It has a new theme focusing on solidarity.22. What can we infer about the registration for EYW 2026 A. It requires participants to pay a small fee. B. It is only open to young people in Brussels.C. Participants must attend in-person activities. D. Active volunteers are more likely to be selected.23. What is the European Commissioner’s attitude towards young people A. Doubtful B. Critical C. Supportive D. IndifferentBIn a mountain village in southwest China, 72-year-old Li Guilin has spent 35 years turning dry hills into a thick forest, an achievement many thought impossible. When Li was a young man in the 1980s, the red soil hills surrounding his village were so poor that even weeds (野草) struggled to grow. Heavy summer rains would rush down the bare slopes, causing mudslides that buried farmland and destroyed adobe houses. “In 1983, a flash flood swept away my neighbor’s three cows and their entire wheat harvest,” Li recalled, gesturing toward the now-green hills. “That night I couldn’t sleep. I knew I had to fix this, even if it took my whole life.”In 1991, Li began his task alone. Every dawn, he would walk 5 kilometers to the nearest spring, carry 20-liter buckets of water up 45-degree slopes, and plant 50 young trees daily. His straw shoes wore through every two weeks, and his palms developed hard skin so thick they felt like tree bark. “Villagers called me ‘the hill fool’,” Li joked. “They said I was wasting time when I should be growing potatoes. Once, my own brother hid my tools to make me stop.” During cold winters, he wrapped saplings (树苗) in straw to protect them from frost, and during droughts, he carried water even when his knees trembled with tiredness.Today, the once-empty hills are covered with over 200, 000 trees. The forest now holds80% more rainfall, and sudden floods haven’t occurred in 15 years. Villagers have planted 50acres of apple orchards and vegetable patches, increasing annual household (家庭的) income from 800 yuan to over 12, 000 yuan. Last spring, 30 university students from Chengdu camped here to learn Li’s tree-planting techniques, and his story has inspired over 2, 000 urban volunteers to join reforestation projects across Sichuan province.“I’m just an ordinary farmer,” Li said modestly. “I didn’t do anything special. I just kept going when others gave up. If one person can make a difference, imagine what a group of people can do.”24. Why did Li Guilin decide to plant trees A. To follow the villagers’ advice. B. To earn money by selling trees.C. To protect his village from floods. D. To become famous in his hometown.25. What can we infer from Paragraph 2 about Li Guilin A. He was strong-willed and patient. B. He was supported by most villagers.C. He had rich experience in planting trees. D. He gave up several times due to difficulties.26. What is the main idea of Paragraph 3 A. Villagers started to grow fruit trees and vegetables.B. Li Guilin planted more than 200, 000 trees in 35 years.C. Li Guilin’s efforts brought great changes to his village.D. Young people came to learn tree-planting from Li Guilin.27. What message does Li Guilin’s story convey A. Old people are wiser than young people. B. Wealth comes from nothing but hard work.C. Environmental protection is everyone’s duty. D. Determination can lead to extraordinary results.CBeijing’s Shijingshan district has opened the third phase (阶段) of its humanoid robot training center, using advanced simulation (模拟器) and touch-sensing technologies to build China’s largest robotics database. The project provides simulated environments such as homes, hotels, supermarkets and factories, where over 100 robots can train and collect essential data.Robots first learn tasks in a controlled simulation, then undergo about a week of real-machine training before being deployed (部署) in real-world applications. The collected data helps supply AI models, train robots for specific tasks, and support larger projects. What makes the project special is its use of vision, movement and touch sensing together. While cameras alone may miss details, adding touch sensors allows robots to do careful jobs, like holding eggs without breaking them or picking up fragile things like potato chips. “Physical contact data is essential for large-scale deployment in the future,” said Dong Jianqiang, head of the training platform. The third phase includes dozens of robot models from different manufacturers, allowing cross-platform training that was not possible in earlier phases. This flexibility, Dong said, is key to developing more adaptable robots. The first two phases laid the groundwork for large-scale data collection, with phase one deploying 100 wheeled robotic arms and phase two adding 100 humanoid robots. A fourth phase is planned to introduce “data collection gloves” for easier training.Strong market demand is driving such projects. A report estimates that by 2030, China and the US will need about 2. 1 million humanoid robots for making goods and household services, representing a potential market of around $45. 6 billion. Robots are expected to enter industrial settings first, then households over the longer term. How fast we start using robots is different mainly because of how complex the place is. Factories and work sites are easier to control— things are the same most of the time, so it’s easier to use robots well. But at home, as Dong said, “the real world’s many problems are all packed into a small space. This makes it hard to know what will happen next… so it will take longer for many people to have robots at home— maybe five to ten years— before we see big changes.”28. What is the correct order of the training process for a robot before it is used in real-world applications A. Real-machine training→simulation learning→deployment.B. Simulation learning→real-machine training→deployment.C. Data collection→simulation learning→real-machine training.D. Cross-platform training→simulation learning→deployment.29. According to the article, what can robots do with the help of touch sensors A. Move faster in factories. B. Replace visual systems completely.C. Handle eggs without causing breakage. D. Work in any home environment immediately.30. What is planned for the fourth phase of the training center A. To add 100 humanoid robots.B. To deploy 100 wheeled robotic arms.C. To build a larger simulation environment.D. To introduce “data collection gloves” for easier training.31. What can be inferred about the future use of humanoid