Let’s talk
Indians often eat with their right hand and love eating curry.
In Indian culture, the left hand is often considered unclean.
Indians may not use a knife or a fork.
Cows are important and protected in India because of their religion -- the Hindu religion(印度教). Many Hindus (印度教徒) see cows as holy and gentle animals.
Many people like / do not like curry.
It is usually OK to be late / early when visiting friends.
People will usually offer you some tea / fruit when you visit them.
People usually wear clothes which cover their arms / legs.
It is rude / polite to give or take things with your left hand.
Dishes with beef are common / uncommon.

Ella: Well, people may not use a knife and fork at all. Very often they eat with their hands instead.

Emma: Yes! People in India often eat a lot of curry. I ate chicken curry there, and it was delicious! But don’t expect to eat any beef. Cows are protected in India. They are special to many people.
Ella: And they even walk anywhere they like! While we were there, one walked right in front of our car! It walked so slowly that we had to slow down and follow it!
被动语态,表 “被保护”

so ... that + 结果状语从句,意为 “如此…… 以至于……”

Learning about other customs helps us avoid misunderstanding and trouble when communicating with foreigners.
It means accepting different countries have different traditions, and we should be polite and friendly to people from other cultures.
