Nowadays, the Earth is facing more and more serious environmental problems because of human activities. With the rapid development of industry and transportation, more people drive private cars, burn fossil fuels (化石燃料) every day, and cut down large areas of forests for land and wood. In Lantian, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, there is a popular village secretary (书记) named Pang Fuqiang, who is well-known online as “Qiangqiang”. He has won people’s hearts by delivering (递送) warm meals to the elderly in his village every day.
Qiangqiang’s village is in a mountainous area, where most young people go out to work, leaving many elderly people who have difficulty cooking. Seeing this, Qiangqiang decided to cook and deliver meals to these 74 elderly people. At first, he offered free meals, but few elderly people accepted them because they felt it was shameful.
