Do you spend too many nights trying to fall asleep You are not alone. Nearly one-third of American adults say they do not get the suggested seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Some of the major causes are stress, anxiety, and a culture that experts(专家) say is about productivity, not rest. Sleep experts say that you should avoid unproven methods to fall asleep and stay asleep. Instead, they suggest several simple ideas:
First, try creating a “buffer zone” — a time of separation — between the end of your work day and your bedtime. Experts suggest leaving your work and daily responsibilities alone about an hour before bed.
While in this “buffer zone”, you should not check email, pay bills, do housework, or look on social media. Instead, try to relax with a book, enjoy a fun activity or spend time with loved ones. Also remember eating a large meal right before bedtime can also hurt your sleep. So, try to eat in the early evening hours.
But do not go to bed very hungry, either. Try small amounts of food with protein or healthy fats, like cheese, almonds or peanut butter on whole grain bread.
Besides, having an alcoholic drink or strong coffee after dinner could lead to a long night.
While alcohol(酒) can help you fall asleep at first, it can also hurt your sleep cycle. As a result, the quality of sleep declines. The chances that you will wake up more often in the middle of the night increase.
Caffeine blocks(阻止) adenosine, a chemical that helps make you feel sleepy. And it can take your body up to 10 hours to clear caffeine.
What’s more, if you are still having a hard time getting a good night’s sleep after more than one month of trying, experts say it is time to go to a doctor. This is true if your sleepless nights are hurting your work performance or your mood.
24. How many methods of falling asleep does the writer mention
A. Two. B. Three. C. Four. D. Five.
25. What should Tim do if he wants to have a good night’s sleep

C. Having a good night’s sleep in a scientific way.

Experts say that, among young Internet users, it’s not the boys who create most web content. The pioneers ofthe Internet at the moment are the girls.
According to Jenny Baker, whose hobbies are designing icons, layouts and “glitters”, most boys just aren’t patient enough for blogging, uploading photographs, and creating their own websites. Jenny posts her designs or pictures on her own website, and believes that most boys don’t often have their own sites. She thinks it’s mainly girls.
And Jenny is right. A study shows that, among Internet users aged 12 to 17, a lot more girls blog than boys (35 percent of girls compared with 20 percent of boys). A lot more girls also work on their own web pages (32 percent of girls compared with 22 percent of boys). Girls are also ahead of boys in working on websites for other people.
Girls also seem to be more active in creating their own web business. Some of them have their own teenage podcasts(播客) which have become very successful and sometimes the creators have their own TV shows too. When asked what they think about the study that shows girls are more active on the web, they say that they’re not surprised because girls are very creative, and sometimes more creative than boys.
Other girls have started interactive e-zines (electronic magazines) with articles written for girls by girls. “Girls from everywhere read our articles, and they ask lots of questions,” they say. “I think girls like to help other people more. ” One expert said: “If boys were more interested in helping other people, the numbers would be different. ”
But if girls are more enthusiastic about computers, why do women only have 27 percent of computer-related jobs Maybe this will change in the future — after all, girls like these will be in the job market before too long.
27. What is the type of the passage
A. A story. B. A report. C. A notice. D. A survey.
28. Why do experts say girls are the pioneers ofthe Internet
A. Fewer boys are going to do computer-related jobs.

Alexsandrah is a fashion model in London. She has a twin. But her twin is not her sister. The twin is a product of Artificial Intelligence, or AI. Whenever she has no time to work with a photographer, the virtual(虚拟的) twin takes her place. When a company chooses to use the AI Alexsandrah, the real-life version gets paid. Alexsandrah said her AI twin is exactly like her.
Alexsandrah’s twin is an example of how computer images(图 像 ) are influencing creative industries.
Those in favor of AI in fashion say the virtual models allow companies to show possible buyers how their clothing looks on people of all shapes and sizes. In the real world, it would be difficult and costly to find a model for every skin color and body shape.
The companies that make clothing say using AI keeps people from buying their products, trying them on at home, and then sending them back if they dislike them. The problem is that AI models can take work away from human models, makeup artists and photographers.
The fashion industry has often been criticized(批评) for using models who are only white or tall or who fit one idea of beauty. Activists for including many groups in fashion say some companies could seem like they are paying a small group of people to work when they are just using AI models.
The Associated Press(美联社) recently asked some clothing businesses to state their position on the use of AI models. AP asked Target, Kohls, Nieman Marcus, Walmart and Macys. It also asked international companies Temu, Shein and H&M. Some chose not to answer. Others said they do not use AI models. Walmart said it does not use AI models but “suppliers(供应商) may have a different way to photography. ”
Others in the fashion industry are fully using AI. Cameron Wilson is a former fashion photographer who started a company in Britain called The Digitals. Wilson, who is white, designed a Black, female model named Shudu in 2017. Wilson was criticized for creating a Black model. But Shudu was used in jobs for companies like Louis Vuitton and BMW. It also helped the human model Alexsandrah. She has worked in fashion shows as a real-life version of the AI model.
Alexsandrah said she is proud of her work that has come from The Digitals. “The future generations can look back at and be like, ‘These are the pioneers,’” she said.
31. How does the writer start the topic of computer images
A. By telling a story of the AI Alexsandrah.
B. By introducing Alexsandrah’s twin sister.
C. By giving an example of the AI Alexsandrah.
D. By comparing a real person with an AI model.
32. What does the underlined phrase “in favor of” in paragraph 2 mean
A. Refusing. B. Supporting. C. Disagreeing. D. Confirming.
33. What are the advantages of using AI models
① It is possible to know how the clothing looks on people of all shapes and sizes.
② It is easy and cheap to find a model for every skin color and body shape.
③ It can keep buyers from sending the products back if they dislike them.
④ It will take work away from human models and makeup artists.
A. ①②③ B. ②④ C. ②③④ D. ①②
34. What can we learn from Paragraph 6
A. All clothing businesses like to use AI models.
B. AI models are the pioneers ofthe fashion industry.
C. Shudu designed by Wilson is a popular Black AI model.
D. Alexsandrah is satisfied with the work from The Digitals.
35. What is the main purpose of writing the passage
A. To explain how to use AI models.
B. To introduce a great model in real life.
C. To show different opinions on AI models.
