第四部分 写作(共二节;满分40分)
第一节 应用文(满分15分)
Dear Toby,
I’m glad to hear your club will hold a Chinese culture activity next month. I strongly recommend the Chinese Paper-cutting Workshop.
Compared with calligraphy, paper-cutting is easier to learn. It only requires paper and scissors, which are cheap and easy to get. Besides, the beautiful patterns like flowers or animals can be finished quickly, bringing participants a strong sense of achievement. What’s more, it carries rich cultural meanings and finished works are easy to display.
I believe this workshop will attract more students and make your activity a great success. I hope my suggestion helps and feel free to ask for help if needed.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
I sat down on my bed and slowly opened the small box. Inside lay a shining new guitar pick, exactly like my broken one, with a warm note written in my father’s familiar handwriting. Reading its gentle words, all my long-held misunderstanding faded away completely. I finally realized he had always cared about my love for music, secretly preparing this gift and searching for helpful learning materials online. Deep guilt flooded my heart for my rude words and the cold silence I had kept between us for days.
I held the new pick tightly and walked out to my father in the living room. Seeing me approach, he looked a little nervous, as if still worrying about our cold relationship. I lowered my head and apologized sincerely for my unreasonable behaviour. He smiled softly and patted my shoulder warmly, saying he would always support my passion as long as I kept a good balance between study and hobbies. From then on, soft guitar music often filled our home, carrying the quiet but deep love between father and son.

(Text 2)
W: Mr. Walker, have you graded our exams yet
M: I’m afraid not, Alice. I’ve already graded the first-period students’ exams, but I haven’t gotten to yours yet.
(Text 3)
M: Have you seen the new movie yet — Future 2 It’s the second one in the Future series.
W: Not yet. Is it any good
M: Yeah, it’s way better than the first one. The colors are really cool, too.
(Text 4)
M: I’m off to volleyball practice soon, Mum.
W: You’ll need some lunch before you go. What about a sandwich Or there are some sausages in the fridge.
M: Just a sandwich, please. I’m in a hurry.
(Text 5)
M: What do you think of that new café Their cheese and onion pies were delicious.
W: I’d definitely go again for that! Our order took a while to arrive, but at least the waiter made us laugh.
M: Well, if you found him funny ... I didn’t. It was nice there, but the chairs were a bit hard.
(Text 6)
M: What an incredible rock-climbing experience!
W: I know. I was so scared looking down.
M: Yeah, even though we weren’t at the top. I was afraid I’d mess up loads of things wrong today so I’m glad I didn’t. And you nearly injured your ankle! I’m hoping it’ll be easier next time.
W: I think that today was enough for me. I feel the next lesson could be too challenging.
M: Isn’t that a bit negative And after today, who knows how good we might become.
(Text 7)
W: Mike, I heard you went through an earthquake last month. Can you tell me about it
M: OK. It was on March 28th. Our wooden house didn’t suffer much damage. My wife hurt her arm slightly while trying to hold onto a shelf. My daughter was frightened but not injured, and my son stepped on a nail. He got treatment at a clinic.
W: Oh, that’s really tough.
M: Yes. But others were worse off. So, I joined a relief team to help others. It’s important for people to help each other after a natural disaster.
W: I totally agree.
(Text 8)
W: Hi David. I wondered if you might be able to tell me a bit about your current role. Your CV says you’ve been at E-Net for six years.
M: Yes, I started working there fresh out of college. I wrote articles and marketing content for the website.
W: Understood. So you’ve always been on the content creation side
M: Well, after a couple of years, I was promoted to Senior Editor, so I reviewed the content of the other writers, making sure the quality was good. Then the following year, I was promoted again. Now I’m the Content Manager for our online presence.
W: So, you’ve been at E-Net for quite a while. Why do you want to leave now
M: To be honest, I’ve really enjoyed it, but I just feel like I’ve learned as much as I can there, and I want to keep developing my skills.
(Text 9)
M: Today, my guest is Lisa, manager of Talley Farms. Hello, Lisa. We’re talking about Claire, a teen making a big difference in your local food bank. Lisa, can you walk us through her work
W: Absolutely. She organizes annual holiday food drives to collect money and food donations for the local food bank, ensuring families in need have enough to eat during the holiday season.
M: Did she receive support from others
W: Yes. Local businesses jumped in — We helped put up advertisements for Claire on our weekly harvest boxes, and Poor Richard’s Press printed them for free. That support really boosted her efforts.
M: What’s she aiming for this year
W: Last year, she managed to raise $12,000 in total. This year, she aims to double last year’s total.
M: And how does she plan to achieve that
W: This Saturday, she’s organizing a “Walk for Food” event in City Park, asking participants to get people to sponsor them for every lap they complete.
M: That sounds like a wonderful and active way to engage the whole community!
(Text 10)
OK, everyone, I’d like to tell you a bit about our class trip to the Natural History Museum tomorrow. You need to arrive at the school gate by eight, as we’ll set off at ten past eight. You’ll have a great time looking at all the displays, but there’s work to do, too! Not a test this time ― I’d like you to read the display information carefully and choose the most interesting item to make a drawing of it. I know you’d probably like to take a photo or two, but mobile phones are not allowed. As for lunch, the museum has a café, but the school kitchen will provide a packed lunch for everyone. There’s a lovely garden beside the museum where we can walk around. So we’ll go down to the garden and have our picnic there. We’ll see more of the museum in the afternoon. Make notes because after our visit, I’m going to ask you to write a report about it. Don’t worry. You won’t have to do a presentation — you’ll be pleased to hear that!
