Two long-lost organ (管风琴) pieces composed by young Johann Sebastian
Bach were recently confirmed as genuine in Germany. Finally, the compositions were publicly performed for the first time in 300 years.
Bach was a German composer of classical music in the late 1600s and early
1700s. He is known for his complicated and clever musical patterns. Bach, like
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, exhibited his talent at a young age. As a young boy,
Bach took his first keyboard lessons from his older brother. As a schoolboy, he
produced “two of the most difficult organ compositions of his day.” Like Beethoven’s and Mozart’s, his music is still played daily around the world.
The newest additions to Bach’s official catalog were identified by Peter Wollny, director of the Bach Archive (档案馆) in Leipzig. Back in 1992, while researching
Bach’s oldest son and gathering materials for his paper at Belgium’s Royal Library, he found two scores — pieces of written music — from the 1700s, which were so
strikingly original that he had copies made and set them aside. The scores were for a special kind of music called a chaconne A chaconne has some expected patterns, but these two pieces broke those patterns in unusual ways. Who was the
composer Over the next 30 years, Wollny held onto those copies, thinking about them from time to time.
Since Wollny discovered the works, he has spared no effort to gather evidence pointing to Bach’s authorship. However, the handwriting wasn’t Bach’s. Wollny
didn’t give up. Finally, his co-worker Bernd Koska found a 1729 job application in a Thuringian church archive. The writer, organist Salomon Günther John, claimed to be a former student of Bach’s in Arnstadt — where Bach once worked as a church
organist. John had taken lessons from Bach between 1705 and 1707. With this clue, Wollny matched the scores’ handwriting to other documents by John, reasoning John
may have copied the compositions during their 1705 lessons. Scholars overseeing Bach’s official catalog agreed with his assessment.
4 .Why does the author mention Beethoven and Mozart
A .To show Bach’s global music influence.
B .To prove they were as famous as Bach.
C .To explain they inspired Bach musically.
D .To emphasize their extraordinary musical talent.
5 .What drew Wollny’s attention to the two scores
A .Their unique creativity. B .Their similarity to Bach’s musical pattern.
C .The recommendation of Bach’s son. D .His study on a chaconne.
6 .What does the last paragraph mainly talk about
A .How Wollny found the two old scores.B .When John became Bach’s student.
C .Why John copied Bach’s music in the 1700s. D .How Wollny confirmed Bach as the composer.
7 .Which word best describes Wollny
A .Ambitious. B .Independent. C .Determined. D .Demanding.

We live in a time of growing anxiety and fear. As AI becomes more capable and widespread in daily routines, anxieties surrounding it are likely to intensify. As with
any form of anxiety, it’s important to acknowledge your feelings and take steps to avoid becoming overwhelmed.
Psychologists suggest several specific strategies for managing anxiety about
generative AI. These include trying out AI tools to figure out how and where they can be useful, taking breaks from technology to restore and recharge, building new skills, and pursuing activities that activate human creativity and imagination.
I would like to expand on the third strategy — building new skills. In a recent
research study, my colleagues and I investigated the skills that are required to succeed in the future of work. We reviewed six research studies from around the world and
created a skill list of the future work skills.
We identified skills that were most frequently identified as key for the future of work: collaboration, communication, creativity and innovation, critical thinking,
cross-cultural ability, decision-making and judgment, learning / willingness to learn, problem-solving and social intelligence / perceptiveness.
Importantly, all these skills are “human” skills, meaning not digital or
technological. In this context, perhaps one of the most effective responses to anxiety about AI is focusing on developing our own human capacities.
Researchers argue that the disruptive potential of AI in the workplace involves one of three channels: replacing aspects of human work; complementing (补充) or enhancing human workers and their skills; and creating new tasks for workers. Of
these, the second — complementing or enhancing human workers — might be the best path forward. Rather than being viewed only as a threat, generative AI can be seen as a tool that enhances human abilities.
Exploring how our own cognitive (认知的) and creative capacities could be
enhanced through “collaborative intelligence” with generative AI, might be a useful antidote to being anxious about it. Such cooperation can also help us rethink our
relationship with work and find a stronger sense of purpose in a fast-changing world.
8 .What did the author’s recent research focus on
A .AI’s future development. B .Practical workplace skills.
C .AI’s negative effects on humans. D .Proper ways to apply AI.
9 .What is the second channel mainly about according to paragraph 6
A .Creating new job opportunities.
B .Ensuring the safety of working conditions.
C .Preventing human jobs from being taken over by AI.
D .Improving humans themselves by making use of AI.
10 .What does the underlined word “antidote” in the last paragraph mean
A .Solution. B .Consequence. C .Principle. D .Reference.
11 .What is the author’s purpose of writing the text
A .To analyze AI’s rapid development.
B .To illustrate people’s anxiety over AI.
C .To offer people advice to meet AI challenges.
D .To inform people of the threats presented by AI.

