parents did when they were young Their childhood
答案第 1页,共 2页
was full of simple, happy outdoor games. Let’s have a look at two of them.
Rubber Band Skipping (跳皮筋)
This was girls’ favorite game. They needed a long elastic rubber band. Two kids stood
facing each other, holding the band tight around their ankles. The jumper stood between them and
did special moves — hooking (勾 ), stepping, jumping, and crossing the band while singing
rhymes (节拍).
As the jumper improved his skills, the band went higher — from ankles to knees, then
waist, and even shoulders or heads.
Stone Grabbing (抓石子)
This game only needed 5 little round stones. First, a player threw one stone up into the air.
While it was falling, she quickly picked up one stone from the ground and caught the falling one
at the same time. Then she had two stones in her hand. After that, she threw both of them and
picked up one more stone from the ground. She caught the two falling stones, and then she held
▲ stones. Each time, she threw all the stones in her hand, picked up another stone from the
ground, and caught the falling ones. She kept doing this until she held all five stones and passed
this simple level. It needed quick hands and good eyes.

gun to hunt ducks. Lucy loved animals. She hated hunting.
“Don’t shoot the ducks!” She shouted. “They have feelings, just like us!”
Mr. Gregg laughed. “Go home, little girl. You’re crazy!” The boys laughed too.
Lucy felt her finger burning. She pointed at them and then ran home.
Scene Two
The next morning, Philip woke up and shouted, “We have wings!” Mr. Gregg ran in. His
face went colorless. The boys’ arms had become long wings covered with brown feathers. Their
bodies were small. Their noses were hard and pointed.
“We’ve turned into ducks!” Philip cried.
Mr. Gregg had wings too. Their house was no longer on the ground. It sat in a huge tree.
Four wild ducks were inside their house, sitting on the chairs. The ducks looked as big as humans.
Scene Three
During the long night, the ducks stared (盯) at them angrily. The Greggs were so scared that
they wanted to run away. Every time they tried to do that, the ducks bit them. One of the ducks
held the Greggs’ gun and pointed at them. Mr. Gregg’s heart stopped. For the first time, he knew
the fear of being hunted.
“Please don’t!” Mr. Gregg shouted, holding his hands up. “We’re sorry for the things we
did! We were wrong!”
Philip and William cried too, “We’ll never hunt! We promise!”
After hearing what they said, the ducks put down the gun.
Scene Four
Feeling sorry, Mr. Gregg looked at his sons and said in tears, “Now we know how the
ducks feel. We won’t hunt anymore.” The sons nodded.
The next morning, their wings disappeared. Their arms and noses were back. The house
was on the ground. The ducks went away.

①Seeing someone who appears to be walking on a cloud
might sound like a dream. But you can find this sight in the Salar de
Uyuni (乌尤尼盐沼) in Bolivia. What’s special about the salar is
that this thin pool goes on for miles, creating a seemingly endless
natural “mirror”. The walking-on-air scene is caused by something
common—reflection (反射). When light shines on a surface, it does
not pass through or disappear. Instead, it bounces (反弹) back. That
is reflection. So people feel like they are walking on a “mirror”.
②About 40,000 years ago, the area was a large basin (盆地)—a low place with mountains
around. The mountains stopped the rainwater from running away and the rainwater stayed and
collected there, forming a huge lake. The lake had plenty of salt inside. Over thousands of years,
as the climate became drier, the huge lake slowly dried up. After it dried, a layer (层) of salt was
left on the surface.
③Now, the area is still a salt flat. But when the rainy season comes, rainwater covers the
salt with a thin layer of water. This creates the endless natural “mirror”.
④Although the area seems empty, a few places are full of life. They are home to some
animals such as foxes. These animals learned to find food and water in this strange land. They
manage to live on the salar.
⑤With about 10 billion tons of salt lying around, it’s no surprise that the salt here is a big
business. But the real treasure lies under the ground. Lithium (锂), also called “the white gold”, is
found under the salt. It is used to make smartphones. Besides salt and lithium, tourism also brings
a lot of money. Every year, thousands of visitors come to see the amazing natural mirror.
⑥However, with more and more visitors coming every year, this special place is facing
problems. Some visitors leave rubbish behind. Others walk on the salt in the wrong way and
compromise the thin water layer that creates the “mirror”. If these problems are not solved, the
salary may lose its magic one day.
53.Which of the following mainly shows the cause of the “walking-on-air” scene
A.The sky turns blue on a sunny day.
B.A rainbow appears in the sky after rain.
C.A spoon in a glass of water looks broken.
D.When your phone screen is off, you can see your face on it.
54.Which order shows how the Salar de Uyuni formed

55.Which sentence uses “compromise” with the same meaning as the underlined word
compromise / k mpr ma z/ v.①妥协 ②损害 ③违背(原则)
A.We are not prepared to compromise on safety standards.
B.After much argument, the referee finally compromised.
C.I compromised and chose a movie I didn’t like.
D.Drinking too many soft drinks can compromise your health.
56.Which is the best structure of the passage
A. B.

Do you remember the taste of your birthday cake, the sound of your
best friend’s laughter, or the warm hug from your grandma These are
happy memories.
Happy memories can give you hope for the future. According to a
study by Professor Tim Wildschut, looking back on positive feelings
reminds us that difficult moments do not last forever, and something better
is always waiting ahead.
Besides, happy memories can build confidence, a sure feeling about your own ability to do
things and be successful. Experts say that when you remember a time you did something well—
like giving a good speech, solving a difficult problem, or staying calm under pressure—you
realize you have that ability inside you. So when new challenges come, you won’t doubt (质疑)
yourself.
So how can we hold on to happy memories Find a small box, decorate it, and fill it with
things that remind you of good memories, like photos or gifts. Open the box whenever you need to
feel calm, cheerful, or remember the good things in life.
On the other hand, think about this—when you remember a happy moment, what helps you
see it clearly in your mind Is it just the picture Or is it also the sounds, the smells, and the
feelings Imagine you’re at the beach. If you only look at the sea, your memory might not be clear.
But if you also notice how the sand feels under your feet, how the gentle waves sound, and how
the sea smells, your memory becomes much clearer. It will be easier for you to live that moment
again if you collect more details.
Happy memories matter a lot to us. The passage mainly talks about 75 to keep
happy memories. Many people remember such happy memories because they make people feel
76 . To remember happy memories, 77 . Moreover, use all your senses to help you
remember. 78 , the easier it is to relive that moment later.
