What does it mean to be healthy For some, it means having a strong body that never gets sick. For others, it means being able to run fast or lift heavy things. But in my opinion, true health is a balance. It‘s about finding the right balance 11 our physical health, our mental health, and even our social life.
A few months ago, I was so focused on getting good grades 12 I almost forgot about this balance. I studied for hours every day. I stopped playing basketball with my friends because I thought it was a 13 of time. I often ate fast food in my room 14 I could study while eating. I even stayed up late to finish my homework. I told 15 , “It’s only for a short time. After the exams, I can relax.”
But my body had a different idea. Soon, I started getting terrible headaches. I couldn‘t fall asleep 16 night. I felt tired and sad all the time. When I looked in the mirror, I saw a pale and tired face looking back at me. I had lost my appetite and my energy. I was sick, not just in body, 17 in mind.
One evening, my best friend came to visit me. He was 18 to see me in such a state. “Look at you! You are working yourself to death! What’s the 19 of being a top student if you are not happy or healthy ” he asked.
His words were like a wake-up call. I realized I had lost the balance. I was so focused on one part of my life 20 I had hurt the others.
From that day on, I made some changes. I made a new schedule. I 21 enough time to study, but I also made sure to have time for exercise and rest. I joined my friends for basketball again. I started to cook simple and healthy meals for 22 . Slowly, the headaches went away. I began to sleep well and feel happy again.
Now, I understand that health is not just the absence of illness. It’s a state of complete well-being. It’s about 23 a balance between all parts of our life. We 24 remember that our bodies and minds are connected. What we do to one, we do to the other. So, let’s try to live a 25 life. Let’s find our own balance and truly be healthy.

三、阅读理解
Tom was a hard-working middle school student who always put his study first. He spent almost all his time sitting at his desk doing homework and reviewing lessons, never playing outdoor games or going out with his friends to have fun. He firmly thought that relaxation was a waste of precious time, and only studying hard could help him get good grades and make his parents proud.
One day, Tom suddenly felt very tired and weak. He couldn’t focus on his homework no matter how hard he tried, and he even had a terrible headache that lasted for a whole afternoon. His mother was very worried about him and immediately took him to see a doctor. The doctor examined Tom carefully and said that he was too stressed because of long-term overwork, and he really needed to relax properly. The doctor advised Tom to take more breaks every day and do something he enjoyed to release his pressure.
Tom followed the doctor’s advice strictly. He started to go for a walk with his parents after dinner every day, enjoying the cool evening air and chatting with them about his school life. On weekends, he also played basketball with his classmates in the school playground. At first, Tom felt guilty because he thought he was wasting time that could be used for studying. But soon, he found that he felt much better—his headache was gone, and he could focus on his study more easily than before. A month later, Tom got excellent grades in his mid-term exams. He finally realized that relaxation wasn’t a waste of time at all; it helped him study better and stay healthy. Now, Tom knows how to balance study and relaxation, and he becomes happier and more energetic than before.

We usually go to see a doctor when we are ill. Doctors may give us some medicine, and the medicine often makes us feel better.
But sometimes the doctor’s medicine doesn’t work. This happened to one man, Thomas Smith. He was ill in hospital, but he wasn’t getting well. Then he found a new “doctor” inside himself. He saw funny films. He read funny books. And something wonderful happened. Laughing took away his pain after half a year. He could have a good night’s rest. His own happy feeling helped him get well again. He wrote his story in his book. He said laughing was very useful. It was the best “medicine”.
Another man, Simon Beck, was also ill, and he had a serious pain in his back. The doctor couldn’t stop it, so the man began to “picture” his pain. In his head he “drew” a picture of a dog. He imagined it to be a real dog. And it was hurting him. Then the man talked softly to the dog. He put his hand on the dog’s head and made friends with it. One year later, his pain went away!
These stories may surprise you, but more and more people are getting well in this way. So call on the “doctor” inside your mind, and keep happy and well!

61.例文
Hello, everyone.
Recently, our class carried out a survey about students’ favorite free-time activities. I got the data through questionnaires and made a chart.
According to the chart, 35% of the students like doing sports, such as playing basketball and running. 25% enjoy reading books. 20% prefer listening to music, and the remaining 20% take part in other activities like drawing. As for me, my favorite free-time activity is reading. I started it when I was seven years old. My grandma read stories to me every night, and then I fell in love with it. I like it because reading can open my mind and let me know more about the world. It also makes me feel relaxed when I am tired. I often read storybooks on weekends.
I hope everyone can find a good free-time activity and make our life more wonderful.
Thanks for listening!
