A young boy looked after some sheep on a hill near a village. He felt bored every day. One day, he
decided to play a trick on the villagers. He ran down the hill and shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Help! A wolf is
eating my sheep!”
The villagers heard him and quickly ran up the hill to help. But when they got there, there was no wolf.
The boy laughed and said, “I was only joking!” The villagers were angry and went back to the village.
A few days later, the boy did the same thing again. He shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Help!” Again, the
villagers ran up the hill. Again, there was no wolf. The boy laughed again, and the villagers were even
angrier.
Then one day, a real wolf came. The boy was very scared. He shouted loudly, “Wolf! Wolf! Please
help me!” But this time, nobody came. The villagers thought he was joking again. The wolf ate all the
sheep.
The story tells us that liars are not believed, even when they tell the truth.

Safety signs are everywhere, and they help us follow important rules. Different signs appear in
different places. In school, you can see a “No Running” sign in the hallways. This sign means you must
walk slowly to keep yourself and others safe.
In public places like parks or museums, you may see a “No Smoking” sign. This rule protects
everyone’s health. Some signs remind us to be careful. For example, near a swimming pool, there is often a
“No Diving” sign. It tells people not to jump into the water headfirst because it could be dangerous.
On the road, drivers must follow traffic signs. A red octagon sign means “Stop”. A yellow triangle
sign warns people to slow down. In some countries, safety signs use pictures instead of words so that
everyone can understand them. Remember, following these rules can save lives.

The Mid - Autumn Festival
The festival I'd like to introduce is the Mid - Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. It usually
falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month.
This festival has a rich history and deep meaning. In ancient times, people started the tradition of
worshiping the moon and expressing their wishes for a good harvest. Nowadays, it is a time for family
reunions.
During the festival, various activities are held. People enjoy admiring the full and bright moon, which
symbolizes completeness and unity. Children listen to the legend of Chang'e flying to the moon. And
families get together to have a big dinner.
The most special food during this festival is the mooncake. It has different fillings, such as nuts, fruit, and
egg yolk. Mooncakes are round pastries, representing the full moon and family togetherness.
I recommend the Mid - Autumn Festival to others because it not only allows us to taste delicious
mooncakes but also gives us a chance to cherish the warmth of family and appreciate the beauty of
traditional culture.2025 学年第二学期期中考试
