You’re not alone! Many kids feel a mix of willingness and fear when they want to speak up. You can practice while doing homework. Pretend (假装) a teacher asked a question. Then raise your hand and answer. Doing this at home may help your voice feel stronger. Next, try to raise your hand once or twice a week at school. You might ask a friend to give you a smile. It’s easier to be brave when someone’s cheering you on. Finally, when you have a question, tell yourself that your classmates may be curious about the same thing. That may help you feel more confident.
That sounds frustrating. Your brothers and sisters may not realize how strongly you feel about this. Here are a few ideas.
Make a special place.
Find a place to keep your favorite toys. Ask a parent to help you think of a place that is just for your things. Talk it out.
Have a calm dialogue with your brothers and sisters. You could say, “This toy is really important to me. Can we make a deal that you will ask before touching it ” Offer other toys.
Choose one or two toys that you are willing to share. That way, your brothers and sisters will still feel included and your special things will stay safe.
28.Which part of a magazine is the passage probably taken from
A. Science news. B. Healthy lifestyles.
C. Personality tests. D. Teenage problems.
29.What does the underlined word “included” mean

Sammy checked his calendar.
“Yes!” he cried, jumping out of bed. “I mean NO! It’s Opposite Day!” He put his shirt on inside out and walked backward down the hall.
“Good night, Mom,” he said in the kitchen. “Have a bad day at work!”
Mom turned to him. “Excuse me ”
“It’s Opposite Day!” Sammy explained.
“Would you like some pancakes ” Dad asked.
“No, thanks,” replied Sammy, holding out his plate. “They look terrible.”
Dad raised his eyebrows.
“Opposite Day!” Sammy said again.

“Yay!” said the kids. But then they remembered what day it was.
That afternoon, Ms. Trix asked the kids to present their book reports.
“Oh no!” thought Sammy. He’d been so excited about Opposite Day that he had left his report at home.
Sammy put his head in his hands and thought. He could make something up, or he could tell the truth.
“Ms. Trix,” he confessed when she called on him, “I won’t be able to present my book report today.”
Ms. Trix looked at Sammy and smiled. “Well, it’s Opposite Day. I guess that means you will be able to bring it in tomorrow! I expect it to be awful. And by that I mean great!”
Sammy sighed with relief.
After school, at Sammy’s house, Marcie and Sammy climbed a tree and played on the swings.
“This is so boring,” Marcie said.

Listening to music can make you feel less sick when in a moving car, according to new research—but it depends on the type of song you play.
Motion (移动) sickness is feeling light-headed or like throwing up, often when you’re travelling by car, boat, plane or train. About one in three people are very likely to get motion sickness but almost everyone gets motion sickness if the movement is strong enough. Children are more likely to feel sick than adults, yet no one knows why some people fight against it their whole lives and others don’t.
People get motion sickness because their senses are sending different messages to their brains. In a moving car, for example, your eyes tell your brain you’re moving because objects are rushing by, but your inner ear tells you’re not moving at all. This can make you feel sick.
The volunteers were set up with equipment (设备) so that they felt like they were in a car, and small sensors were stuck to their heads to record electrical activity in their brains.
The team divided the volunteers into six groups. Four groups listened to music after a drive that made them feel sick; one group didn’t listen to anything and instead paid attention to calming themselves for one minute; and the other group’s “drive” ended before they started feeling sick.
The results showed that joyful music was more effective (有效的) at reducing motion sickness than anything else. Soft music was a close second, followed by lively music. However, sad music actually slowed down recovery. Even people who listened to nothing felt better sooner than those who listened to sad music.
34.What is the main finding of the new study
A. A new method of keeping people healthy.
B. A new method of reducing motion sickness.

The earliest forms of Chinese raincoats were made of straw and they were called “straw rain capes”. Now, few people wear straw rain capes anymore. But in the past, they were popular, especially among farmers and fishermen.
The straw rain capes were described in lots of poems and articles in different periods. They were everywhere in the countryside of China in the 1970s. But as society develops, it is slowly losing its place. Later, other materials were found to be more suitable for making rain capes.
Fan Licai, a woman in Zhuliangzhuang Village, Lianyungang City of Jiangsu Province, has a special love for straw rain capes. It is said that she is the only one still making straw rain capes for a living in Ganyu District. The woman learned the skill when she was 12. When she was young, she could make two capes in three days, and make a living for her family. Now her children ask her not to make capes anymore. They think she should enjoy her time. However, she still continues to make straw rain capes to keep this traditional skill alive.
Making a straw rain cape needs 4 kilograms of straw, and for Fan now needs 4-5 days to finish a single cape. “Still, I hope more people will learn about this traditional skill. I wish someone would take it up and keep it going for years to come. It is not just a straw rain cape, but a special part of our culture and history.” Fan said.
