In March 2020, some people put themselves in danger while trying to take selfies (自拍) with the goats on the Rocky Mountains where they usually live. The coast guard asked people not to take selfies with goats. As well as being harmful to people, a study has shown that disturbing (打扰) wild animals can cause them to worry about their safety, which can make them stop eating. However, some people say that if done properly, taking selfies with animals is safe for both people and animals. What do you think Should selfies with wild animals be banned (禁止)
Yes—________.
Animals need their own space. If people hold a wild animal to take a selfie with it, the animal may feel scared. This causes it to become stressed because it thinks it is in danger. On rare occasions, wild animals can attack people because they feel threatened. People also put themselves in unnecessary danger by entering the animals’ habitat. Wild animals should be respected and not treated as objects for photos.
No—if done properly, there is no problem.
If done correctly, selfies with wild animals can be taken safely without either people or animal being harmed. If the selfie is taken from a distance with the animal in the background and without disturbing it, then this is fine. Selfies are fun and a great way to celebrate the joy and wonder of the planet’s wildlife. By taking and sharing safe and respectful animal selfies, more people can be taught how to respect and look after animals.

The Qingdao Children’s Welfare Home has about 200 children and most of them have health problems. They are lucky because the zoo is near their house. They can see animals out of the windows.

Just then he wanted to build a small zoo in the welfare home. It would be for the children who love animals. So here came the small zoo.
Also, the zoo is different from others because all the animals are children’s favourite. Now there are horses, sheep and peafowl (孔雀) in the small zoo. When the weather is good, the children go to watch and have fun with them.

The smell of my mom’s cooking is very comforting. The warm air in the kitchen makes me feel happy because I know something delicious is coming.
I still remember how I fell in love with my mom’s cooking. As a kid, I was a picky eater and didn’t like trying new foods. But one day after school, my mom was making a new dish. The smell was amazing. I wasn’t sure about the taste, but I tried it and loved it.
Over the years, I have watched her cook many times. She always cares about the little things and makes each meal with patience. She tastes the sauce before using it or adds a little salt if needed. She also puts the food nicely on the plate.

In my daily life, I find that rules are here and there. They help me live and study better. And they play an important role (作用) in keeping me healthy too.
Let’s talk about eating first. There are rules for what and when I should eat. Eating healthy food is really important. I eat more vegetables and fruits with every meal. After all, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Hamburgers and ice-cream taste great, but I can’t have them too often. They are junk food. Also, I always have my meals on time. Eating breakfast is very important. It gives me energy in the morning. If I don’t eat breakfast, I’ll feel hungry and can’t focus on (专注于) my studies.
Exercise also has its rules. I need to exercise regularly. It’s good to exercise three or four times a week. I usually run, swim, use an exercise app or play ball games. When I run, I start slowly and then go fast. I also warm up before exercising. This helps me not to get hurt. And I never exercise too much because maybe it is bad for my health.

In South Korea, students not only wear uniforms during school but also on their way to and from school. This is to show discipline (纪律) even outside of class. You might see groups of students wearing the same uniforms. They often wait for the bus or walk together.
In Germany (德国), students have a rule to call their teachers. They use formal (正式的) titles like “Herr” or “Frau”. They do this to show respect for the teachers. It’s important for them to be polite and respectful to their teachers all the time.
In Finland, students have a special rule. No matter the weather, they always have outdoor playtime. Even if it’s raining or snowing, they go outside to play games in nature. This is because they believe playtime is important for learning and well-being (健康).

The winter holiday is usually a good time to sleep in. But Gao Yuqi, a 14-year-old boy from Anhui, got up at 7:00 a. m. to run at least 2 kilometres every day during the holiday. In fact, the exercise was part of his homework.
Gao was not alone. Many schools across the country asked students to exercise during the winter holiday. Part of the reason is that physical education test scores are now worth more on the senior high school entrance examination(中考). And the score is now worth up to 60 points.
Because of this, Gao’s school now asks students to run when the weather is nice, and exercise indoors if it is bad. Students have to hand in their homework by posting(公布)exercise photos in their classes’ QQ groups. At the Golden Apple Jincheng No. 1 Middle School in Chengdu, students have daily exercise plans. For example, they have to jump rope for two minutes and do three sets of sit-ups every day. Their parents sign their names on their plans when they finish exercising.