Just a few years ago, agricultural drones (农业无人机) were expensive, small and difficult to use, limiting their appeal to farmers. In contrast, today’s models can be
flown immediately after purchase and carry loads weighing up to 220 pounds (100 kg).
Agricultural drones are now similar to flying tractors (空中拖拉机) — they can perform numerous tasks using different hardware mon uses for
drones on farms include spraying (喷洒) crops, spreading fertilizer, sowing seeds, transporting produce, dispensing fish feeds, painting greenhouses, monitoring
livestock locations and well-being, mapping field topography and drainage, and
measuring crop health. These features make drones valuable for growing numerous crops on farms of all sizes.
Historically, most agricultural technology — tractors, for example — has spread from high-income countries to middle-and then lower-income ones over the course of many decades. Drones partially reversed (使完全相反) and dramatically accelerated this pattern, spreading first from East Asia to Southeast Asia, then to Latin America, and finally to North America and Europe. Their use in higher-income regions is more limited but is accelerating rapidly in the U.S.
Shifting from applying chemicals with backpack sprayers to drones
substantially reduces the risk of direct exposure to toxins for farmers and farm
workers. However, because drones usually spray from a height of at least 6 feet (2
meters), if used improperly, they can spread droplets containing pesticides or
herbicides to neighboring farms, waterways or bystanders. That can damage crops and endanger people and nature.
Drones, which spray and spread fertilizers and seeds evenly and efficiently, save
farmers time and money, so that less is wasted. Meanwhile, they reduce the need for smallholders — people who farm less than 5 acres (2 hectares) — to do dangerous
and tiring manual spraying and spreading work on their own farms. They also remove the need to hire workers to do the same. However, governments may need to find
ways to help displaced workers find new jobs.
In combination, these factors may increase the amount of food that can be
produced on each acre of land, while reducing the amount of resources needed to do so. In the past five years, millions of farmers around the world have embraced drones.
12 .What can be known about agricultural drones from paragraph 2
A .They enjoy great popularity. B .They come with multiple functions.
C.They are quite affordable. D.They cause widespread unemployment.
13 .What is special about agricultural drones
A .Their spreading pattern. B .Their operating principle.
C .Their research and development. D .Their low-price marketing strategy.
14 .What is the author’s attitude to agricultural drones
A .Objective. B .Unclear. C .Doubtful. D .Dismissive.
15 .What can be a suitable title for the text
A .Drones Revolutionize American Agriculture
B .Drones Increase Farmers’ Working Costs
C .Agricultural Drones Are Taking Off Globally
D .Agricultural Drones Do Good to Environment

Let’s talk about movement, not as exercise, but as a secret weapon for creative
people. On a memorable walk with bestselling author Kelly Corrigan, she told me how she’s become a master of getting unstuck: She’s found that simple, physical breaks — like walking, dancing, or just moving around — can reset her mood and
focus. 16 , especially for anyone who writes, thinks or stares at a screen for a living!Feeling stuck Hit play and dance it out
Kelly’s favorite fix for writer’s block is a three-minute dance break. “I love
music so much,” she told me. “ 17 .” Forget toxic productivity. When the
atmosphere turns tense or unpleasant, don’t force yourself to keep going — shake it off. Grab your phone, play a song you love, and move. You might be one verse away from your next great idea.
18
Writing can feel like a sedentary (久坐不动的) sport, but Kelly tries to get upright whenever she can, especially during phone calls or research listening sessions. Not every task allows for it, but many do, such as scheduling a dentist appointment or returning a call. Try doing it on foot.Make your break beautiful
19 , she’ll often take a minute to tidy her space, clear her desk, take out the
recycling, and wipe down a counter. It’s not about perfection. It’s about caring for the environment where her ideas take shape.Work with your body — not against it
20 . Kelly doesn’t schedule much for early afternoons — she knows
that’s her low-energy time. “I don’t fight with myself anymore about how I work and what my periods of rest look like,” she said. Most of us don’t have a writer’s
flexibility, but we can get curious about our own rhythms and make micro adjustments. Think of these breaks as just part of the creative process.
A .Get up while you’re catching up
B .So I want to share a few of her tricks
C .When Kelly finishes a movement break
D .Stop trying to be productive all day long
E .It’s the cheapest way to change my mood
F .If you want to finish your task as soon as possible
G .We need to strike a proper balance between work and play

