当我们询问过去发生的事情
现在时间里,经常发生的动作或存在的状态
(1)表示过去某时或某一段时间内发生的动作或存在的状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用,如yesterday,the day before yesterday,last day/month /year 等。
He ate an egg for breakfast yesterday.
他昨天早餐吃了一个鸡蛋。
(2)表示过去经常或反复发生的动作,常和often,always 等表示频率的副词连用。
He was always late for school last year.
去年他上学总是迟到。

一般过去式的一般疑问句结构为:含有系动词be则______________________________,句末用问号。含有实义动词则___________________________,句末用问号。
把was/were提到句首,首字母大写

一般过去时
大多数动词在词尾直接加-ed。
如:work-worked watch-watched
动词过去式的规则性变化
以 e 结尾的动词:直接在词尾加-ed
如:like-liked
以 “辅音字母 + y” 结尾的动词:先将 y 变为 i,再加 -ed
如:study-studied worry-worried
以 “重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个辅音字母
(字母w, y, x除外)” 的动词:双写这个辅音字母
加-ed。
如:stop--stopped plan--planned
有许多动词的过去式是不规则变化,需要单独记忆。

一般过去时 一般现在时
时间状语不同 常与表示过去的时间状语连用,如 last week, yesterday, two days ago,last month等。 The farmer lost his horse last week. 这个农夫上个 星期丢了马。
常与表示现在的时间状语连用,如 now,every day等。
We read English every morning.

结构不同 主语 + was/were +其他. 主语+动词过去式+其他. The king waited for a few months and grew very angry. 国王等了几个月,变得非常生气。 They were friendly to the ugly duckling. 它们对小鸭子很友好。 主语 + am/is/are +其他.
主语+动词(单三)+其他.
My mother enjoys reading and I enjoy traveling.
