Submissions are invited for the Poetry Nation Prime Poetry Contest.
About the Contest
This is a contest that runs annually.No entry fee is required.For each contest,between 20,000-
25,000 poems are received.Only 60%-70%of these poems will advance to the semi-final()
round.The submissions are on a rolling basis and are open throughout the year.At the conclusion of
each contest,the editorial staff gathers and begins the monumental task of the final round of judging.
Contest Rules
Poetry can be written in any poetic style and on any subject.
A poem in its entirety must be an original work by the person entering the contest.
Copying is a serious offense with serious consequences.
Only one poem per person,per household is allowed.
Poet must be at least thirteen years of age.
Poem must obey basic rules of capitalization:Do not type poem in all capital letters.Do not
capitalize the first letter of every word.
Prizes
The con test awards one first place prize of $2,000 and a first prize medal($100 value);twenty
second place prizes of $100 each and a second place medal($75 value);one hundred third place
winners of a third place medal and $25 gift certificate($75 value).Sixty to seventy percent of all
entries become semi-finalists and receive a certificate of participation suitable for framing.