robots in households A. It is expected to begin within the next two years.B. It will happen at the same time as in industrial settings.C. It will not require any further technological development.D. It will be delayed due to the potential problems of home environments.DScientists have found huge amounts of very old water deep inside Earth, thousands of kilometers below the surface. This discovery may help explain how our planet changed from a hot, burning world into a blue one full of life. The team used a special machine to create the extreme heat and pressure found 660 kilometers underground. They found that bridgmanite— the most common mineral (矿物质) in Earth’s mantle (地幔) — can hold a lot of water even at temperatures as high as 4, 100℃. The mantle is the thick, partly solid layer between the crust (地壳) and the outer core. It makes up about 84% of Earth’s size. The study was led by Professor Du Zhixue from the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry. The results were published in the journal Science. Du explained that 4. 6 billion years ago, Earth was not the gentle blue planet we know today. Many space rocks kept hitting it, turning its surface and inside into a huge ocean of melted rock. It was so hot that water could not stay as a liquid. Still, Du said, “in that early hot time, a large amount of water was trapped deep inside Earth.”As the melted rock ocean cooled, it turned into solid minerals and formed the thick mantle. Bridgmanite was the first and most common mineral to form. At a tiny scale, it worked like a sponge, holding water inside its structure. Earlier studies said bridgmanite could only hold a little water. But by heating their samples to 4, 100°C with their new machine, Du’s team found that the mineral can hold more water when it is hotter—— five to one hundred times more than earlier estimates. The water trapped deep in the mantle is not just sitting there. It works like a lubricant, causing the mantle to move more easily with a lower melting point of rocks. This movement pushes the large plates on Earth’s surface and provides steady energy for the planet’s changes.Over time, some of this deeply stored water came back to the surface through flows of melted rock, helping to form the early oceans and air. Du estimates that the amount of water kept in the early mantle may have been equal to 0. 08 to 1 times the volume of all today’s oceans combined. The research was supported by several major Chinese science organizations.32. According to the second paragraph, what role does the special machine play in the research A. It helps scientists drill into Earth’s core.B. It measures the volume of Earth’s mantle.C. It collects ancient water from Earth’s surface.D. It recreates the extreme conditions deep underground.33. Based on the article, what can be inferred about early Earth A. Its mantle was completely frozen.B. It was always covered with liquid water.C. Its surface was cool and solid from the beginning.D. It was extremely hot with liquid rock spread widely.34. The word “lubricant” in paragraph 5 most likely means _________.A. a type of liquid that slows down movementB. a type of liquid that makes movement smootherC. a type of liquid that changes the shape of a rockD. a type of liquid that can freeze in an easier way35. Which of the following is the best title for the article A. A New Device for Measuring Earth’s Mantle B. How Deep Water Shaped Earth’s EvolutionC. The Discovery of Bridgmanite in Space D. Scientists Drill into Earth’s Ancient Oceans第二节 七选五(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。How to Build Good Study Habits for High School SuccessHigh school is a critical period for learning and personal growth, and good study habits are essential for academic success. Many students struggle with studying in distracting environments, which leads to frustration and poor grades. The good news is that you can develop effective habits with small but continuous efforts.36 A fixed study space helps your brain connect the area with learning, making it easier to focus when you start studying. It should be quiet, well-lit, and free of distractions like phones or loud music. It doesn’t have to be big—a small desk in your bedroom works if it is only for studying. Keep your space clean and your supplies within reach so you won’t waste time looking for things.Making a detailed study plan is another key step to effective learning. Instead of studying without any purpose, make a clear daily or weekly schedule. List the subjects you need to review and set realistic goals for each task. 37 For example, instead of “I will study English this evening,” try “I will memorize 20 new words and finish one reading comprehension passage this evening.” This way, you won’t feel overwhelmed and can clearly see how much you have accomplished.Taking breaks is often ignored but plays a vital role in maintaining study efficiency. 38 If you study for hours without stopping, your brain will get tired, and your productivity will drop sharply. A good rule is to study for 45–60 minutes and then take a 5–10 minute break. You can walk, stretch, or look outside instead of using your phone, which helps your brain recharge quickly.Effective note-taking can help you review and remember knowledge more easily. When listening to teachers or reading textbooks, don’t write down every word. 39 Focus on key points, main ideas, and important examples. Use simple symbols and headings to organize your notes, so you can quickly find the information you need when reviewing. No one can master all knowledge alone, so seeking help when needed is a smart study habit. 40 If you don’t understand a concept, don’t hesitate to ask your teacher for clarification after class. You can also study with classmates and discuss difficult problems together— explaining something to others can also deepen your own understanding.A. Create a fixed and organized study space.B. Break down big tasks into small, specific goals.E. A clean study space can help you stay in a good mood.C. You should record the most important information instead.F. Studying with friends is more interesting than studying alone.G. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a way to improve.D. Long-time continuous study will reduce your learning efficiency.第三部分 语言运用(共四节;满分55分)第一节 完形填空(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。As a single mom and lawyer, I had long spent my time volunteering for many good projects.
