions that we make in life could be incredibly terrible for some. Honesty and integrity aren’t something that you must practise when it is convenient for you. You must always be like that whatever the circumstances are.
 39
Always find ways to employ your ethics and morals in everyday life. We learn so many great things in childhood, some of which are habits that we follow for our whole life. Practising integrity is just like that, you would just be practising your everyday life but with more analysis.
Integrity not merely involves consistency. 40 We must not always do what comes naturally to us because it is our nature to stay away from difficulties. We must find the courage within ourselves to face all the difficulties in life, only then will we become successful.
A. Employ your ethics in the real situation.
B. Sometimes we have to face the unavoidable.
C. Always remember that your choices define you ultimately.
D. Sometimes we need to decide what we want to achieve in life.
E. To have integrity, you must clearly know what is right and wrong.
F. No matter what happens, you will never go against your core values.
G. There are circumstances where it is difficult to distinguish right and wrong.

The Chain of Kindness
Dear fellow students,
I am Li Hua, a student of Senior 1, feeling greatly privileged to be here to share my understanding of the act of kindness and its significance in our lives.

To me, a good deed is not just an act of kindness but a reflection of one’s character and a simple gesture that has a profound impact on others. Last year, I encountered a senior citizen struggling to carry her groceries. Without hesitation, I offered to help her. Her grateful smile and heartfelt thanks left a lasting impression on me, reminding me that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring immense happiness to others.
I sincerely hope that everyone can recognise the power of morals and virtues and embody them in action.
That’s all, thank you!

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
A week before Halloween, my young children wild with great happiness were walking and running around our home in their Halloween costumes. Just then the babysitter called, telling me that she was extremely sorry for asking for a day off. I knew
that emergencies did occur, and I told her that I completely understood. But what was actually going through my mind was feelings of frustration and self-pity. And I had to pack my three kids into the car, and then drove to the hospital.
On the way, numerous things flooded into my mind, and I especially thought about how life should be going. I was thirty years old, a mother of three girls—five-year-old twins and a one-year-old baby. At this moment, I should be playing with them in the park or visiting the library together. But I was, once again, going to see the doctor. It had been a year since I was diagnosed with cancer. I knew that I was one of the lucky ones. I was grateful that surgery and chemotherapy (化疗) were over, and
this was just a routine blood test. As always, there was the remaining fear that the cancer would come back. To be honest, my family and friends were great during the past year when I was in bad condition, but they were also busy with their lives. Therefore, I did not want to burden them with my feelings of unhappiness. What I just wanted to see was the positive things in life and I really wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to them.
When we finally arrived, we sat in a crowded waiting room. Nothing special occurred until my youngest daughter, dressed up as an angel, walked up to a woman who was in a wheelchair and accompanied by her caregiver. My daughter looked at the woman and pointed to the vending (售货) machine next to her, saying sweetly, “Tweet.” This was how she said “Trick or Treat”, which had been coached previously by her twin sisters.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。
Paragraph 1:
Surprisingly, the woman, a complete stranger to us, knew exactly what my daughter meant.
She asked her caregiver to take her to the vending machine. Using her trembling right hand, the woman put enough money into the machine, and then handed each of my girls a treat. This act caused a series of acts of purchasing things on the vending machine. Soon, many people waiting for doctors had a candy bar or a bag of chips ready for the “Trick or Treat”. My kids were delighted at their good fortune.

Paragraph 2:
My daughters thanked everyone who gave them treats.
They were very happy, smiling, singing and dancing in the waiting room. When seeing this, everyone in the room was smiling with satisfaction. Gradually, laughter and happiness filled all the corners of the room. I was touched by the scene. Facing unknown health problems, these strangers still thought of giving my three little daughters some Halloween fun. I realised how kind and generous these people were, and I felt extremely grateful to those Halloween heroes.
