In my opinion, it’s absolutely right to cancel its qualification. Photography competitions should celebrate human creativity and skill, not AI-generated images. Using AI blurs the line between reality and simulation, and it’s unfair to those who captured real moments with their cameras.
However, AI can be a tool for artistic inspiration, but not a substitute for genuine photographic work. Rules are rules, and fairness matters most.

So we started brainstorming ideas together. Mum suggested pouring warm water over the ice, but Dad worried it would freeze again quickly. He found a small water pump in the garage, originally used for a fountain. “We can place it just below the surface to keep the water circulating,” he said. By nine o’clock, we had built a simple device to keep a hole open in the ice. Dad lowered the pump into the pond and connected it to a battery. Soon, a gentle stream broke the surface, melting a small hole. The fish gathered there, their tiny mouths gasping for air. We watched for an hour, and the hole stayed open. “It’s working!” I shouted. That night, the heater finally arrived, but we didn’t need it anymore.
