A long time ago, in Greek mythology (希腊神话), there lived a man named Argos. He was a loving husband and a proud father. He worked hard and was very good at his job. But there was something special about him—he had 100 eyes!
Having so many eyes was a great thing. He could see everything around him. Most importantly, because he had so many eyes, he was very good at protecting things. Even when he was asleep, he would only close a few of his eyes, while the others stayed open, keeping watching.
Argos worked for Hera, the powerful goddess. His main job was to protect a very special cow that Hera loved very much. The cow had to stay alone, away from other cows and far from people. Luckily for Argos, this job was easy—the cow spent most of its time peacefully eating grass.
However, Zeus, a god who had other plans, wanted to take the cow. He came up with a clever stratagem (计谋). He found a man who could play beautiful music and told him to play a soft, calming song for Argos. The moment Argos heard the music, he felt sleepy. Slowly, all of his eyes closed, and he fell into a deep sleep.
Seeing this, Zeus quickly took the cow away. When Hera found out what happened, she was so angry that she turned Argos into a peacock (孔雀). However, she didn’t forget his many eyes—she placed them on the peacock’s long, beautiful tail to honor him.
Zeus, feeling sorry for the trouble he caused, turned Argos into a group of stars in the night sky. Even today, if you look up at the stars, you can still see Argos watching over the place where his story began.

The captain stood proudly on the high walls of Troy (特洛伊), looking at the empty beach where the Greek (希腊) ships had once been. The morning sun shone on the sea, and a cool wind carried the taste of salt and success. “After ten long years, they’ve finally given up!” the captain said, raising his sword (剑) high. The Trojans below cheered and jumped, “We’ve won! The Greeks are gone!”
Just then, an old soldier (士兵) named Hector narrowed his eyes and pointed towards the beach. “Captain, look! They left something behind—a giant wooden horse!” The captain laughed, “Those foolish Greeks! They built it but couldn’t even take it home!” He turned to his soldiers. “Bring it inside! Let it stand in our city as a symbol of our success!”
Some of the soldiers were not sure, “what if it’s a trick The Greeks are cunning (狡猾的).” The captain shouted, “Shut up! After ten years of fighting, they’ve failed. This horse is our prize!” He asked Trojans to pull the giant horse through the gates with ropes.
That night, the city held a big celebration. Torches lit up the square as people danced and sang around the wooden horse. “To the stupid Greeks!” a drunk soldier sang and raised his cup. “They spent years building this horse, only to leave it behind! I haven’t laughed like this since my childhood!” the captain laughed and said.
As the party died down, the Trojans locked all the gates of the city and then all went to sleep.
At midnight, the square fell into silence. A hidden door on the horse’s belly (腹部) suddenly opened, and a Greek soldier came out. Then armed Greek soldiers went out one by one, they moved quickly and quietly in the darkness. Within minutes, the Greeks unlocked the gates, flooding the city.

根据后文“Fiction is…Non-fiction is different from fiction.”

根据后句“She is reading a novel called Childhood now.”以及第二段提到的“Novels are all fiction.”
根据前句“The book is very wonderful.”

D
Early in the morning, Troy was in big fire. The Greeks, who had failed for ten years, had won with a single trick. The captain’s joy turned to fear as he finally got to know: the horse was never a gift—it was a trap, and the “gift” had destroyed (摧毁) them.
22.Why did the Trojans bring the wooden horse into the city
A.Because the Greeks asked them to keep it safe.
B.Because they believed it was a gift from the gods.
C.Because they wanted to burn it to celebrate success.
D.Because they thought it was a prize of their success.
23.How did the Greeks finally won after 10 years
A.By attacking the city with a stronger army. B.By hiding soldiers inside the wooden horse.
C.By making a peace agreement with the Trojans. D.By waiting for the Trojans to give up.
24.What did the Trojans do during the celebration
A.They prepared for another war. B.They thanked the Greeks for leaving.
C.They killed the men in the wooden horse. D.They sang, danced, and joked about the Greeks.
25.Which lesson does this story teach
A.Never trust your enemies (敌人). B.Big things are always expensive.

Then armed Greek soldiers went out one by one, they moved quickly and quietly in the darkness. 24. 根据“That night, the city held a big celebration. Torches lit up the square as people danced and sang around the wooden horse. ‘To the stupid Greeks!’ a drunk soldier sang and raised his cup.”
