I think Orbis still needs more medical volunteers, such as doctors and nurses. When they go to poor areas, they need enough volunteers to perform operations. With more volunteers, they can help more patients regain their sight.

Yes, I’d love to volunteer! Dr Ma’s story in the interview really inspired me—he helps people in poor areas, and I want to be part of that too. Even small efforts, like translating for patients or sharing their stories online, can make a difference.
3. What can you do to help charities like Orbis
I can help charities like Orbis by telling my friends and family about their work, so more people can learn about them. I can also donate some money or join charity events to support their mission of helping people with different eye problems.
1. Orbis’s Flying Eye Hospital Project was started in 1982 with the aim of helping patients in poor areas. 奥比斯的“飞行眼科医院”项目始于1982年,其宗旨是为贫困地区的患者提供帮助。

aim v. 目的是;旨在

2. On the plane, volunteer doctors do operations.
志愿医生在飞机上做手术。
operation n. 手术
have an operation 做手术 (主语为病人);如表达某个部位的手术加on+身体部位
do an operation on sb. 给某人做手术,(主语多为医生)
e.g. She had an operation on her eye last week.
她上周做了眼部手术。
The doctor did an operation on the poor boy.
这位医生给那个可怜的男孩做了手术。
3. Many of our patients can't afford to go to hospital, so we have to go to them. 我们的很多病人都负担不起去看病的费用,所以我们得去他们那儿。
afford意思是“买得起;(有时间)做” ,通常与can、could、be able to连用,多用于否定句和疑问句。
e.g. Can we afford a new car 我们买得起新车吗?
We cannot afford a new house. 我们买不起新房子。
4. Local doctors and nurses are invited on board to learn about eye operations.

on board 在飞机(船、火车)上

短语operate on sb.的意思是“给某人做手术”,do an operation on sb. 也可以表示同样的意思。
e.g. We are going to operate on/do an operation on him right away. 我们要立刻给他做手术。
7. We’re proud to help people see again.
我们为帮助人们再次看见而骄傲。
be proud of 为……而骄傲
e.g. His mother is proud of his son.
他的母亲为他的儿子感到骄傲。
8. Modern medicine is developing quickly and now most eye problems and diseases can be treated and cured. 现代医学正在迅速发展,现在大多数眼部问题和疾病都可以得到治疗甚至治愈。
本句使用了含有情态动词的被动语态。含有情态动词的被动语态的构成为:情态动词can/could/may/might/must/should/...)+be+过去分词。
e.g. To make our school more beautiful, more trees can be planted.
为了让我们学校更漂亮,我们可以种上更多的树。
9. But we need more money to carry on with our work.
但我们需要更多的钱来继续开展工作。
短语 carry on with sth. 的意思是“继续做某事”,carry on doing sth. 也可表示同样的意思。
e.g. Let's have a short break and then carry on with the interview.
让我们稍微休息一下,然后继续进行采访吧。
Millie carried on reading the novel after she got back home.
米莉回到家后继续读那本小说。
