It is normal to feel a bit worried about exams, especially if you're under pressure from school or family. Exam
stress can cause you to feel nervous or disappointed, and this might influ - ence(影响 ) your sleeping or eating
habits.
If you have any of these feelings or are worried that exam pressure is taking over your life, you are not alone.
Here are some things you can do.
Firstly, let your trusted friends and family know if you're having a hard time, so they can be there to support
you, encourage you and offer a listening ear. You don't have to go through this alone. Keeping it all in will only
make things worse, so don't be afraid to open up.
Secondly, think about all the practical support you need, and be honest with yourself about it. You are allowed
to ask for help. Tell your teachers about your worries. They may have talked to lots of students who are going
through similar things, so they can give you some helpful advice.
Thirdly, be kind to yourself. Think about all the things you have achieved(取得) so far. It can be helpful to
write a list of all the things you like about yourself, and the things other people value about you, too.
What's more, deal with pressure from your parents properly. If your parents put pressure on you, you can tell
them what you feel able to achieve, and let them know that your expectations are different from theirs. You can
also talk to a teacher you trust about the pressure you are under at home.

Money may not buy happiness, but it helps. Many teenagers want to learn how to manage money before going
out into the world. 36 This idea was raised by Dr. Mara Harvey, a money expert. Here are some of her tips.
Learn to make money. Ask parents or neighbors if you can do chores to make pocket money. These could
include washing a car or taking the dog for a walk. 37 In this way, you can also improve your communication
skills, which will help when you have a grown - up job, too.
Help your money grow. Money can't grow if it's sitting inside a piggy bank. Put your money in the bank and
you can get interest(利息). 38 One day you may feel surprised at how much money you have.
Make a plan. If you have a big event, such as a holiday coming up, it might mean you will need to spend more
of your pocket money. Try making a plan for spending and saving. 39 Then it will help you take control of your
money.
40 Figure out how much you can reasonably spend each month. Spend your money on what you truly need.
Then try to cut down on spending. For example, rather than eating out, you can choose to cook at home.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to leave school and have my own life. The only way was to work in the local
paper factory in my town. I was very nervous, and then I told my father I wanted to leave school. I thought he
would say, "No! You are going to college." I was very surprised when he said, "OK. Let's go to the paper factory."
Two days later, he took me to the factory. I imagined everyone to be friends working together and having fun. I
even imagined there would be music there. When we arrived at the factory gate, my father spoke to the guard and
one minute later we were inside. I walked around the factory looking at the building and the workers, listening to
the noise. It was terrible. I ran back to my father and said, "I want to go home." He asked me, "What do you think
of the factory " "Too bad," I answered. I went back to school the next day. I studied hard and finally I got into a
good college. I enjoyed studying English so I decided to major in (主修) languages at college. Thanks to my father
and our trip to the factory, I now work at the United Nations and my dream of being a translator has come true.

Dear Tony,
I quite understand your problem, because I used to have the same trouble.
Here is some advice for you.
First of all, you should make a plan of your pocket money every month.
You can write down how much you spend on different things, and cut down
the unnecessary cost. Besides, you'd better put the money you don't need
to use in the bank. It not only helps you save money but also lets you
form a good habit of managing money. What's more, you can do some
housework to make extra pocket money, which will make you know money is
not easy to get.
I hope my advice can help you and you can use your pocket money properly
soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
