1. Did you know that a typhoon was coming
你(当时)知道台风要来了吗?
was coming 过去进行时,在这里表示“过去将要发生”。 问过去知不知道某件事要发生,用 “Did you know that... was coming ”。

almost和nearly都作副词,意为“几乎;差不多”。一般情况下,二者可以互换使用,但almost所表示的接近程度大于nearly。此外,almost后面可以与no, nobody, none, nothing, never等表示否定意义的词连用,而nearly没有这种用法。
