What do you know about India
Let’s talk
Indians often eat with their right hand and love eating curry.
In Indian culture, the left hand is often considered unclean.
Indians may not use a knife or a fork.
Cows are important and protected in India because of their religion -- the Hindu religion(印度教). Many Hindus (印度教徒) see cows as holy and gentle animals.
Many people like / do not like curry.
It is usually OK to be late / early when visiting friends.
People will usually offer you some tea / fruit when you visit them.
People usually wear clothes which cover their arms / legs.
It is rude / polite to give or take things with your left hand.
Dishes with beef are common / uncommon.

听后：对照答案，在听力文本中找到对应原句，确认拼写和语法是否正确。如果填错了，是漏听了信息，还是语法形式错了？

Ella: Second, you should only use your right hand to eat.
Peter: With my knife and fork
Ella: Well, people may not use a knife and fork at all. Very often they eat with their hands instead.
Peter: OK! Anything else
not...at all：固定搭配，表 “一点也不”
常用的追问句式
Emma: Yes! People in India often eat a lot of curry. I ate chicken curry there, and it was delicious! But don’t expect to eat any beef. Cows are protected in India. They are special to many people.
Ella: And they even walk anywhere they like! While we were there, one walked right in front of our car! It walked so slowly that we had to slow down and follow it!
被动语态，表 “被保护”
“任何他们喜欢的地方”
so ... that + 结果状语从句，意为 “如此…… 以至于……”

We usually shake hands or smile to greet each other.
We use chopsticks to eat, and it’s polite not to make noise while eating.
We value being on time for meetings.
When visiting a family, bringing small gifts is polite.
2. Why is it important to learn about other countries’ customs What does “respecting cultural differences” mean to you
Learning about other customs helps us avoid misunderstanding and trouble when communicating with foreigners.
It means accepting different countries have different traditions, and we should be polite and friendly to people from other cultures.
