Do you often feel sad or upset (沮丧) If so, remember not to watch a happy movie. A sad movie may be much better for you.
Some scientists at Ohio State University, the U.S., have found that sad movies can make people happier. They published their study in a magazine called Communication Research.
Scientists asked 361 college students to watch a sad movie called Atonement. The movie tells a story of two lovers who were separated. They died during World War II at the end of the movie. The 361 college students answered questions from the scientists before, after and three times during the movie to find out their different feelings, including sadness.
According to the results of the survey, scientists found out that people felt better after watching the sad movie. Scientists believed this was because the movie made them think about their own lives and pared to those of the unlucky lovers in the movie, their lives were full of hope.
“I want to live my life to the fullest, and this movie has made me think a lot,” one student wrote.
Silvia Knobloch-Westerwick, the leader of the study, explained that bad moods would make people more thoughtful.” Good moods are generally a sign that everything is fine. You don’t have to worry, and you don’t have to think about problems in your life,” she said.” But bad emotions (情绪), like sadness, make you feel terrible about your situation. Therefore, seeing a sad movie may make you feel bad, but that will cause you to think more about your own close relationships and value them more.”

Have you ever heard of upcycling It is a way of turning old or unnecessary things into something useful and often beautiful.
Is it the same as recycling Recycling usually takes old things, like paper and glass, and breaks them down to make a new product. When you upcycle an object, you are probably doing something different. You can simply refashion it. For example, you might make a bag out of an old T-shirt. Also, the upcycled object is usually in the same, or even better condition.
Upcycling isn’t a new idea. Some of the best examples of modem-day upcycling come from the old times. In those days, things were repurposed over and over until they were no longer useful. Upcycling is a way of life. Things shouldn’t be just thrown away when they can be saved and turned into something useful.
It’s clear that upcycling is green. It is also considered to be more environmentally friendly than recycling. Upcycling can just require your own ideas and work, but recycling requires energy (能源) or water to break down things.
Grace, a young woman from the UK, takes used tea bags and turns them into dresses, shoes and even hats. Every day she drinks some tea, then dries out the tea bags with the tea still in them. When they’re dry, she takes the tea out and puts the bags together to make an item of clothing. This can take a long time, but Grace has made lots of artworks.
In fact, no matter you create objects from old things or buy ready-made products from upcycled things, both ways are helpful for the environment and can bring you something that’s both beautiful and useful. Get started today!

26.What is the main purpose of the passage

31.Labor education (劳动教育) is becoming important in China’s educational system. Primary and middle schools now include it as a must-learn subject. China pushes for labor education in schools because they want students to learn a wide range of skills, including practical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, so that students can use their brains and hands to help society in the future.
Western countries, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, have historically focused more on academic (学术) achievement. However, there is a growing trend towards including labor education in school subjects. For example, the UK is increasingly including labor education as part of character education in its schools. In the US, there is a push for more vocational (职业的) education and community service as part of high school graduation requirements.
Labor education plays an important role in promoting social harmony and community building in China. By taking part in community service projects and other activities, students learn to work together and help people in need. This helps them develop a sense of social responsibility. Labor education also promotes understanding between the city and countryside by teaching students practical skills such as farming and housework, which helps them better understand villages’ challenges and needs. It is important for their personal growth and the development of society.
As China improves its labor education program, it is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s workforce and society. By including labor education in schools, the country is taking a step towards creating a more skilled and responsible generation.

42.【答案】Dear Alan,
How is everything going I’m writing to share some updates. With the Entrance Exam to Senior High School approaching, our class recently held a meeting titled “How to Study Efficiently.” Here are the main ideas:
First, Student 1 emphasized the importance of a good learning attitude, like staying focused and positive. Student 2 suggested improving study methods, such as taking notes and reviewing mistakes. Student 3 added that setting a clear schedule helps avoid procrastination.
As for me, I believe in balancing work and life. For example, I study for 45 minutes and then take a 10-minute break to stretch or listen to music. On weekends, I play basketball to relax. This keeps my mind fresh and reduces stress.
How do you manage study and free time Looking forward to your advice!Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Ming
