Last summer vacation, my family visited Yellowstone National Park in the US to see the Grand
Prismatic Spring. It’s a huge pool of water that looks like a rainbow! The water is super hot—hotter than boiling soup—because it’s heated by magma(岩浆) deep underground.
“Look at the bright orange sides!” I pointed excitedly. “Why is it so colourful ”
Dad explained, “The colours come from bacteria(细菌). They live in the hot water and paint it with their colours!”

Most people learn a lot from reading stories, but writing them can help you too! Every June 23, we celebrate National Writing Day to show how good creative writing is for us.
Creative writing means using your imagination in writing. You can write stories, poems, and even
plays. You might know about novels and short stories, but fan fiction (stories fans write about their
favourite characters) and scripts(剧本) for plays also count!
One good thing is that writing helps you relax and feel calm. When you write, you express thoughts or feelings you might hide. Experts say that exploring a character’s emotions helps you understand your own emotions. This makes writing great for your mental health.
Another benefit is that you will feel more confident after writing. Writing shows you that your ideas are important. As a writer, Mark Haddon says, “It teaches you that your life, family, and opinions
matter.”
Finally, writing lets you get away from real life. Imagine creating a magical world through your pen! This helps you face problems with new ideas and rest your mind.
Whether you write poems, create characters, or rewrite movie scenes, creative writing is a fun way
to help yourself grow. Why not pick up a pen and try it today

One last fun fact: When you yawn(打哈欠), it’s not just because you’re tired—it’s your body’s way of saying, “Hey! I need more air!” Your lungs are telling you to take a deeper breath. So next time you yawn, remember—your lungs are just doing their jobs to keep you alive!

Ⅶ. 【高分范文】
Dear Eric,
I’m sorry to hear you didn’t do well in the exam. You must feel sad, but don’t worry too much.
First, I don’t think studying all day is a good idea. Your brain needs rest too! I
usually study for 40 minutes and then take a 10minute break. Second, it is really useful to ask your
teacher for help. Don’t be shy when you are in trouble. Also, talking to your parents might help. They didn’t shout because they care about you. Tell them you’ll work harder—maybe make a small plan,
like reading English for 20 minutes every day. They’ll be happy to see your effort.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Just take it step by step. You’ll get better!