Nora was my deskmate, and also the quietest girl in our class. For two years, we shared a table, but there seemed to be a world between us. She spent every break
reading by the window. To me, she was cold and selfish. “She only cares about herself and her perfect grades, “I often thought, feeling upset with my smart but distant deskmate.
Then, just three weeks before the midterm exam, I caught a bad flu. I returned to school a full week later, filled with panic. Physics was my weakest subject, and I had missed crucial lessons. My first move was to seek help. I asked around, hoping to
borrow notes. One classmate had lost his notebook. Another’s handwriting was a
chaotic mess I couldn’t understand. And a third simply forgot to bring it. With each rejection, my anxiety grew. Time was running out, and I felt completely lost.
Finally, with a sinking heart, I knew there was only one person left to ask: Nora. Her physics notes were famous for being clear and perfect. But the thought of asking her made my face burn. I imagined her polite but firm refusal, a small shake of her
head that would confirm all my beliefs about her selfishness. All day, I rehearsed (彩排) the request in my head, my courage failing each time I looked at her focused
profile.
After the last bell, I stayed at my desk, trying to be brave. But as I turned to finally speak, my words died in my throat. There, neatly placed in the center of my desk, was a notebook. It wasn’t mine. With a pounding heart, I opened it.
Inside were the most beautiful notes I had ever seen. Every lesson from my sick week was there, written in precise plex formulas (公式) were
broken down step by step. Clear diagrams illustrated every key concept. It was a lifeline.

根据文章第二段“Agricultural drones are now similar to flying tractors — they can perform numerous tasks using different hardware attachments.(如今的农业无人机如同飞行
Historically, most agricultural technology — tractors, for
example — has spread from high-income countries to middle-and then lower-income ones over
the course of many decades. Drones partially reversed (使完全相反) and dramatically accelerated this pattern, spreading first from East Asia to Southeast Asia, then to Latin America, and finally to North America and Europe (长久以来多数农业技术从高收入国家逐步向外传播,而无人机扭转并加快了这一传播模式)”可知,农业无人机的特别之处在于其独特的传播模式。故选 A项。
Shifting from applying chemicals with backpack sprayers to drones substantially reduces the risk of direct exposure to toxins for farmers and farmworkers.
However, because drones usually spray from a height of at least 6 feet (2 meters), if used
improperly, they can spread droplets containing pesticides or herbicides to neighboring farms,
waterways or bystanders. That can damage crops and endanger people and nature(从使用背负式
这既会损害农作物,又会危及人类与自然环境)”以及倒数第二段“Drones, which spray and spread fertilizers and seeds evenly and
efficiently, save farmers time and money, so that less is wasted. Meanwhile, they reduce the need
for smallholders — people who farm less than 5 acres (2 hectares) — to do dangerous and tiring
manual spraying and spreading work on their own farms. They also remove the need to hire
workers to do the same. However, governments may need to find ways to help displaced workers
故选 A 项。
根据第一段“Just a few years ago, agricultural drones (无人机) were expensive,
small and difficult to use, limiting their appeal to farmers. In contrast, today’s models can be
flown immediately after purchase and carry loads weighing up to 220 pounds (100 kg).(就在几年前,农业无人机不仅价格昂贵、体型小巧,而且操作难度大,这大大限制了它们对农民的吸引力。
Historically, most agricultural technology — tractors, for example — has spread from high-income countries to middle-and then lower-income ones over the course of
many decades. Drones partially reversed (使完全相反) and dramatically accelerated this pattern,
spreading first from East Asia to Southeast Asia, then to Latin America, and finally to North
America and Europe (长久以来多数农业技术从高收入国家逐步向外传播,而无人机扭转并加快了这一传播模式)”以及倒数第二段“Drones, which spray and spread fertilizers and seeds
evenly and efficiently, save farmers time and money, so that less is wasted. Meanwhile, they
reduce the need for smallholders — people who farm less than 5 acres (2 hectares) — to do
dangerous and tiring manual spraying and spreading work on their own farms. They also remove
the need to hire workers to do the same. However, governments may need to find ways to help

Stop Scrolling, Start Reading
Dear fellow students,
Nowadays, many of us are addicted to scrolling through short videos. It not only distracts our attention from studies but also makes our thinking shallow. What’s more, it takes up a great deal of time that could be spent on more meaningful things.
Books, on the other hand, can enrich our minds and broaden our horizons. So, I sincerely call on all of you to stop scrolling through short videos and start reading. Let’s dive into the wonderful world of books and gain valuable knowledge.
Thank you for listening.
47 . I immediately looked at Nora. She was standing by the window, her usual reading spot. Our eyes met, and for a moment, I saw a softness in her eyes that I had never noticed before. I rushed
over to her, holding the notebook tightly. Words of gratitude tumbled out of my mouth. “Nora, I... I don’t know how to thank you. This means the world to me.” She smiled gently, a bit shyly, and said, “It’s okay. I knew you’d be in trouble with the missed lessons, so I thought I’d help.”
It turned out that during my illness, Nora was specially taking notes for me. She had been observing me all along, aware of my struggles with physics. She sacrificed her own study time to make sure I wouldn’t fall behind. I felt a deep sense of shame for my previous thoughts about her. I realized how wrong I was to judge her so harshly. From then on, I made a vow to get to know
her better. Our friendship grew from that day on, and I discovered a warm-hearted and kind-soul beneath her quiet exterior.
