Bears will generally flee when they sense your presence. However, bears can be unpredictable and, in some situations, dangerous. Always leave plenty of space between you and a bear if possible.

● If you see baby bears, be careful and stay away. Mother bears can be very protective of their young.
● If you see the bear before it sees you, back away slowly, keeping your eyes on the bear.
