A
In recent years, there has been a growing trend of students using electronic devices in class. While some people believe that electronic devices can enhance learning, others argue that they bring more harm than good.
Proponents of using electronic devices in class claim that they can provide students with access to a wealth of information. With just a few clicks, students can look up definitions, search for relevant articles, and watch educational videos. This helps them deepen their understanding of the knowledge and learn more efficiently. In addition, electronic devices such as tablets and laptops allow students to take notes more conveniently. They can type faster than writing by hand, and easily organize and edit their notes. This saves time and makes reviewing easier. Moreover, some educational apps can make learning more interactive and engaging. For example, apps with quizzes and games can help students memorize knowledge in a fun way.
However, opponents hold a different view. They argue that electronic devices can distract students from their studies. Many students may use their devices to chat with friends, play games, or browse social media instead of paying attention to the teacher. This not only affects their own learning but also disturbs other students. Furthermore, using electronic devices for a long time can be harmful to students’ health. Staring at the screen for hours can cause eye strain, headaches, and other health problems. It can also lead to poor posture and lack of physical activity. Another concern is that students may become overly dependent on electronic devices. They may rely too much on searching for information online and lose the ability to think independently and solve problems on their own.
In my opinion, the use of electronic devices in class should be regulated rather than banned. Teachers can set clear rules on how to use electronic devices during class. For example, students can only use them for learning purposes and are not allowed to use them for entertainment. Schools can also provide training for students on how to use electronic devices effectively. In addition, teachers can design activities that combine the use of electronic devices with traditional teaching methods to maximize the benefits and minimize the drawbacks.

A.Banning them completely. B.Restricting their use properly.

Is looking fashionable (时髦的) more important than being comfortable Many people seem to think so, judging (判断) by the things they wear. But fashion is not everything. It is more important to be a healthy and good person.
People go to great lengths to be fashionable. Some people think they have to have a certain body type, so they go on extreme, unhealthy diets in order to change their bodies. In addition, many women wear uncomfortable fashions, such as high-heeled shoes that cause pain to their feet, and tight body shapes that limit (限制) blood flow. Men and women alike spend time and money on products that change their natural hair colour or hairstyle. Some people even spend several hours a day in front of a mirror. Is fashion so important that people spend so much time and effort on changing what they look like
If the purpose of fashion is to make a person feel good, it does not make sense that he or she would go through so much discomfort to be fashionable. Fashion should not come first. People should put their health and positive image in the first place. What people wear does not say anything about their personalities. Instead of spending hours in choosing a dress, perhaps you should call your friends and do something together, such as playing soccer or badminton. Instead of going on strict diets and forcing yourself to stay hungry, why not eat some healthy foods and then exercise By doing these things, you can keep a healthy lifestyle and truly grow as a person.
5.What is the author’s attitude to people’s putting fashion above health
A.Curious. B.Encouraging. C.Unsupportive. D.Unclear.
6.What is paragraph 2 mainly about
A.The fashion industry is strong. B.Beauty products are harmful to health.
C.People try very hard to be fashionable. D.Both women and men search for beauty.
7.Which of the following activities would the author most likely recommend
A.Going skiing with friends. B.Starting a new diet with a friend.
C.Changing hairstyles every week. D.Shopping for fashionable clothes.
8.What is the author’s main purpose in writing the text
A.To introduce the latest fashion trends.
B.To tell readers how to remain fashionable.
C.To advise readers to value health over fashion.
D.To show readers advantages and disadvantages of dieting.

When French writer Léo reached the top of a remote Icelandic mountain where only a few bits of ice remained, his first thought was that it was breathtakingly beautiful— until one of the guides gently told him that everything around him used to be glacier (冰川). “And then it hit me,” Léo said. “That’s when I realized how serious the situation was.”
Léo’s realization isn’t unique. In recent years, a growing number of tourists have started seeking similar experiences as they journey to see landmarks, landscapes and even entire destinations that may soon disappear forever because of climate change. Known as last-chance tourism, this “see-it-before-it’s-gone” practice is contentious. Research indicates that the amount of fuel it takes to travel to these destinations could speed up their very decline. On the other hand, advocates say that, done responsibly, it can also inspire travelers to protect the very places they came to see.
Retired scientist Nadine Marshall has studied how the connection travelers and tourists establish with the Great Barrier Reef (大堡礁) has turned into “reef grief (悲痛)”. She found that people reported a particularly high level of reef grief after bleaching (白化) incidents due to climate change. Unlike locals, who had seen the reef change over time, first-time visitors were grieving something they had never seen — the reef’s previous unbleached state — indicating that people can quickly form a strong emotional attachment to a place, which can increase the likelihood of climate-friendly behaviour.
“It’s good to feel grief because it’s motivating and especially when the grief is due to our mismanagement of the planet,” Marshall said. “It makes us want to be better and to change or to be solution-oriented.”
For Léo, the key is to grieve collectively and then channel that emotion into action. After returning from Iceland, Léo helped organize a festival in Lyon discussing the challenges of and possible solutions to climate change.
9.What is the main reason behind the growth of last-chance tourism
A.A scientific interest in climate change.
B.A sense of responsibility to protect nature.
C.The growing desire for adventure tourism.
D.The fear of missing out on disappearing sites.
10.What does the underlined word “contentious” in paragraph 2 probably mean
A.Leading to disagreement. B.Highly profitable.
C.Helping the environment. D.Strictly prohibited.
11.What did Marshall find about first-time visitors to the Great Barrier Reef
A.They decided to learn how to protect the reef.
B.They hardly believed the reef was once healthier.
C.They felt a strong loss for a reef they never saw.
D.They understood reef problems better than locals.
12.What is the most suitable title for the passage
A.The Popularity of Last-Chance Tourism
B.The Challenges of Saving Dying Landscapes
C.Can Last-Chance Travel Inspire Protection
D.Should We Stop Climate-Damaging Tourism

It might seem surprising, but one of the best ways to keep your brain active is to keep your body in motion. Exercise improves blood flow to the brain, helping to keep your brain cells healthy and happy. Regular exercise — between 75 and 150 minutes per week — has been tied to improved memory function in adults.
