范文
I realized it was me who was at fault. Lying in bed that night, my mind was a mess. My brother’s disappointed face flashed into my mind. It was thoughtless that I could have left Toby outside when it rained. What mattered most was that Toby wasn't just a dog; he was my brother's source of comfort during his darkest days. I tossed and turned, filled with remorse. The next morning, I told my wife about my decision. She smiled and said, “Why not bake some of his favorite biscuits That might help.” So, what we could do was to carefully make the biscuits, each one filled with my sincere apology. Then, I took a deep breath and texted my brother, “Can we meet I have something to tell you.” To my relief, he replied, “Okay.”
With the biscuits my wife had made, I arrived at my brother’s door. My heart was pounding nervously. When he opened the door, we stood there for a moment, looking at each other awkwardly. “Hi,” I said, my voice a bit shaky. “I...,I brought these for you.” He took the plate of biscuits, his eyes softening a little. Just then, Toby came running over, wagging his tail hesitantly. I squatted down and held out my hand. What surprised me was that Toby sniffed it and then licked my hand gently. My brother watched this and let out a sigh. “Come in,” he said. We sat in the living room, eating the biscuits, and gradually, the ice between us melted. We talked about the old days, about his wife, and about how much we had missed each other. As the afternoon sun shone through the window, the realization struck me that our relationship was finally back on track, all thanks to a little bit of courage and a lot of love.
