Last month, our class held a special “book drifting” activity. All the students in our class took part in it, and we all had a wonderful time.
The activity was held by our English teacher, Ms Li. She wanted to encourage us to read more books and share good books with our classmates. Before the activity, every student prepared a book they liked. We wrote a short introduction of the book on a card, and also wrote down our own feelings about it. We put the card inside the book, and brought it to the classroom.
On the day of the activity, we put all the books on the desks in the classroom. The classroom became a small “book fair”. Each student could walk around and choose any book they liked. When you chose a book, you could take it home to read for two weeks. After you finished reading it, you needed to write down your own opinion on the card, and bring it back to “drift” to another classmate.
I chose a book called Wonder for the activity. It’s a warm story about a boy with a facial problem. I read the book in one week, and I was deeply touched by the story. I wrote down my feelings on the card, and I hoped the next reader would love the book too.
